NLG job posting: unreal + ARM = NX?

It would leak immediately. There's no benefit to show it to GS employees behind closed-doors and then wait on a public reveal.

The only statement they'd make is "preorders will open alongside a public reveal on [insert date]". That's literally the best possible case scenario.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I think I read earlier in this thread that he usually presents Nintendo's offerings at this show. With the leaks PS had previously from this show, and with the degree of lockdown NX has been under, I don't think they would risk that by showing it off here unless it's unveiled to the public prior or at the same time

Makes sense, thanks.

I guess Kevin just underestimated how rabid and thirsty we all are. Hell I heard a commercial for a new Lexus NX and I immediately turned my head wondering what the hell was going on.

I still get tricked whenever an "NX Gamer" thread shows up here.

Nintendo has never used an external engine though AFAIK, even with their western or external developers.

I think Ubisoft used their branch of Unreal Engine 2 on the 3DS(for Splinter Cell).
They always had really specialized hardware though. I think the NX will be less so.

Exactly. Even if everyone who entered were required to sign an NDA beforehand, it's effectively impossible to control leaks from a crowd that size.

What Nintendo uses themselves is irrelevant. UE3 is officially supported on Wii U, and Unity on both 3DS and Wii U.

I think his point is that NLG seems to be hiring people with Unreal experience, which would indicate that they could be developing a Nintendo game in UE4, which is rare for Nintendo partners (even NLG).

Whatever is happening, I am hoping for some NX news soon.

What's that mean in English? Lol

Basically, there are SDKs for each Nintendo console, like CAFE SDK for Wii U, and while I'm not sure what's the name of the New 3DS' SDK is (SNAKE SDK? KTR SDK? Basing this from what I've seen online), but I'm pretty sure it's not HAC. HAC is unknown.

So I guess HAC SDK 1.0 is not that recent... Probably late news but still...

1.X would mean post-beta (ie. 0.X). As in this is becoming a finalized initial release of the SDK for non-internal or major partners.

I have no idea about coding, why would it make sense?

HAC. Handheld and Console. Its a logical code name if that is for the NX (or at least that translation of the letters would work perfectly).

Ah, I see. Thanks! Is there a similar connection with the other console's internal codenames?

When two obscure Twitter users in the past week are possibly the only people on the entire Internet to publicly mention NX' codename, you know they're not kidding around with those NDAs.

HAC= Hold All Calls, NX is a mobile phone confirmed?

Does anyone know who the person who tweeted that is? Indie dev, journalist, something else?
