I'm feeling the same about the game. I haven't finished it yet though. How long did it take you?

im not a fan of the genre myself, but the dude said the gameplay is boring, going into a VN expecting gameplay is your first mistake. I dont even mean that as a perjorative btw before someone gets offended.

But the fact is I didn't expect a visual novel as I wrote. I mean, there is even the word ACTION in the title. I didn't expect a shooter, of course, but at least something...interactive? I mean, this is not even a visual novel, just a novel, since there are like THREE screens (the shot outside the bar in the intro, the bar visual and the room of the main character).
In example, take Policenauts. It can be considered a visual novel, but there are action segments too in and there. Here's the only action thing is the shooter minigame, but that's optional.

Finished up Shantae Half Genie-Hero today. I really liked it overall. The gorgeous artwork and the catchy, upbeat soundtrack really elevate the game. That I stuck with the game all the way to the end despite being really terrible at it is a testament of how much I liked it even if it was super frustrating at times.

People who are actually competent at this kind of game have some legitimate issues though. Firstly, the game is pretty short. It only has about five main levels with a lot of mandatory backtracking to pad it out. I imagine it would take most people 3-5 hours to complete it (took me 7 but I went hunting for all the secrets/collectibles). And again, while it was not my experience for the most part, the game is rather easy if you know what you're doing. And it becomes progressively easier as you continue to unlock new abilities and upgrades. So the relative scarcity of content and low difficulty make the game short and some might say unsatisfying.

There was one thing I didn't like much. The last level has a couple of design choices that really annoyed me. There's a flappy bird section with a really poorly controlling bird that took me a good 30 tries to get through. And then after fighting the final boss there's an automated platforming that can take a few tries and you're just wondering why a designer would do this after the end of their game. I mention it because they feel like design choices that can inform the final impression a player takes away from a game when it really should be ending on a high note.

Still, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

how else are you 100%ing every zone because OCD DEMANDS YOU DO IT

Brandish for the PSP does something similar. Though I've never bothered to 100% all the maps.

I use the sight spell to look at the map, I mean there's a spell to display a map I just thought that's how it's designed, lol. Then I just run around to complete the maps. Man the rewards are often just trash but damn you can't just leave that one floor incomplete...

I'm now 12 hours into Steins:Gate (chapter 5) and I'm honestly close to dropping it.

When does this game talk less about otaku costumes and @channel message board culture and more about actually interesting stuff? And does it become at least a bit more interactive later on?

Basically, shit hits the fan during chapter 5. You will know when. The gameplay doesn't change at all though.

Installed Resident Evil 7, and I'm so ready to stream my first playthrough on January 24th.

Oh, we talking Crash in here? Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped was the best and most enjoyable of the trilogy.

They ain't got shit else to talk about. I half expect survive to be cancelled

Nah, they will probably release it for 30€ as planned, the game will get reviews with a 6/10 at best, there will be TONS of dlcs and Konami will be happy by going away with a sequel costed pretty much nothing.
I wonder if there will be at least cutscenes in the game, since the ones showed in the trailer feels so poor, considering the facial animations of characters involved.

Are we good with CDKeys these days, or. lol.

They are walking on a thin line. They are selling codes from retail copies in most cases but they are not shady as G2A. Even though some here like jshackles had issues with phone verification for first purchase i think.
