Truth is Cloud in Smash means absolutely nothing. It's just a most popular and recognizable character in the franchise so if SE and Nintendo wanted to put a character in Smash of course it would be Cloud.

Switch will probably get some FF spinoffs just like 3DS but that's it.

Judging by Ryu in Smash we can look forward to a port of the original game with Emo Cloud and Nice Sephiroth as bonus characters.

Personally I'll be picking up Disgaea 5 day 1 in the UK but it's definitely not going to do well.

Not sure what else they have to say. Feels like they covered all their bases just before this meeting. Switch is coming out in a month. Fire Emblem Heroes is coming out this week. Their major titles on both 3DS and Switch for the rest of the year have been outlined. I don't think there are many lingering questions left?

I'd hope this isn't all of their major titles for the rest of the year, but you are right I believe in that we will get nothing new tomorrow.

Can't speak for the latter but the former just was a very unappealing product and shouldn't ever be used in an argument about SRPG selling or not on 3ds.

Animal Crossing for mobile is still officially slated to launch before the end of the FY, though it could be delayed tomorrow.

I don't expect any big announcements, to be sure (barring some big licensing deal like the Universal one), but some clarifying details on Switch online, software strategy, pricing, etc.

Where did i say anything about big SE FF plans on Switch ? Man some of you are really reaching - read my post again.

I said that Cloud is part of Smash and has an Amiibo upcoming - IF...they have FF plans on Switch i would assume they would announce them around the same time Smash Bros. Switch is unveiled.

Thats all i wrote..everything else is just you adding stuff lol.

Stoked to see gravity Rush in the top spot... even if it doesn't amount to much. Really sad that an IP as unique as GR struggles to sell - I don't get why it fails to be anything more than a niche title that doesn't even do all that well in Japan, of all places. /: Sigh...

There'll likely be nothing interesting, but there can be sometimes some interesting tidbits (despite Kimishima being a lot more silent than Iwata was).

There's always a Q&A when there's a briefing, and there's always a briefing for their Q2, Q3, and Q4 results (not Q1, as that's the only quarter not tied to any financial milestones).

Can't wait to see it happen. They probably already have a good excuse in case Dragon Quest XI sells well on the Switch.

To be fair, there's indeed a way bigger defensiveness coming from some people than last time, especially since the PS4 is such a success WW.
Anyway, happens every gen for every console.

At least this time companies can prepare using engines like UE4 without locking themselves to a specific system. The turnaround between public announcement of support to release may be much shorter due to that this time.

Final Fantasy isn't even an exclusive series, so a Switch port isn't out of the question.

However it does in Japan it will be better than PS4, and while at the moment it is more expensive than the 3DS it is worth remembering the price of hardware does drop over time. Switch will do fine.

This also brought someone to say that this means there won't be an AC for Switch anymore. You will never guess who did that!

So Wii U finally not being shipped anymore in Japan.

Last fall, Kotaku reported Wii U production was slated to end “soon” for Japan. And today, we can say it’s officially finished.

The announcement was made on Nintendo Japan’s website under the Wii U hardware section. (Note that these are the only two versions of the Wii U currently available.)

The website states that Wii U production has ended, but specifically notes for this is domestically for Japan (日本国内 or Nihon kokunai, which means “within Japan”).

Kotaku reached out to Nintendo of America for comment, but did not hear back prior to publication.
