Deus Ex: Mankind Divided PC performance thread

3 minutes for patch download to complete.
Shitty specs benchmark incoming:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 3.5 Ghz
GTX 1060
8 GB RAM

I am quite happy with performance TBH.

Whew

Runs great on my 980 SLI - Missing MSAA but around 60-70FPS as far as I've gotten.

980TI
3770k OC
16gb ram

1440p
no MSAA
everything else Ultra

40 fps on benchmark, felt smoother with 144hz and gysnc on so I'll stick with it

Also looking for some mouse tweaks. I particularly want the y and x axis sensitivities to be the exact same, this lower y axis sensitivity bs is, well, bs.

The obvious problem here is that the game doesn't look anywhere close to the level of performance it is outputting. And this can be a valid point for concerns on the renderer optimization.
Are you certain?
I'm all for complex settings which are unplayable on current h/w IF these settings actually provide something which is advancing the graphics beyond what's possible right now. I don't see anything like this in DXMD @ Ultra.
In what manner?

Whelp, disabling SLI fixed part of my issues but it's still dipping down to 20fps at 1080p with many settings off or disabled...

Bleh.

So, GTX 980, 4790k.

What should I set to? The game runs at about 48fps on high with a few things turned down or off. Even on medium I am not getting 60.

Human Revolution had some mouse adjustments you could make in the registry. I checked, and this one does not, at least from what I can tell. Why is it so difficult for devs to include raw mouse (or at the very least, an acceleration/smoothing toggle) and individual mouse axis adjustments?

Uses gsync for me. How are you checking that gsync isn't used? In my experience, the information in the display settings (accessible from buttons on the display) can erroneously state that gsync isn't used sometimes.

My monitor has a framerate counter which only ever changes from 100 if gsync is active, I only use it when I think it isn't working. But it's all fixed now! Just missed the exclusive fullscreen option, that was all :)

Having Sharpen active in the graphical options really uglyifies the game IMO. Looks a lot better softer. Looks like Borderlands Ex with it on.

Hi, is anyone with the same rig run the game at a locked 60FPS ( if yes, mind posting your settings, thank you so much )

I7 4790k
16 GO Ram
GTX980.

Seriously, Raw Input is gods gift, it needs to be absolutely everywhere.

Same graphics card, but with a 5820k. My experience has been that this is absolutely not stable at 60 on the "recommended" high preset. The only way I got a semi-stable framerate at high was to drop the resolution to 900p.

For what it's worth, I got an additional couple frames per second by using the NVIDIA control panel AF and Triple Buffering/VSync. The in-game ones were fine, but the NVCP settings seem to perform a bit better.

Setting the Maximum Pre-rendered Frames to 1 also helps smooth out the unstable framerate.

Those screenshots look awful like they''ve been upscaled, putting that down to image compression I'm guessing.

Runs pretty great for me so far.

i5 3570k@4.2
16GB DDR3
980 TI
HDD

60FPS avg so far during real gameplay. Benchmark gives me 40 avg but I can't seem to get it past 43 even with everything turned off.

1440p
MSAA OFF

Nice, I'll probably use something close to these settings then.

Does it matter if I do 16x texture filtering in the Nvidia control panel versus in-game?

1440p everything on Ultra, MSAA off
Around 42fps@Titan maXwell, 4790K, 16GB DDR-3

Will tweak CHS, SSS and VL

Edit: It was 42 FPS average not 52, sorry!

I agree but I also think that it might be a bit too soft without it when using the temporal AA. I might play around with Reshade and add just a touch of sharpening.

People should really stop pushing PC gaming as simply faster consoles. People don't understand and refuse to understand that:

A) Some settings are genuinely expensive and for good reason
B) You don't need to use those settings, turn them down/off
C) Max/high/ultra/whatever are arbitary labels. You're not entitled to x performance at y 'label'.

We're going to end up with good studios like Nixxes backing away from including all these nice, sometimes currently unreachable settings and that's a bad thing.

Amen. I can't count the amount of times I've seen someone ask why they have such poor performance while having MSAA x8 on or something.

Turn off MSAA and either put Volumetric Lighting on On or Off. Do not set it to Ultra. Both of these settings are HUGE performance killers.

Did this from the start and am running no lower then 50fps at 3440x1440 with everything else maxed out. GTX 1080, i7-6700k, 16gb RAM, Win 10.

Looks nice and seems to be running totally fine for me.

Anyone tried this on a similar spec to me?

i5 6600
gtx 970
8gb ddr4
I can't afford to buy it for a couple weeks but it'd be cool to know how it runs on my pc.

As long as I can get it to run at 60fps I'll be happy. Kind of don't care about playing it on high settings tbh.

Steam Overlay isn't working for me.

Shouldn't have problems on high and maybe some stuff medium.

There's a "game_options.bin" located at Steam\userdata\22790274\337000\remote (replace the 22790274 part with your own ID) but no idea how to open it.

Maybe a lead to fix the mouse input?

Got the same setup. Runs at 70+ @ 1080p on high to very high settings without MSAA.

Why does he wear the mask!?
970 8gb ram only getting 40ish fps on high :( Tried lowering shadows but made no difference on benchmarks

Could have used few more weeks to get more optimized.. Really shaky performance for what it looks (and it is impressive don't get me wrong but nothing that shouldn't run 60fps on most setups).
Does exclusive fullscreen give much of a performance boost? Good old buyers remorse slowly creeping in having to set these options to Med-Ultra with no MSAA to achieve 1440@60fps on 1070, maybe I should have gone for 1080.

anybody with a 980ti what settings did you land on for 1080p/60? as much as i'd love to tweak this i just wanna get home and jump in

MSI Afterburner and Riva might have been causing my crashing issue. Played for 15 minutes no crash yet, fingers crossed.

Try it if you've been experiencing constant crashing and run both those programs.
Whats a good lightweight alternative FPS counter I could use instead?

Been running around in the hub now with everything maxed but no MSAA. Average was 75fps and the lowest was 65 on a GTX1080. Both of those are still too low for me, so not gonna play with those settings anyway.

You can enable a FPS-counter from the Steam overlay. I've been using that recently for a bunch of games.

Looks like my i5-4570 is finally holding me back. Getting high 40s to mid 50s on High (and Low, so) at 1080p.

Odd considering neither it nor my 970 are hitting max usage but I'll take it.

OK so far I have played through intro mission. My system is i7 4790K, 16GB RAM, GTX1070. So far on 1080p I have about 70-80 fps with everything max settings except MSAA off and I turned off Motion Blur too . I would say really good performance.

So running at 720p now and getting 25 frames per second average with a minimum of 13fps.

Well I used Shadowplay to capture them, however turning off Temp AA seems to have improved it a bit.

However, I still feel its a bit wonky looking.

Just ran the benchmark on absolute max sans MSAA at 3440x1440 and got 52.5fps average on the benchmark. Not bad, especially with GSYNC smoothing everything out. Heard the bench is especially taxing and most are getting better performance in game. Let's find out.

Just use Steam overlay's FPS counter. You can turn it on in the settings.
