Nintendo Switch running Breath of The Wild on Jimmy Fallon

Probably stating the obvious, but this video wasn't for us. We were all always going to watch the reveal on 1/12/ and run out to pre order as soon as it goes live. This was to build hype for the casual crowd they've got to get back too. Fucking genius move by Nintendo, like him or not, Fallon is extremely popular.

He helped bring Full House back to the national consciousness.

He's doing God's work

I've got nearly $400 in rewards certificates waiting to be cashed out at Best Buy.

Preordering this thing as soon as possible.

What is it about that Miyamoto T-shirt? Samurai Mario? Is it related to the next Mario?
We clearly saw a Mexican inspired Mario level during the Switch trailer, could the next Mario be centered around the world cultures?

This is the #9 tending video on YouTube right now. Pretty great exposure for Nintendo.

Why did Nintendo pay for this exposure when they could have put that money towards a few more directs and a live E3 presentation? It's the Olympics all over again.

Yes, this is a reference

I think I'm now sold on the Switch. Zelda looks very nice and I'm excited over the excitement, it's been a long time. Don't know if I want to go digital or not.

I was also surprised at how good the Mario ios game looked. I think that's going to do quite well but the price might be a major barrier.

Buh, buh, buh, Fallon is so fake, boo hoo…

This coming from gamers, who devote themselves to synthetic imagery…

After watching the video fully, I admit I was a bit too harsh previously. Jimmy does seem to be legitimately creaming himself.

(I just came back here to post this, was not inspired by the last few posts above. But I still think Jimmy is a very safe place to promote your product.)

You're very easy to fool, then. Would you ever just LIST selling points to the people who designed the thing? He had a list of bullet points to say, and he tried to fit it all in one sentence. Ridiculously staged.

Still, very smart move by Nintendo to show the casualish audience that this isn't a periphery to the Wii.

It must be cool to be superior huh.

This was a lot more refreshing than watching Conan play FFXV very sarcastically and snarkily, insulting it the whole time.

(I don't know anything about ffxv, nor do I own a current gen console, just commenting on his attitude)
I am enjoying XV and that video was hilarious.

Jimmy Fallon does go over the top sometimes with his reactions, but his reaction in this segment seemed genuine.

Gotta start off with a personal attack, right?

Be sure to respond to this with "I'm just making an observation."

Actually, the correct way is to pose questions to the guest, so Reggie isn't awkwardly repeating the "official" line right after.

It could be Fallon playing a character, or he could actually know what he's talking about here. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt this time after giving it a proper watch.

This is a great way to reach more people. They obviously learned a lesson from Wii U as this is much simpler to understand for the masses than the previous effort. I'm not ready to usher in the new era of Nintendo but they are at least off to a better start than usual.

Was a bit direct, I'm sorry.

It all reeked of "and you can get all this for $9.99!" shopping channel. It didn't seem like an interview or conversation, but two people having two disjointed selling pitches simultaneously that occasionally acknowledged each other with an overreaction.

I'm detracting away from this discussion. Did anyone see those alleged additional bumpers?

How can a person be so annoying as Jimmy Fallon? He is so fake, Jesus Christ.

It's like an alien's idea of human joy. I wouldn't be surprised if the laughter stops from the minute he walks off stage to the second he walks on set.

I guess you two dont usually follow his show. There is even a meme about his fake laugh.

He really is difficult to watch. It almost ruined the entire segment for me.

Jimmy Fallon is such a tool.

You guys come across as total haters. Fallon was legitimately excited and seems like a nice guy.

Not hating, I just have a hard time watching him. He's always like this, so I knew what to expect going into the video. He obviously has an audience that likes that sort of thing, but it's not for me. Similarly, Pewdiepie has a large audience, but his content isn't for me.

I've already decided to get the Switch day one since the first infos anyway, but damn I really don't care about 3D Zelda games and the art direction in this one just turns my brain off everytime I see it. Previewing this game on a show like that means that it will be available at launch?
