The reichsadler, or the Imperial Eagle is a historical heraldic symbol in Germany, but that specific design on the cap is only associated with Nazi Germany.

I went to a public middle school there when I was in 6th grade, and we learned about WW2. We also learned about the Nanking massacre, although not in super detail haha...
