Digimon World: Next Order coming to PS4 early 2017

either NB are oblivious, or it sold bad (which I don't think it did) or they think pirating has made it dead. (which I doubt)

I think its the first.
I don't have solid numbers but based on the digital store ratings, it actually did far better than most niche Japanese games which. I hope NB changes their mind if it is indeed true.

There could be only one explanation for this: Sony might be phasing out Vita in west. Namco isn't knonw to omit Vita versions in localization and if they do there must be legit reason behind this. We'll see, if Koei Tecmo's recent announcements are also missing Vita version, then it's true.

They're not going to tell publishers not to localize Vita games, we just got a PSP localization last year.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I'm so happy Cyber Sleuth did well enough to warrant this. I do prefer the Story games but will buy this to enjoy and also support the cause and get more released. Has there been any news on a new game in Japan yet?

Nothing yet. There might be something related to the new anime Appli Monsters. Though that's most likely a phone game.

Yeah but if it's true, big publishers like KoTec or Namco would be among the first to abandon the system. They don't have XSEED's crazy courage.

Oh well, if it's not on Vita I'm just gonna buy something else.

It's not like Cyber Sleuth was a masterpiece, and I haven't seen a single person saying this was better than CS.

Where does it say that?

What? PR even released box art

Fuckin' A; did my part with Cyber Sleuth, will happily come back for this.

Unless this is true, because that's why I went with a PS4 version of Cyber Sleuth instead of Vita to begin with. Fuck digital.

The trailer GameSpot uploaded mentions "exclusively in digital form".

If you ever want retail ones again you'd buy the shit out of this.

Don't you give me that. I bought Cyber Sleuth on PS4 day 1, I already did my part.

The Appmon games are for 3DS. There's a F2P battler coming out soon and a fleshed out RPG for next year. It's for kids and not in the line of CS or N0.

Henkaku new mass piracy prevented this for Vita case closed. :p

Bandai Namco US just announced a western indie game for Vita a few weeks ago. If Henkaku was going to kill games, one would think that would be the first to go and not a multi-plat localization.

Their excuse is going to be that the PS4 version is an expanded re-release and that they couldn't get that back down to Vita. Given the game runs on Unity, lol.

No Vita :(

I bought Cyber Sleuth and SAO: Lost Song on PS4 and liked them, but once I got them on Vita, it was fantastic having them portable. Shame this isn't coming to Vita.

I'll still probably buy it on PS4.

Appmon is getting a 3DS game.

CS vs Next Order is an apples vs oranges comparison. They are completely different types of games. That being said: CS was (arguably) the best Story game, while some feel Next Order lags behind the original World in some respects.

Cybersleuth was pretty great overall, I really enjoyed it. I would be interested in this but I'm not sure how much I'd enjoy my Digimon devolving or dying permanently. I'll definitely keep an eye out for it though and get a better feel for how it plays when they start giving us more info in English.

wait what.

and petitioning and complaining for a vita version sometimes does work. #Looksatsadventuresofmana #looksatiamsetsuna

Might have to pick up a jp version after all... I NEED digimon world on vita as well as ps4.

Also, weird that there was no gameplay =/.

I'm not sure on this. I mean Cyber Sleuth was also a expanded rerelease but Vita version was also localized. It's Namco, they have never skipped Vita version at all. This is their first and there has to be more valid reason behind this.

I can totally believe if the hack actually killed Vita in west prematurely (yes prematurely).

I liked the idea of the Digimon World games, I had the first one on the PS1 but I didn't really understand what to do or where I was going wrong and why I always ended up with Sukemon.

I did love Cyber Sleuth though and will be 100% up for future RPGs like that.

Too bad if there's no Vita version.

I haven't finished CS but I had fun with it. Hopefully they change their mind.

I'm planning to get PS4 to play Persona 5 anyway. But if it comes out after Persona 5, I'm not sure I will have time play it.

I don't know why, Digimon has always been appealing to me more than Pokemon. So at least I'm glad that they keep localizing its games.

Not sure about World series though, I also hate it when my Digimons die. Wish it could be more like Pokemon in that regard.

I'm tired of having to petition for things. If they don't want to release it on Vita fine, I wont buy it. There are other games to play.

I agree 100%. It made sense to petition for games years ago, when Namco had ditched the Tales of series and other companies neglected their own franchises, but I'm done with that.

I did my part and I bought Cyber Sleuth for the Vita. If they don't want to release this for the Vita, I won't buy it. Still, I'm very happy for people who were waiting for this announcement and I wish it does well for Namco.

They got me the short hairs on this.

Even taking into account the not necessarily bad stuff, but disappointing things I've heard from people who've played it:

http://www.digimonworld.org/2016/05/welcome-back-to-digimon-world-critical.html

STILL, it's still no matter how compromised with RPG elements a DW1 like game something I've been waiting to play a new installment of since, well DW2 failed to give me that in 2000.

Shit I'm going to need to find a cheap PS4.

Cyber Sleuth's updates came alongside the game's localization into other Asian languages, which was also met with the PS4 port. Next 0rder for Vita has already been localized into a few other Asian languages.

The extent of the expansion is also a lot larger than CS':

While the original Japanese version of the game for the PlayStation Vita had 50 sub-quests, Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer B.B. Studio are including about 120 sub-quests after feedback from players.

Though, based on those screenshots the game still looks like butt.

I just remembered the scourge that is all star rumble... How could they give that shit a physical release, on the ps3 when the ps4 had been out for a year. But this is suddenly not viable. The ps4 version of Cyber sleuth was oos everywhere for weeks after release in the UK at least. This is ridiculous.

Shouldn't be too hard with the original PS4 prices most likely dropping fast.

That means there won't be online cross play like in Cyber Sleuth, so PS4 version might be exclusive to west. But it says that they heard feedback from Japanese players, so they're going to release PS4 version in Japan but no cross play? That's the stupidest thing I've heard today.

Don't bring up old wounds. I'm of the mind that was just a massive troll.

My first thought as well. Nothing on that trailer says digital only....

Cyber Sleuth sold really well, I this this one will also get physical release.

From reading the other article it seems like the EU release my get a physical version while the america's release is digital only. Not a huge deal since the system is region free but does make the dlc a pain in the ass.
