Creepy unsolved/paranormal/strange events thread

read through the Revelations of an Elite Family Member page. Fascinating. Never heard of that event. I'd have one simple question if I was around to participate in that. If he is a being that is in control of this world, then he/she should be informed with the many dialects of this planet. Take this post and accurately phrase it in as many as 5 popular dialects of my choosing. Traditional Chinese, German, Urdu, Portuguese and Swahili.

Now, babelfish could KIND of make that happen, but the grammar would be fucked.

That's what I was thinking at first, as well. I think the whole thing could have been easily orchestrated by a small group of people sitting around the same computer though.

I have been a personal witness to this event:

There has been sightings of the black car near a small town an hour drive to Ottawa, Ontario. We found out out the hard way.

The place is very eerie and quiet. Myself and 2 other friends were driving to Ottawa late night when we decided to stop by for some food and use the restrooms at a nearby small town. To reach the town, you had to drive through a section that had nothing but corn fields left and right.

While we were driving, headlights shone behind us. It was pretty bright. We decided to slow down and let it pass. My friend and I both looked out to see the car (1930s classic ford). Inside were an elderly couple. The man had a beard and a top hat. As the car passed by us, behind the moonlight, the man looked directly at us: he had no jaw, just the upper jaw and the eyes did not twinkle in the moonlight, as if they were dead eyes, or a matte black. We slowed the fuck down to a crawl, freaked out by what we saw. The driver, being the ass that he is, decided it was a good idea to chase the car down.

He gunned it. We were doing 120kph on this narrow and bumpy road. The next exit was a turnpike a few KM away. There is absolutely NO WAY that car had the speed to match us. There were no houses, no exits, just corn fields. Where it went, we had no idea.

fuck this, and I'm about to go to bed... *searches for some funny pics online*

My senses get really strong while under SP I can hear a drip a water fall from the sink in the bathroom really loud. Or anytype of noise that happens. There have been times ive been under SP for an hour, the tv was on and could determine the time. I litterly feel like ive died and im not a religous person but at these times ive asked god to forgive me and to take care of my girlfriend and daughter.
Although I can't really remember ever having SP, this does sound eerily familiar to when I was much younger.

I remember it being about 8pm or something, and just hearing absolutely everything whilst lying in bed. I can't remember if I was paralyzed or not, probably doubtful.

Whenever I think of people chatting in my head, I "feel" how I felt when I was younger. I can't explain it.

Russia's lost cosmonauts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Cosmonauts

Unknown couple (February 24, 1961)

There were reports of a couple launched on February 17, 1961 aboard a Lunik spacecraft orbiting the earth, reporting "Everything is satisfactory, we are orbiting the earth." at regular intervals.

On February 24, 1961, there were some garbled verbal transmissions about something the couple could see outside their ship, that they urgently had to communicate to Earth. What happened is unclear, but communication was lost. Around the same time the listening station at Torre Bert reportedly picked up an SOS signal from a craft in space. As the signal got weaker, it was assumed whatever craft it was disappeared into deep space.

Alexey Belokonev (November 1962)

Alexey Belokonev is reportedly one of three (two men and a woman) cosmonauts aboard a November, 1962 flight. The Torre Bert tower in Italy allegedly picked up a frantic set of messages relayed by the three occupants. 'Conditions growing worse why don't you answer? ... we are going slower... the world will never know about us . . '

I have sleep paralysis, extreme night terrors, lucid dreaming, exploding head syndrome, and experience visual snow.

None of that is fun at all.

The sleep paralysis seems to happen the most when I take a short nap...."wake up" and I can't move or breathe....yikes.

I grew up in Fresno, CA. My house was right on the urban interface where the suburbs met the farmland, so if you go one way down the road you hit civilization, go the other way, and... well, there are cows.

Anyway, there was this farmhouse out there in the boonies that wasn't dilapidated, but certainly wasn't in the best of shape. I was out driving past it one night with one of my friends, who insisted I pull over so he could tell me the story about this house.

Something something something, some old woman who couldn't have kids, something something something, she stole babies and killed them, something something something, she buried them in her yard, something something something, honk your horn and you'll "wake them up" and hear them crying.

Now this was *late* at night, but I was something of a douche in my teenage years, so I laid into the car horn to put this theory to the test. And holy shit, if you did not hear babies crying. I have never been so freaked out in my life, I couldn't get home fast enough.

Couple days later I was relating the events to someone else who informed me that the people who lived there had a couple peacocks on their farm, and apparently when peacocks cry out, they sound like babies. Turns out there are a lot of "ghost babies" that turned out to be peacocks when I search for it online, so I figure there's something to that.

Sorry my paranormal story is just plain normal : (

I lived in a house where I heard steps on the ceiling (lining? Not a native english speaker, sorry). And sometimes it was so strong that the ground shook. It scarred the shit out of me :(

Recently I heard a song by Jimi Hendrix which he made with Curtis Knight, called The Ballad Of Jimi.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uESlX0xc6FQ
This was 2 years before he became big. I'll post the lyrics:
Me and my best friend travelled down life's highway.
We talked of how things should be,
Of peace and love for you and me.
Of a life without hate.
Of a life filled with love.
On that first day, he played my guitar.
Somehow I knew, we travelled far,
We travelled fine, his distant star.
Many things he would try,
For he knew soon he'd die.
Oh, why did it happen?
All the sadness, he is gone.
But he left us something that time can't erase.
Now he's loved by us all.
Yes, he's loved by us all.
That is my story. It has no end.
Now Jimi's gone, he's not alone.
His memory still lives on.
Like the fox that he named,
Though they still gained less pain.

