Oh cool is that the tank from Halo on your Xbox? Lol

Yep it's this Mega Bloks set

I've been lurking this thread for a long time, I need to post my setup soon. Welcome to San Francisco Tabris. I moved here 6 years ago, at the rate things have been going I can't imagine what you're paying for that place.

You're gonna find it hard to believe but I think this is Vancouver... Not San Francisco.

For those of you with these lights on the back of your TVs, how have you gotten them to stay?

I purchased the SuperNight brand and they didn't stay on that well.

Also, did you cut them and use connectors on the corners or just wrap it around in one big piece?

Thanks

I purchased some cheap-ass LED strips off of https://www.aliexpress.com/ - They come with double-adhesive tape, that sticks really good on my TV. I wrapped it around in one big piece, since that was a lot easier than having to put on connectors etc.

Are you looking for multi-color with remote or just a single color?

I have a Philips Hue LightStrip Plus that I attached to the back of the TV with clear Gorilla Tape by just taping right over the strip. The LightStrip Plus comes with an adhesive backing but I wasn't sure if I was going to like the look of the light so I didn't want to use the adhesive in case I decided to return it. I wrapped the strip around the sides and top in one piece. The corners were a pain to get aimed so that they would spread the light evenly, but lots of patience and re-taping eventually took care of it.

Ah shit, Tabris got banned again... now I really fear whether he'll be back in time to make a new thread, since the last ban was quite long.

Just looking at his posting history since he returned, I really can't figure out what got him. banned, they're all pretty decent posts. Maybe it's self-imposed.

Probably for this. I'm sure someone else can take over if he's not back or permed.

Dude. Amazing setup. What kind of Elite Controller stand is that?

Managed to get the lighting linked up over the weekend. The colour's not to everyone's taste I'm sure:

Also worked on the cabling which is now encapsulated in white trunking attached to the skirting board.

That's very nice. Question, is your mouse not on a short lease with the cable being under your sound bar? Does it allow for movement?

Thanks, the whole setup took a few years to build. The soundbar has small raisers on each end which gives it just enough room for the mouse cord to move freely.

What's driving all this? And what's the ASUS device in the left corner?

Currently an I5 2500K with a GTX 970. A GTX 1070 will be installed next week,

I mostly play FF14 and SFV. My 2500K at 4.9Ghz has been so damn damn good to me, if the 1070 doesn't give a major performance boost I'll probably upgrade the cpu right afterwards.

I upgraded my 2500k to a 6600k after getting a 1070 and it made quite a difference. FPS ws a lot more stable since quite a few games these days are CPU bound.

My 2500k is almost 6 years old, I really should just pull the trigger right now and get a new cpu.

Best cpu ever though, it would be awesome if Intel could repeat this greatness one day lol.

Old PC and receiver died at the same time. My speakers are literally furniture right now.

I just love this room each time it gets posted. It's half the considered aesthetic, and half because it demonstrates how everything I need from life can fit in a small space. And it must force a discipline in not hoarding stuff. I assume it's a shared house, or living at home?

Sorry to hear about the receiver, but I guess that's a good excuse to get a Saga and Vidar to go with those speakers...!

I've literally been spending the best part of 3 years gradually getting rid of my "stuff". I still feel like I have way too much but I don't have the heart to turf a lot of things. Lego in particular takes up a ton of space.

My receiver died like 3 months ago and I haven't bothered to get a new one yet. I use my headphones 90% of the time these days so I'm not in a huge rush.

Very nice setups guys!

Decided to post my own having pretty much just completed my main one.

TV:

65" LG OLED E6.

This TV is ridiculous! Best TV out right now, nothing can compare to OLED. Highly recommend if you are going for a new 4K TV as this thing will wow you for SD, HD, 3D, 4K, HDR and gaming! For reference as this is primarily a gaming site: http://uk.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-usage/video-gaming/best - rated best TV out right now for gaming.

It also looks stunning switched off lol, the display itself is less than 3mm thick and printed on a sheet of glass! I hope I helped illustrate that with a 1 pence coin!

It also has a built-in custom Harman Kardon soundbar which for a TV sounds insane.

I won't lie it's not cheap but if you are like me and know you will keep this for a few years and demand quality then it's worth every penny. Mine even came with a 6 year warranty from LG direct. Check it out in stores you may get a bargain come Black Friday!

Hooked up to this TV:

Xbox (500gb HDD, coin-ops etc)
Xbox One Day One Edition (waiting for the S to come out in black!)
Xbox 360 Slim (glossy 250gb for online)
Xbox 360 Jasper JTAG (1tb, behind TV)
PS4 1tb
PS3 (Japanese launch 60gb CECHA00 modified running CFW with region-free PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, SACD playback)
Nintendo Wii (Modified with WODE Jukebox for full Gamecube playback, 500gb, also behind TV)

gH9nxGUl.jpg

In total via emulators, out-of-the-box functionality and modifications to the above systems, I have over 30 consoles available to play and controller-wise everything is wireless.

Also have a huge electronically reclining leather sofa that can comfortably hold 6 people, ideal for long gaming sessions.

I have many consoles that are not hooked up and will simply include some highlights of these which include my sealed 20th Anniversary PS4, completing the trinity of the originally announced PS3s from back at E3 2005 and my rare Sega D-Direct solid black Dreamcast all boxed, complete and mint:

I also have in another room a more retro non-HD setup with a 42" TV (N64, Dreamcast, PS2 etc) and a gaming PC which I will post when I clean it up a bit more!

Cheers.

Consoles would look better in white for your setup I think. I still have my white PS3 phat in the closet, it's beautiful.

I had thought of that and had experimented with my other 360 (white), fat white PS3 (yes I totally agree with you, beautiful console!) and my white PS4 but as much as it did look nice the contrast just wasn't there and the TV then looked totally alien and out of place!

Plus I don't have a white original Xbox and love the glossy 60gb PS3 with chrome trim.

You got a great 1/2 a setup going, what are your plans for getting some good quality audio in there to complete it? I'd hate to see such a lovely screen and setup not paired with a great sound system.

Thank you!

I had originally planned to take my old system from previous setup that I had hooked up to a Pioneer Kuro TV (RIP plasma!) but the built-in soundbar is amazing on this TV. Normally I wouldn't give a damn about a TV's sound as it's all about the features of the picture etc but I was totally wrong, I am very impressed and for the time being I won't need it.

Every review I've read pretty much sums up my thoughts on the audio...Harman Kardon did an excellent job with this thing: http://www.trustedreviews.com/lg-oled65e6-review-3d-sound-and-conclusions-page-3#tr-review-summary

I like that stand. I've been looking for a similar one, which doesn't have a back wall, so the airflow is better. Although, I'd prefer one without a glass top shelf.

Thanks man!

Lol someone who understands. It was a total b*tch to find something like this for airflow (and size) and yes I was the same regarding the glass but luckily this is frosted glass so it is actually translucent.

I bought it from Dwell in the UK, would highly recommend!

The color is also perfect for me, as I have an old white warehouse shelf I bought from a flea market at the moment. Here's an old pic of it.

The only problem is, that the metal shelves resonate and accumulate heat, which is why I've inserted a wooden plate under the PS4. Wooden shelves would be the best option for me, both practically and visually. I also doubt the stand you have is available here in Finland, but thanks for the tip.
