Digimon World: Next Order coming to PS4 early 2017

The petition I signed back then was about Re:Digitize:Decode but I'll be happy with this one instead since it seems much better.

Well, this is an absolute bummer. Ever since Cyber Sleuth came out I've wanted a World game, one finally releases and gets localized except not on the handheld it originated on.

I'll probably pick it up for PS4, but it'll be down the line, I just don't have the desire to play lengthy RPGs on home consoles anymore.

Cannot express my disappointment at them skipping Vita though.

For what I've seen, I'm not going to enjoy the gameplay in this title and it doesn't seem to be getting any graphical update for the PS4 port, so I think I'll pass. It's good to see it's coming, but I rather have another Digimon Story.

It's very bad not getting the vita version, but from gematsu comments we are not losing anything good, they say it has less digimons than cyber sleuth, it can be finished in 8 hours and on vita it's a technical mess, i dunno if true though.

It seems that they are putting more effort into this release. Besides the english dub it will get german, spanish and probably more subtibles in Europe.

Well I did my part and put a pre-order in. Gotta show support... somehow. Interesting thing is that my Prime savings isn't coming up when I checked up. Hope that's not a red flag or anything :/
It's not.
Newer listings always take a few days to reflect Prime discounts, but always, always update eventually.

So with the Amazon listing still up... I wonder if Amazon has an exclusive physical print for it, kind of like Gravity Rush? It's still a weird thing.

I think Namco Bandai NA needs to clarify whats going on, because we cant take all the info from NAE

According to Meristation (on of the oldest videogame outlets in spanish) the game is only seeing a PS4 port due all the improvements done using the PS4 power. A massive graphic overhaul being the biggest change. Meristation says that where it was just sky in the background for the vita version, on the PS4 version they added buildings and background elements to enrich thr scenery.

It also says there is multiple difficulty levels, 12 new digimon and more than 30 new quests

I really can't see why they didn't just develop this as a multi-plat in the first place lol.

Coming to Vita after all? Don't know what to believe anymore lol

Bandai Namco will bring Digimon World: Next Order to North America and Europe for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in early 2017, the publisher announced. In both North America and Europe, it will be released physically and digitally for PlayStation 4, and digitally for PS Vita.

(Editor’s Note: This post was originally published on September 14 at 9:00 p.m. Bandai Namco sent Gematsu an updated press release at 5:00 p.m. on September 15, clarifying mistakes in the original press release sent out on September 14. The original press release indicated a PlayStation 4-only, digital-only release.)

Excited to see that Cyber Sleuth did well enough to get more Digimon games localized. That said, this game doesn't look like my kind of thing (preferred the gameplay from Cyber Sleuth) so I'll pass.

Coming to Vita after all!

press release said:
BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. the premier publisher of anime videogames today announces Digimon World: Next Order is coming to the Americas for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita computer entertainment systems. Digimon World: Next Order for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita is scheduled to launch in the Americas in early 2017 through the digital PlayStation Stores, and the PlayStation 4 version of the game will also be available at retail stores on the same day.

It sounds like a fair amount of stuff is being added, so I'll look forward to when the Japanese version gets patched like with Cyber Sleuth.

I would like to go back and raise some more Digimon in this game.

why does it gotta be Q1 2017 though? we already got horizon, tekken, persona, yakuza, and god knows whatever the fuck crammed up in that space of time. can't they bring it this year?

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but not only is PS4 version getting more sidequests (increased from 50 to 120), we are getting 12 more digimon. So far they have revealed Marineangemon, Dianamon, Minervamon, Justimon, Boltmon, Shinegreymon B and Rosemon BM.

After becoming surprise monster of Cyber Sleuth, I am happy that Marineangemon is coming back. As for other 5? Who knows if they are champion or ultimate digimon, but I have a feeling remaining 5 are other popular missing Cyber Sleuth mega digimon. So probably some of these: Beelzemon BM, Cherubimon Vice, Saberleomon, Piemon, Pinochimon.
