Some retail Xbox 360 games now have "plays on Xbox One" branding

I was expecting them to do more XB1 compilation discs like Rare Replay but this is even better. It's a good idea I hope we see more of it

I was the one that took the pictures. These have been at Walmart for a couple weeks (maybe?) so they might be a test. As far as I know Doom 3 and Fallout 3 are the only ones that look like this.

Wow. I paid good money for a used copy of Chrono Cross. In fact, I imported it from the US (to Germany) because there I got it for around $25 IIRC, while over here there was no decent copy to be had for under €90 or so. Same with Xenogears. Now I see CC for $15 new... awesome! I might actually get a copy...

If it's called Xbox One [subtitle] then yes. But if not, then no. Neither you or I know.

I can't remember who, exactly, but they have explicitly stated that Scorpio is part of the Xbox One family.

Edit: here:

Project Scorpio. Coming Holiday 2017, Project Scorpio will be the most powerful console ever created, with 6 teraflops of GPU delivering a premier console gaming experience including true 4K gaming and high fidelity virtual reality. Project Scorpio will join the Xbox One family and coexist alongside Xbox One and Xbox One S and all of your Xbox One games and accessories are compatible.

Great idea. This is a really good way of padding out the greatest hits retail section. It's also pretty awesome to see some of these game re-printed.

I won't lie. that's pretty brilliant. As long as the back of the package has the info about needing the connection to get the download version (or the discs just have that data), there's no downside to this.

Because Scorpio will play all Xbox One and Xbox 360 BC games.

They're not going to rebrand the 360 sleeves just to then rebrand them again when Scorpio releases. My guess originally was that the Slim and Scorpio will be called Xbox One S and Xbox One Pro.

Once they called the Slim the S it seemed locked in that Scorpio would be called the Pro. But then Sony came in and fucked that up. They'll need to find a new name. I doubt they call it Pro now.

Seeing stuff like this; I would just assume all developers would be in love with X1 BC. It's managed to allow these last generation games to still remain relevant.

I like the left example, but the right example would drive me nuts being mixed in a shelf with other Xbox 360 cases.

I might be crazy, but it seemed like last time I was in gamestop the BC games were priced higher used than non BC. Supply and Demand, I guess.

Yes, the GS prices fluctuate based on market demand. Desirable 3DS games like Star Fox 64 3D and Cubic Ninja went through similar curves where they decreased in price but eventually rose again.

Yeah, I was gonna say, if that dual Xbox One/Xbox 360 logo is a sticker or something removable, that'd be fine. But if it was actually on the cover art? Nope.

The GameStops around here have a couple shelves set aside that consist of Xbox 360 games that are playable on the Xbone.

I saw the left sticker example a month ago at a Wal-Mart? Maybe earlier? But that other one with the updated cover art is new to me, and I think it's cool.

I think it's a good move, I guess sometimes you can't remember every single game that's playable on the new system and this'll point them out. Might be helpful for Holiday shopping.
