I want to ask something, my friend just bought a PS VR and he can't find any PS move for PS4 ( sold out everywhere ) Can he buy the PS3 PS move, are they identical or should he wait for the PS4 one ?

So last night I was playing Driveclub VR and loving it but decided I wanted to switch to Thumper and it immediately made me think of Wipeout. Running at a high frame rate, high speeds, loads of colour but keeping the fixed car perspective (like the beetle in Thumper) for those that suffer from motion sickness and having the ability to go cockpit for those that don't would just be amazing. No Sony Studio LIverpool sucks.

In my normal living room setup, I have large south facing windows to the right if I'm facing the TV - will that screw up tracking? My only other reference is my vive but that (a) uses lasers, and (b) is in a naturally more shaded room on the other side of the house.

Sorry man, I can't help as my setup doesn't have natural light coming in to the room.

I'm using the Gold Wireless Headset with one of these:

It's awesome because the cable is of a perfect length so you don't even notice it, plus the headphones don't need battery when running 3D sound.

Highly recommended

What is this cable called?

I just NEED a full game of that Playroom platformer. So amazing. Feels great to play and shows perfectly the potential for hidden things and new gameplay VR can bring to any genre. I wish I had figured out how to
move the propeller platform
though, must have missed something obvious.

Find a friend - 2nd player has an ability that helps here.

Just had a nice long session with Job Simulator. Wow. This level of interactivity is what games have been missing for a long time. It adds so much to be able to reach out and touch, play around with and use the objects in the game world. I wish the open ended stuff was more procedural - random customers coming into the mechanic shop, random tasks to complete at the desk - but it's still pretty darn good.

I think what I'm surprised with the most about VR, is how after a few days, I'm clamouring for VR games in the style of Myst, rather than the usual stuff I play - like Destiny, or Elder Scrolls. I want to explore new places, and solve cool escape-room puzzles. I never would have pictured that before buying in. "Walking Simulators" are suddenly a lot more enticing.

No unfrotunately just kitchen for now. Yeah it's been shown at trade shows, but apparently that demo needs some serious tweaking for nausea purposes atm. I might be making this up, but I could've sworn they had hinted at bringing a patch to the demo to test it.
Camera control is taken away from the player at times. Like when you lean in and open the cooking pot. Big no no.

A few people have been a bit curious about this so I can chime in here:

I have had no issues with using PSVR while sitting in front of my projector. I was a bit worried this might be a thing considering there is a big bright light pointed in the same direction the camera faces.

I have a 100" screen, and when sitting ~5 feet away from the screen, it is a near match for putting on the HMD in medium view.

Sports Bar VR is a bit rough. The tracking just isn't working for me, but I think it might just be standing experiences in general for me because Job Simulator is terrible too and I don't have a stand to mount the camera about the TV.

I did have one of the most intense, real games of air hockey against the computer though. Holy shit.

Overall it feels like a game built for the Vive but without proper room scale it falls a bit short. Messing about trying to move around the space is more difficult than it should be and I couldn't for the life of me work out how to hit the cue on the pool table properly.
Still there's something to it and there's nothing else like it on PSVR.

Also, where's the OT?

I tried SportsBar VR as well. I didn't think it would be good, but I was just too curious. However, there are some interesting things in here. The Pool game for instance actually works rather well. The HULK mode (keep both Move buttons pressed) is the key here - it allows you to move and rotate the whole table in any direction, and then you can very easily line up your cue. HustleKings VR looks much nicer, but now I wish it had this control scheme, as it works really, really well. This is something to keep for a lot of other games.

This game is also an example however of showing that some games just can't track the Move controller when it is in front of the headset. This makes the Darts game in SportsBar VR very hard to play. You basically have to throw from besides your head, and then you will start hitting the board. I think it is interesting that the shooting gallery in VR Worlds London Heist (I love that shooting gallery!). Also weird that I had to keep switching controller hands because the darts always appear on the wrong one, or so it was for me.

I also liked the Air Hockey, though the graphical update of the puck seemed a bit on the slow side. Still very playable though, and having the table actually in front of you works great. But compared to say Danger Ball in VR worlds, it could still use a bit of graphics work (speed of graphics update).

I haven't seen the other games that are supposed to be in there yet, but this is definitely something I wouldn't mind. more of once a few of the issues are fixed.

And yeah, I tried tones of other stuff, and man, Playstation VR is the real thing. Most games look fantastic (DriveClub is probably upscaled, it really looks much worse than most games), the headset is super comfortable, the DS4 being able to be tracked is fantastic, and there are quite a few WOW games out there already. Spending way more time playing Playstation VR than I was intending to and I haven't nearly tried everything - there is just so much stuff!

Oh yeah I wish they ported over Sports Champions or made a new one or something.

I desperately wanted that before trying out a PSVR. Now I'm wondering if the tracking issues would make it much less fun to play. On PS3, playing regular Move games, everything worked perfectly. Things are quite finicky on PSVR in comparison.

I just imagine trying to play disc golf and the hand I'm throwing from is moving back and forth and jittering when I'm trying to aim.

