I honestly did not give a damn about the main antagonist (take that each way, applies to all)
Hell, the only moment I liked was
the final moment of the dead wife part.
That was a really hard choice.

Yeahh, that part was GREAT. I pretty much enjoyed that whole part of the story.

I still gotta play Blood & Wine, but I already feel I'll love it. I just walked into Toussaint and I fell in love with it.

Hearts of Stone had top notch main quests. All of them. The
heist, the wedding, the haunted house
... all of them were great. It was focused around these quests with not a whole lot else to do but I am surprised that folks would not find them fun.

Annubi's post was the first time I read a negative opinion on HoS and I've read A LOT. The story and characters are stellar, among the best in gaming imo.

Got Witcher 3 at winter sale and pretty far along.
Heart of Stone was kind of suck.

Main Witcher and Blood and Wine are fine, but HoS was just uninteresting.
Assuming your taste is always this accurate, tell me which recent games you liked. Maybe I can reduce my backlog and wishlist a bit.

I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying I didn't feel invested in that peculiar narrative.
No need to feel offended. If you liked it, good for you; it's great to play something that resonates with you.

Played Tyranny before Witcher 3 and really liked it.

Today I turn 32 years old, and after a year of almost not playing games, I come back with a renewed love for them. With so many interesting and different games I feel there is no better time to be a gamer.

Anyway here are a few spare codes, though most will probably own them already. Enjoy!!!

FWIW, 33% of owners on Steam finished TitS SC, so that's potential 10000+ sales there, so $210,000 not counting GOG at all.
Might be worth the translation costs.
I know I sure as hell am buying 3rd day one.
Don't forget Steam will take a cut of that, which is probably around 30%. There will likely be a 10% launch discount too.

Look at this guy bragging :p

Btw Durante, since you are, by the looks of it, pretty familiar with Atelier series as a whole, how would you rate this game againt, say, Mana Khemia 1/2? Both in terms of story\presentation and gameplay. I haven't played any Gust games that came after that, so i would like to have a point of reference to temper my expectations if need be :)

Mana Khemia was unusually story-focused for an Atelier game I'd say. So far, Sophie is very much at home in the series' usual slice-of-life pacing, which I find very enjoyable. The battle system seems quite interesting with how you manage the party's combination attacks and defenses by setting the stance for each character. Of course, the major focus is the alchemy system again, and it's even more puzzle-like and intricate than ever before. I really love how you can now craft items with alchemy which directly affect you doing even more advanced alchemy.

Note though that I've only played it for about 12 hours so far, which isn't much with my ... methodical approach to these games.

The feature I was most skeptical of was the game doing away with the time management aspect of the Arland and Dusk trilogies (well, most of the latter). So far, I have to say that it's really relaxing, and while I loved optimizing my days in those games, given its design adjustments I don't really miss this aspect in Sophie so far.

That looks clean AF.
2560x1440 with 8xSGSSAA will do that ;)
In this day and age of people trying to save on shading samples with more and more reconstruction techniques and similar attempts which all have some failure states, it's nice to re-establish the utterly consistent quality which can be achieved by "just" throwing 8 sparse samples at the problem.

Games. You can thank JaseC for Artificial Defense, it was the only game I already had in the latest Hump Bundle.

I don't know if you can say it, but does it allow every resolution? I have a shitty 1360x768 one and I'd love to play an Atelier game on PC

For each path, there is different upgrades and suppporting characters.

Fergus is by far the superior character, so you could start with him and then go with Wyatt on a second playthrough. I hope he returns in The New Colossus, he's well-acted and hilarious.
So there isn't much difference in story then? I guess I'm gonna play it once and be done with it so I can play another game instead.

I never thought they'll gonna localized Third Chapter after SC sales quite tanking.

Christ, 12 hours already?

If game can render at 4k resolution, then at lower one there wouldn't be any problem.

Nope, not really. Just some different dialogue here and there and a couple different cutscenes. The overall plot is the same. So yeah, just do the one playthrough you want to do.

Will this be the first KT port to not disappoint?

Strangely enough, their very first PC port that is DW8XL was quite decent.

Nobunaga's Ambition and RotK are also good though in their case both are developed as PC game first then ported to console.

(Yeah they shell out absolute asses PC port while simultaneously making a decent game on it. Don't ask me how and why)

It's kind of spoilerish for people who have yet to experience that chapter, so I'll just put this behind spoiler tags.

I accidentally stumbled upon it because I skipped a sentence and went back to check the log.

The fourth chapter was feeling a little lacking and not as good as the first three up until that point, but that plus some things revealed about the chapter a little later on made it so much better. Make sure to keep checking the log from time to time during that chapter, there's a lot of hidden dialogue in it.

Thanks for the detailed answer, sounds great! I too prefer a methodical approach if i like a game enough, and if it permits it :p I was pretty much set on buying that Gust bundle anyway, this only reinforces my decision.

I imagine different people work on their PC games as opposed to their PC ports. Hopefully they'll keep improving.

That said, I must admit that I've had far less problems playing most of their games myself. Granted, it also helps that my PC/GPU isn't powerful enough for me to demand port features that I can't or won't use.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
or, you know, it looks graphically fantastic, and its a game with a cool looking protagonist fighting robot dinosaurs?
I don't give a shit about Playstation and Horizon looks pretty good. The premise is cool, world looks fantastic, and I like action adventure RPG games of that vein. I hope it's good.

I like the open world stuff when it fits into my taste. Robot dinosaurs & post apoc? Sounds good to me. I prefer sci-fi to fantasy or real-world.

If you're genuinely looking forward to it for those reasons, then you don't belong to the group I mentioned and have no reason to feel slighted. I wasn't painting with a broad brush; I said "to some extent".

RE6 chapter 2-2 actually didn't have any fanservice. It did however have a big chunk that was quite literally lifted from chapter 3-1, which seemed really weird. Same exact section, you just controll a different character.

I kind of like what they tried to do with the game, making each section play a little different - like Chris' section is Call of Duty, Leon's section is sort of RE4-ish, Sherry's section has a map with a bit more exploration, and Ada's section has some stealth. And then each character has different weapons. But overall it feels reaaaaaaally far removed from Resident Evil. Revelations felt a lot more like a Resident Evil game, even.

At this point. RE for me is setting up sick melee finishers.
Which Rev 1, Rev 2, and RE7 all lack in terms of games that have released after 6.

Jake had no game. I was embarrassed for mankind when he failed to seal the deal. Poor Sherry getting drug like that.

At least Chris has reasons for not hooking up with his beaus and belles. Jake has no such excuses.

One would think you would like a return old RE because that as close as you're going to get to a Dino Crisis game anymore.

Spoilerth man! I need to go back and read up on my RE2 because while I recalled something about Sherry and her dad and that vial she carried around her neck, I didn't recall her being
freaking Wolverine.

You would think right? But then you gotta remember Dino Crisis 2 screwed me up in my wants early on.

That game is pure action. In a way DC1 influenced RE horror, and DC2 influenced some of REs change to action. They're like oddly twins.

Everyone knows no one ever gets to fuck in a RE game.

EDIT - Except that one
tentacle demon in that official Chinese comic.