Five years, this he said.
He's not gone, he's just dead.
The last two lines here are important, because he wrote that song exactly 5 years before he died. He died september 18th 1970 and recorded that song song september 18th 1965. There's even a picture of the recording contract he made http://i50.tinypic.com/ff3ar5.jpg

It's really fucking eerie

Lucid dreaming isn't fun for you?

The two or three times I realized I was dreaming, I also realized I could do anything, so I flew. :D

Years ago, I took a shower and out of nowhere I heard a loud crackling noise.
Suddenly, both of my bath sliding doors simultaneously cracked into hundreds of pieces.
It cracked, without any of it falling to the ground. It just held in place.
It freaked me out so much, I didn't take even think of getting dress.
I just ran out the door with my towel and rushed into my parents room soaking wet.
I still don't know how it happened.
I wasn't taking a hot shower either.
The sliding doors wasn't even real glass, it was made out of a plexi plastic material.
This story might sound lame, but I still don't understand how this happen.
Can anyone give me an explanation of what could of cause this?

Sleep paralysis is no joke. It's the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced in my life. It still happens occasionally. Imagine having a nightmare and waking up in your bed, but your brain is still sleeping. Then you start hallucinating, but you can't scream because, even though you are awake, your brain is still asleep technically and you can't move. I basically force my paralyzed self to scream until my brain snaps out of it. It's horrifying.

As far as paranormal stuff, you can't throw a baseball where I live without hitting a civil war site. One place in particular, though, was really, really scary. It's called Gathland State Park near Burketsville (aka the Blair Witch Project place). The locals call it spook hill. Basically the story is there was a battle there and the confederates had to push cannon up this hill into town. They call it spook hill because if you put your car in neutral, supposedly your car gets pushed up the hill. I did this several times and even came back with a carpenter's level. It was level. Of course I smoked a lot of pot back then, so I don't even believe myself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_hill

I haven't experienced it myself so I can't say it is one thing or another but supposedly it is an optical illusion.

I saw something (very very similar) like that once. It scared the shit out of me. I slept with my light on for weeks. I was also going through depression at the time when I saw it.

Apparently they're called "shadow people" or something. I personally think it was a hallucination caused by my depression, stress, and lack of sleep at the time; but after that happened I've been more open to paranormal ideas and such.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_people

Yep, that is what they are called.

Heh, I've spent a lot of time reading this thread and the wiki links over the last couple nights.
Love this stuff, even though I don't believe it in, it still fascinates me. I'm intrigued by the paranormal, the strange and mysterious stuff that could somehow be possible, not the supernatural that occurs through magic and spirits and shit.

I'm in the mood for watching some X-Files now.

last week I was outside enjoying a smoke and it was around 2am and I'm standing there and all of a sudden I heard this yell and it sounded pissed. It sounded like an animal but not like a dog or cat. I stood there to see if it happened again but it never did. Never heard a yell like that before.

Extreme thermal shock?

EDIT: Whoops, missed the part about it not being a hot shower. I don't have a clue, then.

Well, I want to share a case of poltergeist with you, it's a bit personal though, but anyway...

When my grandmother died there was a funeral party naturally. Everybody was drinking, proposing toasts, talking about my grandma etc. And when the party slowly comes to end there is a time for a final toast or smth like that. So, one man stood up and said this toast. It was a warm-hearted toast so everybody listened to him and when he finished, people stood up and started drinking.

And that's when a loud cracking sound in the adjacent bedroom has occured. Everybody went there and found a curtain holder ripped off the concrete wall and lying onto the bed. Actually there is no human force that can do that.

that's it. I don't pay attention to the supernatural stuff, but I know it's there, I just don't really care. There are a lot of things in this world that can't be explained (yet) and I'm not sure if they need to be explained.

The Winchester House? Was built by the widow of the gun manufacturer and thought that only continuous construction would appease the spirits of all the souls claimed by Winchester guns.

edit: bah.. beaten by like 10 minutes :lol Was looking through posts to see if anyone answered my question and took too long lol

Edit: Arrgh.... Beaten three times over!

Although this is disputed, popular belief holds that the Boston Medium told Winchester that she had to leave her home in New Haven and travel West, where she must "build a home for yourself and for the spirits who have fallen from this terrible weapon, too. You must never stop building the house. If you continue building, you will live forever. But if you stop, then you will die."

lol that medium has a great sense of humour

This one's interesting. Berlin, 1939, a flower cart took off by itself and rolled approximately half a kilometer over levelground. Three hundred eyewitnesses.

Haha, I can relate. A few weeks ago I drove a little outside the city with my telescope to try and catch a sight of the early morning comet. So I'm parked on a dirt road and it's damn dark. Get my gear out, occasionally hearing peoples voices with no idea of how close or far away they are, sound travels weird in the country that late at night. Now it's a Friday night so the odd property out there could have people partying so I don't think much of it. But after about 20mins of stargzing I hear a bloodcurdling scream. I swear I completely froze. The scream happened 3 times in the matter of a minute and it didn't sound very far away. The best way to describe it would be the sound of someone getting murdered. Either that or some damn big animal that you'd not want to run into in the middle of the night. I coud hear dogs barking for miles, and I got the hell out of there.
