Official "Trailer" of Seasons of Heaven for Nintendo Switch released

The music was cool.

I won't take the game seriously until they confirm that they have a devkit, or at least a publisher. Everything screams so much "fake game" that I just can't have any faith in it.

I really doubt the game will look anything close to that on Switch unless the specs are far higher than rumored.

Feel like they may have gave the story away with the heart rate monitor...

Let me guess, little boy is somewhere between life and death and this is his interpretation of heaven. Getting back to the light or reaching the end of the "quest" either brings him back to life or they some how they spin it and play it off a natural part of the life/death cycle.

I may be wrong...
I think they already mentioned in the French blog that the boy has

The downside to having powerful 3rd party engines like Unreal so easily available is that its relatively easy to make superficially impressive demos. I find looking at the state of the animation is a good indicator of the level of skill and expertise behind the shiny tech, and in this case its not great.

Not surprised about the animations. IronFall Invasion on 3DS is another visually impressive indie game suffering from very rough animations. I'm assuming convincing complex animations are difficult to pull off on a low budget.

They're clearly exploiting the Switch hype though. They don't even have the dev kit of the system it's an exclusive for.

It's hard to look at this and not come to the conclusion that a team of novices have taken on a project whose scope is well-beyond their abilities. Huge nicely-modeled world, but all the animation looks jank.

Indies, please stop announcing your games for Switch before even getting a dev kit to put some attention on your game.

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
This look so fucking bad. Like all those Nintendo games remade in unreal engine 4 by students.
Unfinished character animation aside, it actually looks really gorgeous, too gorgeous that I have lots of doubts that this is what it'll look like on the switch. That draw distance with that much moving foliage, volumetric fog effects that react to light, light shafts coming through trees, really good shadows and lighting in general, better looking motion blur than UC4, yea what they have so far looks absolutely gorgeous. It looks like it's really early in development or they have a very small amount of budget for animation.

This all seems like a ploy for a small team to get attention for their game by saying it's exclusive to a platform that has few announced games as of yet. No way it's actually exclusive to the Switch.

wait what... its a Switch exclusive but its PC footage and they dont even have a switch dev kit yet?

Whenever I see a good looking, third party dev'd, Nintendo exclusive, I think of stuff like Red Steel and the conduit, and immediately expect disappointment.

So a timed release with PC a few months out? Leaving money on the table if they don't release on PC.

Hopefully, Nintendo paid a lot for it to be exclusive if there will not be a PC release.

I assume that if Nintendo were involved, then Any Arts would have a dev kit and not be stuck in a waiting list among other third parties with which Nintendo has no affiliation. It seems to me that the game's Switch exclusivity is something the studio is chasing entirely of its own accord, which is rather baffling.

So I've been reading and it sounds like this game could almost qualify as a scam.

http://www.factornews.com/actualites/seasons-of-heaven-va-t-il-l-emporter-au-paradis-42471.html

- The game had already been pitched to Nintendo once and was rejected.
- Any Arts, the Studio, doesn't even have any development space, as admitted by the founder.
- They do not have a Switch devkit

I think it'll be a scam the moment they ask for money, not before. Which could easily be coming soon.

I really hope the only reason people are posting threads about this game is so we can laugh at this game, right? Announcing a Switch exclusive game without even having a Devkit. lol

Gee golly gosh, who could have guessed that Switch exclusivity was a cynical ploy to get press attention for a game no one would have covered had it been announced for PS4/XB1/PC? I am shocked.

Notice me, sempai.

Well OK, every console launch needs to have some bullshitery. :) They are just keeping on with the tradition.
