Yep, with this port I'm glad I didn't buy this (even with refunds you still have to put down £40 in the first place). Decided to get Inside and a Lego Dimensions pack instead. Hopefully in 6+ months time it's £20 and the port's been fixed.

Played a bit more, bumped it up to 4K through DSR, really does a lot for IQ, looks a hell of a lot better. Running really well so far.

Oh you guys think you fixed the stuttering? Still fucking trash port. Worst port of all time I can confidently say. Steam refunds all day, Lying greedy devs, crackachu...*fart*

Yeah that's always been my issue with his port reports. That and watching him explain graphical features and tech can be cringeworthy.

it's hilarious that TB and people like him do NOTHING to try alleviate their situation, no tweaking what so ever, and then proclaim it's a shit port.

Dang so the issue people are having are things that you should have turned off/on with every game. PC gamers, always turn off in game vsync.. Use it at driver level.

Really feeling disappointed. When Hello Games first showed no man's sky it looked like it could be a really immersive PC game. What I ended up buying was a game with terrible 3440x1440 support, awful AA and what looks like last gen resolutions and bad optimization.
I'm stopping for the night with my play clock at 30mins and I'll get my first steam refund next week if nothing is addressed

It's easy ro make games look good if you edit the right clips here and there.

Holy shit, it sold well.

I'm still downloading. :(

Just had that 18mb update too. Wonder if that helps. I actually prefer playing my ps4 version. When you have a lovely framerate of 60fps but stuttering often, really takes me out of the experience. Rather than a solid 30fps with no stuttering which is what I'm getting on PS4.

Even after disabling vsync and setting frame limit to max I still got issues where the game stops responding for half a second or more. WTF Hello Games.

Always.

Good to see positive impressions after that initial craziness. Still hoping I can even launch the game when I get home tho, lol.

Ditto, the money didn't even leave my bank haha.

You could play it for 2 hours and still get a 100% refund.

That's my plan anyway. If it crashes too much for me tonight within the 1st two hours, I'm just sending it back.

Too enticing not to give it 2 hours at least though.

At the very least I'll log in, name a couple planets really DUMB names and quit. I'll have left my mark on the galaxy at least.

Then get mad at people for not refunding?

People would just buy on launch day to test perf then refund anyway. It is literally the same now that refunds are here.

Who said I was mad ? We're just talking. If anything, I'm more shruging than anything else, or feeling spite or I dunno (not english here).

Fixed my stutter and getting consistent 16.6ms 60fps at 1080p on my i5 4690k/GTX 970 rig — at least while walking around this first planet. I'll update once I can fly.

In-game settings:
Window Mode: Fullscreen
Monitor: Primary
Resolution: 1920x1080
V-Sync: Off
Anti Aliasing: SSSA x 4
FoV (both): 90
Anisotropic Filtering: 16
Texture Detail: High
Shadow Detail: Medium
Generation Detail: High
Reflection Quality: Low
Max FPS: Max

Nvidia Inspector settings:
Vsync: Force On
Triple Buffering: Enabled
FXAA Usage: Enabled
FXAA: On

With my general 60fps cap in RTSS.

We'll see how it holds up.

Thanks man. Same specs as me so this should do me perfect.

Sony & Microsoft seem to ruin everything they get their hands on this generation.

Ok yeah with those few tweaks the game feels 100% totally ok. Pop in is shitty, image quality isn't great, and 21:9 support is poor but gameplay wise it feels great.

Problem for me is that the game only ran the first time, then it locked PC up when quit the game using menu. Now the game locks up the PC every time I start it up so I cant even get to the options menu to change the graphics

I've never experienced a steam game locking up my PC every time I start it. Incredible.

I like it so far. No crashes, stuttering now seems gone and it looks great. I don't have a pop in issue so far either. *shrug

- redeemed pre-order ship and got rid of the fisher price "my first fridge" flying toy. All is good in the world. lol

Yeah this is what I'm getting. Frame hitching is it called? I'm not very technical lol.

Every now and then it literally pauses for like half a second or a second. Really annoying.

My rig should be more than able to handle this.

Sorry, but is this how he normally is? I had to turn the stream off after a few minutes because he's so aggressive and angry that it's making me wince.

Is this what makes you popular on Youtube?

The more I watched his stream, he was acting obnoxious at certain things. "What's this mineral do? No explanation." .. "Don't know why I just can't teleport back to my ship." .. "Do you guys actually find this game appealing?"

I think it's probably his schtick to act like that. I'm still new to him, so didn't know exactly what to expect when I first turned on his stream. It's bringing in the views, that's for sure.

Should I be using Nvidia Inspector to force Vsync and AA in my games? First I've heard that this program can override setting vs. just do monitoring. Is the forced VSync and AA for Inspector better than game-specific settings?

When you have settings that don't work or actually hurt performance then you have a shit port on your hands.

Yeah. Well it looks like at least that helped some people. But it does seem the port needs some work for sure.

Also I'm not sure if the sensitivity settings actually affects the mouse at all. Had to change my DPI to make it into something barely usable.

Also that FOV seems way too narrow to be 100 degrees.
