It's funny too see how half of the posters says the game is slower compared to FIFA 16, and the other half says it is faster.
I thought it was slower.

Played a few matches, overall I like it more that fifa 16 a game that felt to defensive and limited my attacking options.
-Game feels faster and more ofensive oriented
-Frostbite is a nice adition, but it didn't "wow" me
-holding the ball feels a bit op
- sliding tackles feel great.
Also regarding corner kicks, free kicks and penaltys
Or half the people that say the game is gorgeous, and the rest saying it has PS2 levels of graphics...it's just the way things are here
is The Journey meant to auto play in Pro Camera mode? mine just played in Tele, couldn't make out where my guy was when off screen as he wasn't highlighted very well in the radar.
That can be explained by the platform though. Unless the speed is also different for different platforms.
I've played it on PC at max and PS4 and I'm not seeing much difference.
Isn't that the same kind of tutorial you can disable by klicking R3?Am I being stupid or have they fucked penalties up when playing with someone on the same console?
There is literally a giant arrow that shows the other guy where you're shooting!

I am more surprised by the people saying they dont see any difference to Fifa 16 for the gameplay and/or graphics. The game plays a lot different in many areas. Defending works a bit different now, attacking strategies dont work the same, crosses, corners and shots all feel notably different as well.
I am in the "slower" camp as well, while agreeing that some attacking movements feel quicker. It feels like its slower overall, but there is less time to react to players approaching your goal + shooting.
this really isn't true. against AI PES is better, and honestly it's not even close. I buy both every year, but sure go ahead and tell me I'm wrong.About this thread:
No problem with people prefering PES or FIFA, but objectivly, technically wise, being it graphics, ambience or gameplay, there's no way in hell PES is superior to FIFA.
Pes has been a joke for a ton of years and it's mile away from FIFA, and it's their own fault for it.
Reading adjectives to FIFA like "Robotic" in comparision to PES, makes me wonder if this isn't full of joke posts or something.
Gameplay wise, that's just not true. PES has been catching up since the move to Fox engine and this year rivals if not beats FIFA. I certainly enjoy it more based on my time with both demos, and I'm not the only one. You may have a different opinion but that's all any of these posts are, opinions. PES hasn't been a "joke" since the turn of the decade, and 2017 is nothing short of excellent. There's a difference, obviously.
But i think you feel the ground up being 16 more than when the demo came from past versions.
Like, it has the core base, but with everything tweaked to feel and play better.
And this is a compliment to the game, from me.

About speed:
I understand the division on the thread about it. The game is slower, but the superior runs made by the teammates controlled by the CPU make us have more options, making the game feel faster.
About the demo: Going to try checking out the new celebrations and skill moves, and then is either fouling everyone and switching sides to practice free kicks or not picking up the demo anymore. Not being able to play online vs humans just kills it for me.

If anything, PES wins that contest for me, although that could just be that I've put far more time into PES than I have FIFA last year - I don't really understand what freedom PES is restricting, for me it always had a more "random" feeling where anything can happen, goals are more varied, and the emphasis on tactics and systems, especially in the latest version, really helps each game feel different because each team plays differently.I only play online. Vs humans.
PES might be a better solo experience, i give you that, no problem at all, but the core mechanics of the gameplay, the amount of freedom, the stuff you can do on FIFA, it's miles above what you can do on PES.
I understand that from a solo player point of view, playing vs a more organic AI, even with inferior gameplay, might be a lot more satisfying experience, and i agree with that.
Can't say it's the case though, since i don't play single player.
What didn't you like with 2015? 2014 was the new engine move so was pretty barebones, FIFA 07 style, but I thought 2015 was pretty good - 2016 in most areas was improved, besides the keepers who were universally awful, and the referees who might as well have not existed. Thankfully both of those have been improved for 2017 judging by the demo, although refs could still do with some tweaking. Arguably too whistle-happy this year and misjudging well timed tackles as fouls and even bookings.2014/2015 were very very poor imo, 2016 was slightly better but still a lot of the similar problems.
Took a gamble again and preordered both, if PES 17 is more of the same like last year I'll probably sell it asap.
One more thing:
- The Journey, although i hate playing vs CPU, intrigued me. And my reaction to E3's reveal was like "Who the fuck wants to play that".
Played a match. I liked sliding tackles better in FIFA 16, as they seem less useful now. The pace is definitely not faster, although reactions and inputs are quicker than before. Goalkeepers are still pretty good. I like the new throw ins and penalty kicks. Anyway, that was just my first match.
I'm ehh on the whole Hunter story. Doesn't seem like anything I'll play in the full game. AI and opponents playstyles are still crap unfortunately.
I dont know why some are angry that theres people comparing it to PES, it's the closest direct competitor.
I myself think PES 2017 is superior in many levels, but I would be getting FIFA because I rather like what I played in the career mode and the stupid region lock on PES 2017.
Imagine going into the PES thread and saying oh fifas superior here "tell me I'm wrong"I dont know why some are angry that theres people comparing it to PES, it's the closest direct competitor.

Just responding to other saying it's not as good. It happened a fucking ton in the PES threads last year.Imagine going into the PES thread and saying oh fifas superior here "tell me I'm wrong"
It wouldn't fly
Is love a third serious competitorJust responding to other saying it's not as good. It happened a fucking ton in the PES threads last year.
The PES impressions thread had people saying FIFA 13 was better than it. Shit happens when there's only two competing games on the market.
Sliding tackles are still awful as they don't travel far enough, in PES they are spot on.
Same, man. I bought PES last year cause I thought it was a better game but Konami fucked it with the data packs and they never patched the refs. Bought FIFA two months later and played it a lot more. I think the PES demo is better than what I've played of the FIFA demo so far (though I did dislike both at the beginning). But I'm still probably going to get FIFA because I need a football game to scratch the itch and I'm not trusting Konami. Is love a weird serious competitor
Ea is lazy and KONAMI are, well they're KONAMI

How to disable control tips on the player? No rematch option right?

Where has that happened this year in the PES thread?I'm not feeling it a huge amount, but I'll wait until my brother gets the full version since for whatever reason, shit sometimes gets radically changed.
So, every year then?
That post was responding to another post which did seem to suggest that people couldn't possibly consider PES to be better than FIFA:Imagine going into the PES thread and saying oh fifas superior here "tell me I'm wrong"

Imagine if some other studio steps up and gives us a better offering than FIFA and PES...

This is pretty much the reason. Look at the amount of people who say lack of licenses turns them away from PES, and that's with PES having some licenses they can get, and making it as easy as possible to correct the rest.I expect it must be real fucking hard with FIFA having a hold on pretty much everything. Why even bother?
