Shocking News: Borderlands 3 confirmed for third time

- Drop slag.
- Drop insanely stupid enemy TTK scaling that is balanced around you possessing rare drops.
- Drop boss fights that depend on how fast you can sprint around an area.
- Drop "kill something to get buffs and then maintain the buffs by killing or you're fucked" as a core mechanic. It was cute when it was unique, but then it got added all over the place.
- Drop any static numbers on the skill trees, make them percentages so they don't get outdated.
- Drop innate accuracy penalties on all weapons. Going from BL1 to BL2 made me think every weapon manufacturer hired idiots to design their wares.

- Add superficial armor customisation, not just skins.
- Add superficial weapon customisation.
- Ensure all character specific abilities scale with equipped gear.
- Add active abilities to the trees/accessories
- Bring back semi realistic looking weapons from BL1

Nah dawg. Slag will be back and better than ever.

Fuck, no thanks. Worst mechanic ever as it made them tune the game balance completely around having slag up constantly especially in UVHM.

Also please no more bullshit legendary items like the Bee shield that forced them to tune every boss encounter around bee+sandhawk and bee+unkempt Harold. Any boss fight without Bee involvement is just stupid in how long it takes.

Ask Telltale to borrow the writers from Tales, and I'll be in; still can't believe something actually came out that made me care about things in the Borderlands universe.

And was actually funny and sweet instead of trying really hard to be hip and make it on to the front page of reddit.

If they could replicate the tone from Tales, I'd be all over Borderlands 3.

That was a nice 8 month necro.

I completely disagree. BL games are one of the only FPS games that I actually enjoy. A great variety of weapons and I love the feel of just about all of them.

Fair enough , I've played so many FPS games it's silly and this series is close to bottom in terms of gunplay for me .

The gunplay is fantastic, tons of cool different weapons with different feel and abilities.

I miss Borderlands, I'd love a new one. And yes fuck Destiny :D

Hopefully this one will actually be good for once.

I am very sorry, I truly don't find that franchise any good/fun.

I wonder how they will adapt to the events of Tales From The Borderlands game. A lot of important stuff happened there including a major character death from the original games.

Loving the feel of Borderlands gunplay is like loving the headache a brain tumor gives you.

People only like this game for the co op right? The gunplay, art design and 'humour' in Borderlands is simply awful.

Really hope we get fun classes to play. The thing that really frustrates me about BL2/TPS is that I vastly prefer the TPS classes, but prefer the size and scope of BL2

I just hope they make good on the BL2 ending and have you going to a bunch of different planets searching for vaults.

I just wish there was a hard counter to slag, or that it was more situational. Having to switch between different weapons and abilities for different enemies is what makes Borderlands great, but slag being all purpose and compulsory kinda flattened your options.

As a huge Borderlands fan, I'm not sure what thy could do to pull me away from Destiny. A really good endgame, for one. Maybe better scaling for Playthrough 2/2.5 so I don't get one shotted all the time.

Also please release it 6 months after Destiny comes out so I can hop right into it when I'm feeling burned out on Destiny 2

I thought borderlands 2 was amazing and my first fps I played that had a "raid"

If they can make it like destiny where you world hop but keep the guns dropping with random stats I'm cool, don't copy destiny's one gun hat you have to level up, keep it the always dropping crazy loot Diablo fps it's meant to be in that regard.

I kinda hope there's more active abilities in this one -- but I don't know if that's what other people want. The massive amount of passives always kinda bummed me out. I'd like the combat to be a more involved balance of abilities with gunplay -- kinda like Mass Effect. I think i'm about ready for a new Borderlands either way. I'm curious to see what a new one looks like in a post-Destiny world.

Tried playing the prequel but the oxygen kept me away.

I love all 3 games. Bring it.

I played the presequel twice back to back and oxygen is so plentiful it's not an issue. I personally like the way there were different game mechanics if you were in an atmosphere or a vacuum.

I loved the length of the 2nd game and the huge amount of post launch content. I hope we get a repeat of that but I'm worried it won't happen twice.

Honestly, I'd be totally fine with just B2 plus this, even if they don't make huge changes anywhere else. Tales was so good.

Don't do anything like destiny please

The only thing I wouldn't mind would be server-based so that your games are less likely to have people with hacked items.

But I would like it to be like PC Diablo 2. You have offline version you can play and online serverbased with a different list of characters and no way to transfer things between the two game modes.

My biggest problem with the borderland series is the same thing people love in the game.

Trading

I would be ok with trading if a week or two into the game it's not flooded with God mode weapons and shields. (The duping problem) I know it's a heated debate, "no one says you have to use them" but if my party members are it cheapens the game. I know I know "well don't play with those people"

But it's like all I ask for this game is that the game doesn't get tanked by that.

This x 10000. The awful writing and humor is the main thing I want improved. Tales made confident it can be done well.

I also hope they improve the shooting a bit. I like the weapon variety, but enemy feedback or something needs improved to make it feel a bit better. Full on armor slots would be legit too.

Then it's the other aspects that you enjoy, like the role-playing elements, character skills, looting etc., and they're a lot of fun. But not the actual gunplay, because the gunplay itself is rather dull.
