Nintendo needs this thing before the end of fiscal. They've got nothing after this holiday. Unless they intend to rely on mobile revenue for a fucking year, they need to put shit on shelves.

we'll learn about the reveal on the 26th, at the investors meeting. we'll know about the machine that next week in november (most likely). then, it will launch in march, potentially on the 31st as nintendo likes to release things on fridays now, march 31st is the end of their fiscal year, and it would give software teams the absolute most amount of time to finish up launch software if it has to hit this fiscal year.

a 2d mario game will be a launch title, to benefit off of super mario run raising awareness of mario like pokemon go did for pokemon.

out of the many NX threads, most of which have random twitters, BS rumors, "opinons" and empty pseudo-leaks, this is the one that actually has a place here.

we just comment on when we think everything will happen. not sure what warrants a lock about it.

2 and 4 I'm not sure about. 2 could be Q1 2017 and 4 is just what I think is most likely. Surely there'll be some kind of Mario in the first few months even if it's a spinoff but 3DS shows that's not a guarntee.

So one thing that might hypothetically speak for a reveil this week are weak fiscal quarter results. Let's assume Pokemon Go's profit margin isn't as high as presumed by investors, Nintendo's own warning actively points to it. Also we barely had any game releases this 3 months so less fresh software sales overall. Now what could ease the impact of the earnings announcement on the share price is a major product announcement prior to the bad news. I don't have any data at hand that could back this hypothesis based on the corporate behaviour of other companies, but this is something I would use if I knew my sales weren't that gloomy...again.

To counter this a stock holder/broker might rely rather on Nintendo's new mobile ventures (see the growth of the share's value which is around $32 compared to the $14 in January) so Nintendo barely says a thing and continues to be weird....

Nothing on NX until post holidays. I want it Q1, but I'm starting to lean towards Q2. Feel like it's going to be announce and deliver though, not an uncommon trend in tech these days.

3D Mario may just be my hopes and dreams. They could ride the coattails of Zelda + some other relatively minor games until the holidays '17 fairly easily.

I'm staying with this until the investors' briefing. If we don't get any meaningful NX info by that point, then I'll start to question Nintendo's plans.

.- People are mostly in agreement that we will have info about the reveal of the hardware before this year end.

.- Opinions differ about when it will be shown, but most agree that it will be this year, I really doubt that. Q4 is a very busy part of the year and there's too much going on to people to turn heads and care for nintendo.

.- people really trust nintendo and remain confident about March 2017. I am on the pessimistic side though and don't believe in the latest info but we'll see.

Also, for one more prediction, I believe the Handheld Part of the NX will be slightly wider/taller than that bottom half of the New 3DS XL. It will be the same width as that bottom half, and will have a 720p Screen on it.

A source close to me tells me there will be a major reveal / info dump tomorrow, in game magazines. I, of course, cannot disclose my source, but let's just say he is a prominent Japanese developer that enjoys retweeting photos of attractive Japanese women.
