Netflix has been holding an event today where it’s announcing the bulk of its upcoming programming slate. Nestled in the press release was this:
Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017

This is literally all we know for sure at the moment, but the project is likely the same one that’s been reported as being in development from Frederator Networks (Adventure Time) and producer Adi Shankar, who was behind that gritty Power Rangers short back in 2015.

What are your thoughts? I think an animated castlevania with a predefined story could be something i could watch. Maybe take a page from JJBA and make each season take place in a different time period?

Pachinko me if old.

I won't dismiss just yet until I see it plus Netflix has a pretty good track record when it comes to their original content.

Still, even if Konami is involved in the most miniscule way possible, I have my doubts on this.

I hope that Netflix can become a breeding ground for higher quality, serial storytelling, higher age targeted, action animation from the US.

Maybe Nintendo can convince Konami now is a good time for a new game...(of course we're getting Bloodstained which is as good as)

Holy shit.

Edit: Ah, so it will be animated. Hmm, fingers crossed it turns out decent. Would be more curious if they could pull off a live-action Castlevania with a Netflix budget, but I'll take what I can get.

To think, I was just thinking that I never use Netflix and should cancel it. Not a chance. I don't expect this to be great, but I love Castlevania, so I'll hope for the best.
