Are the reddit/twitter/whatever dorks for Trump happy? At least you got to use some dank memes. Fuckin morons.
Man, paying 9.95 to access NeoGAF alone every month is gonna be so weird
Just checked reddit and the only places it's really being talked about is r/politics and r/technology. Nothing on the_donald.
Think of how useless GAF will be if half the links posted won't work
Lets bleed the middle and lower classes completely dry, it's the American way.

You get what you deserve America. Enjoy.
As if this won't spill over to affect other nations in some way or another.
I pray enough major websites blackout to give this national outrage from both parties.
Oh man, I'm gonna use this a whole bunch in the next 4 year.

God this is such bullshit
We can only hope the big sites will do something to fight this tooth and nail
You can't bleed empty corpses, for they're about to become dry.
Imagine if the reason for democrats retaking power is fucking Netflix.
Sorry if this sounds a bit cold to my USGaf friends but the damage of this will cause will only be confined to the US correct?

Correct but don't discount America's influence on other conservative parties
Oh I'm gonna r/the_donalds reaction to this
No. We'll be setting an example for other capitalist nations to follow.
IS THIS A POSSIBILITY? THIS IS HONESTLY MY ATTITUDE FOR THE NEXT 4 YRS
Not if there's massive opposition against it you won't.
What a wonderful response. First of all, I am not American. Secondly, these Republicans basically played a game of stalling anything Obama really wanted to pass and saying no to everything that did get passed. Now we are seeing the signs that things like ACA and net neutrality are being threatened to be removed or changed a lot, even though it's been passed or a lot of people like these things. So that is why I asked my question because no matter how loud some people resist, things are going to change with a full Republican government.
There won't be.
think of all the gifs that won't load because imgur is a premium service
Yes, there will.
People are freaking forgetting the massive campaigns there were to fight against all this bullshit in the past years (or even worse, thinking they won't matter now. They always matter). It wasn't just the average citizens, it was corporations and companies as well.
The FCC got over 4 million comments back then when this was an issue. When it becomes an issue again, other corporations, websites, and celebrities will let people know of the danger, and do everything they possibly can to fight this.

The major difference being that the head of the FCC was willing to listen to those 4 million comments.
The FCC under the new administration is already bought and paid for by companies like Verizon and Comcast.
They're not going to care and will just ignore everything. It's what Republicans are good at.
They'll be first in line to fight it because they don't want to go in the pit where they have to bribe every ISP or else they lose out to the competition. Youtube/Google will fight like hell because they don't want to suddenly lose all the marketshare to Vimeo because Vimeo was willing to play ball with Comcast and Verizon.
There's big money behind this, but there's as big or bigger money opposed to it, and the opposition has majority opinion along with big money, which is a tough combination to beat even when you do have government on lock.

i would love for the major traffic drivers of the internet(Netflix, Google, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, Instagram) to go black for a week solid in protest if this comes to pass.
I think the carriers will get away with it too, mainly because I think theyll put the costs on the service providers and not the end-consumer.
