I barely recognize my home country any more. Very sad.

Are you fucking kidding me?

You really need to look into the history of media censorship in this country, and how hardcore porn basically became decriminalized by the (pun intended) "back door".

Basically these changes just impose the same guidelines imposed by the BBFC for all-types of video, and thus prosecution under the OPA - which is I guess at least indicative of consistency of approach.

Bottom line is that regardless of these changes, under the law as it stands today if material of this type was found on our computer, you would risk being prosecuted for possession of indecent imagery.

I'm not pro-censorship, and I think proscription of harmless paraphiilias like urolagnia is dumb as shit, but it needs to be understood that this is a standing legal precedent, not a change.

No it is a change. It's an amendment to a pre-existing bill.

Female ejaculation too?

Holy shit did Cromwell rise from his grave and start protecting England again?

You can extend section 63 as much as you want, but there has always been the backstop of the OPA, which has the catch-all clause. The point being moot anyway as a BBFC certificate is considered a legal bulwark against prosecution under s.63, and acts like urolagnia have been consistently proscribed by the BBFC. Ergo, no change.

Meh my VPN is ready for action!

Probably will end up being more annoying than protecting. Education will probably be more helpful and powerful than censorship.

This is beyond stupid... Someone read about the little death and took it literally? Or just a way for politicians to keep all the spanking at high class Dom bordellos for themselves?

Finally a reason to go back out into the woods.

I'll buy fifty something girly mags, all featuring female ejaculation, divide them up into ten bags and leave them around the UK next time I'm coming over :)

I wonder when the people who actually believe this argument will start publicly posting the username and passwords to all of their social media and email accounts because they have nothing to hide.

Clarkson did it in an article mocking people about their personal data being stolen then someone set up a charity standing order with his bank account details. What a geezer eez a nation treasure etc.

Can someone please explain this conversation I was having with someone about this. It's left me really confused.

Them: Fucking people moralising about things that don't affect them.
Me: You know for a fact everyone involved in that bill has been pissed on at least once
Them: As is their right
Me: That's their true fetish though, taking away freedoms from other people that they themselves enjoy
Them: You chat is still making like between fetish/watersports/whatever and bad peeps so I cba anymore
Me: Eh? You know i'm in agreement with you right?
Them: I know but the implocit links I cba with

...what? What links was I making with 'bad peeps'?

This is funny.

Oh, it's happening in my country, it's not so funny anymore.

So, just to be clear, l can do it with my wife but not watch it? Fucking LOL.

Also: it's OK to see domestic violence on EastEnders, but not to see sex between consenting adults.

You can watch Arnie pepper everyone with bullets, but not sex.

Uh-huh.

England Prevails!

But seriously... it's this happening? Is there anyway to stop it?
Maybe it's just leftie nerves, but this hard swing into mass surveillance and censorship is actually starting to scare the shit out of me.

Oh fuck off. It was one thing to ban British pornographers from doing such acts as squirting, but to now actively ban anyone from watching it is fecking ridiculous.

You were saying our government officials are both scummy and kinky.
They were reading it as you either kinkshaming those people or thinking they were scummy in part because they were kinky.
Think of it this way - If you say "X has done Unpleasant Thing, so who are they to stop others who want to do it" you're still implying the Thing is Unpleasant in the first place. That's kind of what your first comment sounded like. That person probably has some kink of their own and felt a bit insecure and defensive about it and the fact you might also consider that Unpleasant, and so they read more into your comment than you probably intended.

Hmm. Can kind of see that but I was merely pointing to the hypocrisies of those fuckers.

Given that all torrent sites have been blocked by the Government, every UK household must opt-in (essentially put themselves on a register) with their ISP to view adult content, and porn sites are set to have passport/credit card verification or be blocked by the Government, I have no doubt that personal VPNs will come under scrutiny sooner or later.

They will probably exempt business VPN use but I can see the 'justification' for a ban being that it interferes with the new Investigatory Powers Bill.

Since Brexit predicted the rise of Trump.

I expect God Emperor will follow UK's porn law soon with the US version.

My NAS has 900GB porn folder so I am fine. Who wants to buy CD stacks from me?

Related... here are the government agencies that can make a request to see your internet history.

There's no hiding your porn viewing habits from the Food Standards Agency.

Okay, I can accept all those police forces and government agencies as a given. I mean, the whole bill is meant to be so the government and the police can spy on us.
I'm struggling to see why all those ambulance services or the food standards authorities have any need or right to see my internet history though :|

This 4 finger rule too, why does that exist and does that mean large sex toys are going to be banned too? This seems to unfairly target women in this law.

The whole thing is bizarre.

How would this even be enforced? Are they expecting every single porn site in existence to implement geo-blocking like Netflix? What if they don't? Are they expecting ISPs to start policing every single website on the internet to check if it has porn?

From a technical perspective I just can't see how they can hope to even start accomplishing this.

Given that nowadays everyone can upload porn everywhere -- is this bill even possible to execute? It's one thing to require porn sites to put an age verification (yeah, like that ever worked) but you can easily find porn clips or gifs even on tumblr and the likes. Unless you ban the entire site, it's impossible to censor that.
