Deus Ex: Mankind Divided I Review Thread I I asked for this

Better than MGSV confirmed, unless that quality stuff is quality filler, in which case it'd be on par with MGSV.

Def more unique content and story driven elements here then in MGSV for sure. So far with my time, nothing feels padded out.

Has it been confirmed whether or not the 2 season pass missions are completely divorced from the normal game like The Missing Link was for Human Revolution? Not being able to bring my character or gain anything to bring into the main game from it is kind of a deal breaker.

People say with such certainity that Squeenix cut major content from the game, is there any hard evidence?

There is no evidence of that, it's just that the ending is abrupt. The game content feels complete and I believe others have posted that the game resolves the plot mostly as it goes along. The ending, though, has some sort of setup sequence for the next game, so it's basically a to be concluded in the next game kind of deal.

Developer haven't said a thing about season pass contents, it being weekend and all. Very odd that stores started to spill the beans over the weekend.

I will hold off judgement etc. until devs chime in.

It was especially great when it was like

"You have any evidence of that Mr detective?"

*looks at notebook notes*

*finds evidence with fingerprints and like voice recorded message of the person saying they did it*

"YOU BET YOUR ASS I DO"

So any idea on unlock time? I've been hearing people say it's a universal time instead of timezone rollout, but no idea on WHICH timezone it unlocks for everyone on.

Can't be that hard to check the steam store page to see unlock time for your region, is it?

There is no way that timer is the real time.

There would be outrage on the internets if PC players had to wait damn near a day after console release to play. Enough outrage to make a man say "Square just shot themselves in the foot."

Usually when that's the case you see evidence from footage from early trailers that isn't in the final game or mentions about things in interviews that don't appear. Don't know if any of that is true in this case, though.

we're back to liking the game again?

Negative remarks always seems to thrive and outshine the good comments.

Gameplay is fantastic, just as good as HR if not better, and the story elements are well done. I've been told that the ending leaves room for another entry but that the story told here is complete. Sounds like most games these days. I don't have a big issue with that, more bothered my the performance dips on ps4 if anything and even those are tolerable. At this point it's become almost addicting sneaking arounds and putting my nose in people's dirty business. Ha. There are a few more notable small criticisms, but anyone worried this won't provided a solid follow up to HR in the gameplay department is worried over nothing.

So the patch did nothing to resolve those frame drops ?

Some more questions for those who've been playing:

1) In general, are the visuals more consistent compared to HR? (I remember HR having some great aesthetics mixed with poor textures, ugly character models, and really low-quality FMVs.)

2) Are the majority of augmentations useful or only a select few again?

3) Is hacking less tedious than hacking in HR?

4) Is the AI better during combat?

5) Is there greater weapon variety than in HR?

Thanks!

Gonna try a 3rd time: Have they changed the XP system in this from HR. In other words do you get more xp for non lethal stealth take downs then any other take down, do you get xp from hacking but not using codes you find, stuff like that?

AKA does it push you towards one specific play style via xp rewards or not.

From what I've seen in reviews, there are a good amount of augmentations that can be useful. In addition to this, any playstyle receives the same amount of experience points which is in contrast to HR where stealth was greatly preferred. Weapons seems to vary greatly as well.

Yes.

I'd say it's still a mixed bag.

As for augments, it's a mixed bag and depends on how the player wants to play. I think the new Augs are just ok.

Hacking is very similar to HR.

AI, not sure, seems like it, but also I feel there are more enemies around at one time then the first.

Variety is pistol, revolver, shotgun, sniper rifle, battle rifle, smg, grenades, gas, etc. I feel like it's more robust but it's been years since I played HR.

These aside, still loving it.

I can't find the exact post but I do remember one member saying that you still get more points for non-lethal take downs (not sure if the difference between lethal vs non-lethal has been reduced though). Don't know about hacking.

Got the game Saturday via simply games

Played around 8 hours and think it is pretty great, performance does dip in the hub area sometimes.

One thing I find odd is side missions seeming hard to come by and I have explored alot.

It's probably the 24th for you. It's currently set to release around the normal Steam store updates time on the 23rd which is the 24th in some regions. Roughly 1 day and 13 hours from now is roughly 9-10 am on the 23rd in Seattle where Valve is located.

Steam Community says that @deusex confirmed a midnight steam release. But it's Steam Community so I take whatever they say with a grain of salt.

Hope it's true though

Why does steam have the release for the 24th of August, while every other website I've seen ( GameStop/EB games) says the 23rd?

I take it that you're from Asia. Release date for games are generally for US timezone.

So if it's 23rd in the US, it's gonna be 24th in our region.
