We're probably reaching the end of major trailer releases. It sounds like Alien Covenant has a trailer that could drop soon, but outside of that I can't think of any other major trailers left besides Justice League.

It would've been rated by now. Not happening this year. My guess is February.

Were these other trailers rated in advance? I don't follow other communities or films as closely as these films. Spider-Man came out of nowhere to me. First I heard there would be a trailer was two days ago. I'm just generally curious.

Another question, does it need to be rated if it's just released online?

No, only needs to be rated when it is on TV and cinema.

TrailerTracker said if it wasn't rated by Monday then the book is closed on getting it this year.

Monday or Tuesday is probably right.

Some of the stuff we've got this past week was only rated a day or two before release and sometimes rated after it was released online.

I can see them getting it ready to play with the LEGO Batman Movie in Feb.

Could premiere it during the Superbowl weekend.

Superbowl will never happen. Each year DC fans think WB will finally push that button, but they never do. However, if they wanted to show they changed the tone of these films to the masses, the Superbowl is the best time to do it.

I think they shouldn't bother with showing a trailer during a big event like that, just release it on Youtube, it will get attention. No need to spend money on Superbowl.

THR is saying JL2 has been pushed back to make room for Batman. THR

After wrapping Justice League, Snyder is not tackling Justice League 2, as was the initial plan, but rather is focusing his attention on his long-in-development thriller The Last Photograph.

Snyder is still intent on directing Justice League 2, but that movie has been pushed back to make room for Ben Affleck’s Batman standalone movie.

What if I told that more people watch the Superbowl in its time slot than people watch a trailer on YT in its entire lifetime?

Youtube attracts the 18-35 year old crowd. The Superbowl is all ages. We're talking about a 25 million audience vs a 115 million audience.

Snyder really needs a palate cleanser. It's nice to see him doing something completely different.

Sadly, I don't think the project will attract the level of star that was originally attached (Bale and Penn).

Sure, but we're also talking about the DC movies which are universally hated.

We're also talking about DC movies that need to show the masses they've changed their tone for upcoming movies. Dumping it on YouTube isn't going to have the same impact as a Superbowl spot.

What I really hate about comic culture is you portray how you feel about a universal icon like Superman and Batman differently than how others feel, and "now you're everything that is bad about the world." You're suddenly the devil because you wanted to portray your own vision of a popular character. The entitlement of it all is just baffling. It's not even a Snyder problem, because the recent Batman arc has people turning on Tom King too. It's just ridiculous, and when you try to call it out suddenly you're the problem.

Agreed. Let's be honest, there are people who claim Nolan never made Batman movies either. They're just usually drowned out because they were well received.

I know someone who consistently argues the TDK series weren't superhero movies and that Batman and Joker could have been replaced with any ole action hero and devious villian and it would have still been the same movie.

Praise for Nolan drowned out the "Not muh" idiots arguing for completely nonquanitifiable aspects of the characters to be on screen

But nowadays theyve risen to the top of the heap in terms of loudness and annoyance factor

It can only benefit JL2 if Snyder can focus on something other than DC for a change. It might lend some perspective.

He has been rolling DC movies since, what, 2011? The guy must be beyond tired of Batman and Superman at this point.

I am convinced he could cure cancer and achieve world peace and they'd still bash him.

I predict JJ Abrams will be directing JL2.

I have no confidence JL1 will be anything other than surface level aping of Marvel movies, with none of their actual likable qualities.

I don't know. When I was watching that JL reel they showed during Comic Con, it gave me a kind of JL/JLU feel.

I liked BvS and Man of Steel, but I'd rather see a new director for JL2, doing tent pole blockbusters is taxing on a creative and I'd like to see another director take a shot at it.

If Warners is set on dictating the destination and route, I don't know if Snyder is the best person to steer the thing. Don't see JL being received well critically among the blogger crowds, and we will see how it resonates with audiences, but I bet they keep down the glib blockbuster route. Maybe they let Wan take it if Aquaman works.

I would have to assume if Ben wants it, he gets it.

He is essentially out, it seems like it will be more mid-level control

Though I liked someone else's suggestion of just not bothering with it. Like movies can connect/crossover but just make them their own thing so don't buckle under the weight of the universe.

We should wait for someone to make a universally loved DCEU movie before we appoint anyone... Jenkins hasn't made a good movie in what, 10 years? Affleck is gunning for Oscars, I doubt he wants to do only blockbusters.

As Marvel has shown, DCEU needs a braintrust to be overseeing this so even an idiot can come and direct, because eventually it will happen. (W Buffet quote still applies, but idiot may not be the right word).

Not going to happen. People want that Marvel money.