So, I finally set up my psvr last night after work and couldn't put it down til 4am est. Omg without playing a single game I'm so sold on this. Sony or oculus or vive should spend some time showing off what is possible with animated movies. I watched allumette last night and I've never been so invested in watching a 20 minute show before. It was truly amazing and everyone who has vr needs to watch it. Just feeling like you are inside of the movie and could walk around peak inside objects and inspect every little thing in view was incredible. I will be showing this movie off to everyone. It is free. Watch it. Allumette!

Back then one game was much better than the next as well. Something like Move Fitness ended up modeling a full skeleton based on the position of the Move controllers and even tried to track your head to get that to be more accurate. Head tracking didn't work that well with just the camera back then, but now that should work great with the VR headset!

My Ps4 pro is pre-ordered. I am finding a lack of information on it's enhancements for PS VR. Does anyone know what it will do? Will it improve graphics?

Yes it will. I have three 5x3m south facing windows and I have to close all the blinds if I want to use PSVR during the day. Early hours to 11am and 6pm onwards are fine for me without closing the blinds but between 11am and 6pm it is almost unplayable without shutting the light out.

Actually it can still have problems with the blinds closed. I was playing it yesterday and after about an hour of perfect play it when ape shit. Took the headset off and there was a slither of light that was hitting the camera. If you know this it is fine and easy to work around. Be better if I didn't have to though.

Was just playing Little Big Planet 3... it's a shame that franchise isn't as successful as it deserves. Every level in the story is fantastically designed. Time for LBP VR?

We know very little, aside from 2x the render resolution on Farpoint. Quite clearly, PS4 pro is capable of improving the image quality, but it will likely be up to the dev to implement a pro patch.

Now that PSVR is out they will start the marketing machine for PS4Pro for sure.
Today I got a first e-mail from Sony with PS4Pro information and this will intensify in the coming weeks.

And they will play PSVR enhancement card for sure, just closer to the launch.

A decent amount of developers have confirmed supersampling to fix the AA, higher resolution, higher framerates and double the pixels, so pretty much an incredible jump. Now, it's up to the developer to implement this update, but most will jump onboard.

Good to hear. I had no trouble sitting the first night pointed at my projector. Last night I played some standing games so I turned the projector off because I thought I'd lose tracking. I want to be able to keep it on when I start showing friends this thing.
What is your set up while playing? I had to lug a chair in and reset the whole thing up each time. Kind of blows.

I'm looking for the cheapest headphones (not earplugs) that I can use with this thing. I'll get some better ones in 2017. Can anyone help?

PlayRoom VR platforming level is really amazing, It was serious wow moment for me.

All VR demo disc games were really amazing, sense of presence was like nothing I have experienced in a long time...VR exceeded all my expectations really. Amazing

Is that the game that they played on Game Grumps a while back?

Probably. I haven't watched GG in a while but one person has the headset on and can see the bomb while the other person uses the TV screen to read the manual.

It is SO fun and would be an incredible drinking game.

To those worried about tracking of moves etc

When move first released on the PS3 the tracking was mostly terrible with very similar issues seen on the PSVR games, a patch or 2 later move games on the PS3 were perfect 1-1 with no glitching or distortion, I was playing start the party with my daughter a few weeks back and the tracking on that is absolutely flawless now.

I'm sure that and the headset drift can be addressed with updates, the VR seems to have its own FW too meaning it should be easy to update.

So I completely flinched a bunch when getting shot at in the chase sequence during the London Heist. I completely geeked out during the final explosion when the bad guy went flying in slow mo. He flew past my window and I was literally able to lean oUT and look back. Also ducked down and looked up and saw debri and more of the explosions. Insane. Absolutely insane. Also the fight scene at the end hand me dodging to get out of their way.

Ah CEX.. £500 for the headset. On the positive side they'll give you £420 cash for it. Didn't think stocks were that low to justify the markup

Just went into game to get my preorder deposit refunded as I'm going to bee too busy with work and two final fantasy games over the next few months to make use of psvr. Wish I'd known this beforehand!! Assumed I wouldn't get a profit as its not sold out.

I've never hit the 'purchase' button after playing a demo before. Thumper changed that. Holy hell what an effective demo for a game.

Also tried the Playroom platformer game after hearing everyone rave about it in here. I would love to play an entire game like this. There's a moment where you change your perspective a little bit and can see a little duder and it just seemed so natural and amazing. The immersion and sense of scale was fantastic in that game too.

I'm not the first to say it but we need WAY more of that Playroom platformer.

One of my favorite things so far. Tons of fun, cool mechanics, and dripping with charm. It could stand to be a little more challenging but they wanted to make it accessible to kids.

Why so bad? is it the graphics or the actual hardware?

By all report Batman looks great and DC looks bad.
Batman does look great. I'm talking about the actual resolution the PSVR unit can run. It's a far cry from native 1080p or 4K tvs. Everything in every game I have played looks like those sub 720p games of last gen. Maybe all the games and demos I have played are not running at the resolution the headset can provide but even the PlayStation menu is noticeably lower resolution. All I was saying is I expected a drop in resolution but what I didn't anticipate was a nose dive.

That is my only complaint though. Tracking is working great, it's comfortable, games are fun and work well for me. Overall I am super impressed.

How do you have the camera extending from the PS4? I felt like I had to move my PS4 to a regular tv to get it to work right. Do you have pics of your setup?

Is there a demo for Thumper that you can download? In Aus and it's not on the disc. On that note, is there a reason for the different demo discs across regions?
