Any idea when this will be unveiled in october?

They are going to need to talk about Pokemon in week or two before the Nov 18th release. They are already trying to get the NES classic news out of the way. It seems like the only next step at this point is NX. No WiiU news that needs to get extended coverage. 3DS was already covered. Zelda had the longest coverage it could ever need until launch.

You can't expect an entire month of Oct to be newsless. It has to be inbetween like the 15th or else it would seem like a giant empty gap was placed in the calendar.

I tried to look for videos to at least see if it's always floating even when the base is turned off.

Couldn't find any, it was just to see how it was floating. My first thought is that the base produces an electric current which will induce a magnetic field. The ball has a magnet in it as mentioned in the videos so the magnet in the ball is being repelled by the magnetic field in the base.

This is just a simplified explanation. As I saw in videos, people were mentioning it's only good as a novelty factor and not a speaker compared to regular speakers.

Okay perhaps not her unless none of rumors/speculations don't come to fruition before October ends.

Well then she can be held accountable for what she said.

I just find it a bit weird how crazy folks are getting when we are JUST starting October. There is no reason to start slinging shit bricks at Nintendo when literally all of the hysteria has been manufactured by fans.

Plenty of time left on any timeline that is sensible, folks.

Since it's October already can assume that all previous rumors/speculations were false?

Schedules can always change. We're talking about rumours.

A change in schedule for the reveal of the NX doesn't mean the dev-kits that have been reported are false. (Especially that they were reported from different sources.)

Since it's October already can assume that all previous rumors/speculations were false?

The reveal date was always the most fluid part of the rumors. Nintendo could change that any time. It's entirely possible that in late July when the Eurogamer story was coming together, Nintendo could have fully intended to reveal in September but later chose to push it back.

So does missing that month for the reveal invalidate the rumors about what the system actually is? No. Those rumors are sourced by multiple reputable outlets who will vouch for the legitimacy of their sources.

Not that any of that will matter for people who have been rooting for the Eurogamer leak to be false...

We can pretty much confirm Eurogamers rumors are false since they said September was the reveal month. They hybrid is dead! It's dead I tell you! Super powerful innovate console here we comes. Yeeeehawww

Hey guys, what do you think of this "concept art"?

Edit: Ahh, this isn't new. Found it here from Graphics Horse.

Personally I think you shouldn't worry about the giant portable or gamey-ness factor. The tablet aesthetics can be saved for the tablet mode, making it look good with realistic controllers (~1.4 inch wide like Wii and the control areas of most portables) will be a challenge.
Functionally the closest real world example must be the Aikun Morphus: https://youtu.be/sr8SbLgHkzI
The controllers don't have to be as wide as those but they can overlap the tablet's bezel as much as possible, I think with something Wii remote width and overlapping the original bezels it should not be much wider than your mockup combined.

Now hear me out here.

Maybe it isn't a tablet-like device at all. Look at this thing. It has "detachable" controllers. The only thing missing from it is a screen which could be attached to the top in a clam-shell like design. What if the NX isn't a handheld at all, but a mini-console with a fan like an ultra-portable laptop with an HDMI out. Something you can sit on your lap, pop the screen up and have an actual controller for. You can attached an extra controller like the NES classic for multiplayer gaming and then plug the thing into a television via HDMI out and the controllers are then wireless or something (or have a long enough cord). That would be conceptually what I would imagine as a true hybrid system.

The NX has been staring us in the face for months and the NES Classic was the basic prototype.

Imagine a portable GameCube with a pop-up screen. That's the gimmick of the NX!
