Obama says he was 'encouraged' by conversation with Trump

Once he settles in we will be back to the same old shitbird Trump tweeting at 1AM at anyone who said something mean about him.

He won't have time to tweet in the dead of night, he'll be so exhausted from constant traveling, meetings, speeches, rallies, publicity stunts, and paperwork that sleep will be all he seeks. Jet lag and all of that will eat him if he isn't prepared for this job.

For you.
Jesus, looking at the libs here crying. Drumpf is gonna be a great President and you need to realize that.

I mean, if you love racism, yeah, he's gonna be great.

If you give a single shit about anything else though, you're fucked. Immensely. The economy isn't going to get better. Your taxes are going to rise. Your jobs will continue to disappear. Corporations will get even more power. His climate plans will fuck up the whole world in a decade or two. He'll allow Russia to get more powerful and control shit geopolitically.

The only fucking way you can think he's going to be great is if you're a racist that cares about nothing else, or you're a mindless moron.

Let me remind you. This fucktard managed to bankrupt a fucking casino, and you're trusting him with one of the biggest economies in the world? You're goddamn insane.

I understand his need to represent stability in the nation and encourage trust in the political process, but all he is doing is helping to normalize bigotry and fascism. We're already seeing this happen in the press. Trump is not a normal politician. He's George Wallace in the 21st century. He's a danger to the country. We cannot normalize this.

How is the press normalizing the racism? Curious.

Nearly 60 million people voted for Don and he is President-elect of the United States. I'm not sure how you or we could prevent him from being normalized.

Practically everyone I've heard of speaking to him one on one says he is alot more down to earth in person than on a stage.

Why do I not believe him? :(

Because he gave no details.

Obama could have said, Trump is a good man. Are we supposed to believe that? Of course not. Donald is not a good man.

Obama's statement of "Encouraged" probably just means...he is willing to listen to what I have to say at best and at worst...he won't blow up the world on day one as everyone thinks he would.

Your average person, for better or worse, is more engaged by someone who speaks in a less refined, impromptu style like it's a casual conversation rather than a robot reading cue cards. Which, again for better or worse, was a difference between Trump and Hillary.

compare that to this, though.

Yup. If you use Google Earth, zoom into some of those deep red areas in the original map posted here. Lots of land, very small settlements(or at least seem like settlements, cause they are just handfuls of houses) spaced out every so and so. Few towns that are a probably a couple square miles big(which tend to be the average size of most major cities' "downtown" areas), and every so often, a larger town(3-4 square miles). I love to go one Goolge Earth to search the United State's great wide limits(probably something I wouldn't be able to do in real life). The things you learn about certain states and cities are interesting.

NeoGAF pivots from election experts, to polling experts, now body language experts. Everyone's Tim Roth in Lie To Me now.

Hehe. It's actually much better to judge body language via video. A photo is just one slice of time, so it can potentially be very misleading. Just look at how misleading it is if you catch someone mid-blink, and then describe them as sleepy.

Obama's not about to say "oh my fucking god we're screwed", even if he thinks so. He has to put on a brave face lest the entire world really grasp the severity of the situation.

There's a chance that Trump MAY have had a change of heart but I doubt it.

I wouldnt read too much into it. Even for a narcissist like Trump the position of President will be a little awe inspiring for a few days. This is just that period where he treats it with a little reverence.

Once he settles in we will be back to the same old shitbird Trump tweeting at 1AM at anyone who said something mean about him.

I don't think he can legally do that. His tweets need to be preserved as public record (as they are public statements from the President). They probably have to go through a person who screens them, before they actually get posted.

Trump, being president, actually loses a ton of control over his own life. The president has a lot of stuff he can and cannot do. And he's always being watched and recorded.

I'm not sure there's going to be any kind of widespread panic. That is one Red map. Even half of California is Red.

Wow

Oh man, my city did good in Mississippi. Maybe I have nothing to worry about when it comes to crazy alt right people after all.

Project Turn MS. Blue now in effect! I don't know why the coast is so red though. Maybe all of that casino money, and it being some gambling vacation spot for people that can't travel far to better vacation states.
