Rabbids... In a Mario game???? WTF??

I need to kill somebody!! Does somebody want to die??

Expecting the worst. Hope the reveal trailer be good.

Well, at least Rabbids look more cool than Toads, who also deserve to be used a punching balls.

Good for Laura Dale having sources and all that, but... Is leaking things Nintendo was going to tell us eventually anyway really considered "great journalism"? I don't want to sound like a douche, but I feel like she's not unearthing secrets the public deserves to know as much as she's just spoiling the presents Nintendo has wrapped for us before they even get to give them to us... In the end I feel like it damages Nintendo and it damages us, and she's the only one who mainly benefits...

It's not the duty of a journalist to support the PR campaign of a company. It's the duty of a journalist to report the news as they here it from sources and have enough confidence in them.

I'd argue Rabbids is worse because it's almost as bad as Ninjabread Man, but from a major studio like Ubi.

Rabbids Go Home and Rabbids 3D are good traditional games, the first one rather unique as well. The other Rabbids games still are good minigame collections, so I don't see how Rabbids stick out as particularly horrible. Other than killing a new 3D Rayman at the time of course.

The miiverse for this game will be glorious.

Open to the idea. Potential for a lot of fun. Rabbid games haven't been great, but doesn't mean there can be a good one.

nobody, except one or two as really said the characters are trash, but the games they been in are. So.. yeah lets have it!

Not only are the other rabbids games some of the worst mini game collections ever made, but Rabbids go home only seems decent relatively because it's being compared to complete trash. It's an awful IP.

I wonder if this will actually make launch, even if that's the current plan. With 3D Mario coming day one, this would make a lot more sense as an April release.

And before anyone says "well, you didn't have to click on the thread" or "you didn't have to read this", I can't even scroll fown the list of threads without having things spoiled by the title in passing. It feels like every day there's something new that makes January a little less surprising...

I totally agree with you. If leaking information is what they need to do to get success then that says a lot about the content they produce.

Ubisoft is probably the biggest third party that consistently supports Nintendo's consoles, so I guess Nintendo had to throw them a bone eventually

Real talk;
Who do you trust more to make an enjoyable Mario RPG game in 2017?
1) Ubisoft with a Rabbids crossover
2) Modern day Square Enix

Going to be honest - does the world need a third Mario RPG franchise? It's just not an interesting concept to me. It does have day one shock value and that's about it.

edit:
[off topic]
Hopefully this means that the Smash Bros Switch port will have Rayman and Rabbids as playable fighters

HOLY SHIT. This could be everything I want in a video game.

Mario RPG return + varied party members + Michel Ancel IP.

Yeah and the Rabbids also aren't distinct enough as characters to take the limelight of Mario, if this were a Sonic crossover for example it would probably lose its focus.

No, and that's why I'm not too interested. IntSys already shifted to pure adventure games with the Paper series due to genre oversaturation, we didn't need another attempt from Ubisoft to just take it's place.

This is actually very exciting to me for some reason. I've never been a Rabbids fan but a turn based Mario RPG that doesn't seem to be Paper Mario or Mario and Luigi has my complete attention!

And I'm betting we still don't have all the launch games. This is going to be one insane year 1 lineup when all is said and done!

I'd prefer Ubisoft take with another franchise, or a new ip, meh. Tired of those Mario spin offs, like someone else mentioned there is already a Paper Mario ip to work on, Nintendo needs to fill the void in other genres.
