I just rewatched the latest BotW and I'm having trouble remembering something. I could swear that the first time I watched it immediately after it went up, the word "cunt" (from Mike quoting Silence of the Lambs) and the reference to the kid in the final movie jerking off that dude weren't bleeped out. But upon second viewing, both instances are censored.

Am I remembering wrong?

I downloaded the episode 20 minutes after it got posted to NeoGAF, and haven't deleted it yet.

Mike's Silence of the Lambs quote is bleeped, and Jack's description of the kid scene is bleeped and also has a black censor bar so you can't read Jack's lips. Exactly the same as the version currently up on Youtube.

It's possible that there was a small window where an uncensored version was available, but I think it's more likely that you're remembering wrong. As in, your brain was easily able to deduce the missing information, and then it forgot the censoring, so you remember it as being a clean, uninterrupted flow of information. The human brain is pretty good at filling in the details and making shit up as it goes along. That's supposedly why memories retrieved through hypnosis are bullshit, because you're asking your brain to pull up a file that doesn't exist, so your brain shrugs and writes some fanfiction.

Me personally, I forgot the censorship, but I didn't misremember it because my brain didn't care and left the answer to that particular question blank instead of making a guess.

You are remembering correctly.

I'm pretty sure they post-release bleeped "bitch" in the BvS review when Mike said "I didn't understand what that bitch was saying". I remember they caught some flack for saying that, so it makes sense that they went back and bleeped it.

RLM has a really good views to subscriber ratio, another channel I watch has 100k more subs and they average like 40k - 100k while RLM seems to consistently get almost as many views as they have subs on all there main huge vids. The only time they really go below is with re:view and smaller vids

Make sense to me, I watch a few other channels, but RLM are the only ones I support/give a fuck if they happen to stop making videos.

That's actually nice of them, I appreciate that.

They have, some they found themselves randomly online, closing stores, or even Pawn shops / Flea Markets. Other than that they get a lot of VHS tapes sent to them by fans.

In fact if you have a copy of Nukie, they need just a few more.

It's right in the intro!

"Every day we receive thousands of terrible VHS tapes and DVDs. Some are so fucking weird we don't exactly know what to do with them..."

Never fails to crack me up.

there used to be so many fucking VHS cassette tapes being made back in the day

that's why a lot of towns had two Blockbusters/Movie Gallerys/etc, because there was usually a pretty decent difference between what you would get at any given place

I mean I used to have lots of Blockbusters too but there was only so much shelf space. Most was taken up by... actual movies. with like real actors. not B-movie ripoffs of them, let alone random, late 90s PSA VHS tapes for kids or fucking how to identify counterfeit beanie babies.

i get a good laugh at them just introducing the names of the movies and showing off the box

The blockbuster near me had a large rack of PSA video you could rent for free. My mom and sister had a habit for picking or terrible ones, like ones about manners, and watching them.

All I remember about Starship troopers is
the co-ed shower scene
. Also poor Rich gets mocked even when he's not in the episode.

I kinda stopped watching the re:view episodes after being very bored by a couple in a row. This one was good. I think I just have to be familiar with the movie they're discussing.

It's underrated in the sense that it flew under the mainstream radar when it came out, I guess? It definitely grew into a cult classic like you said.

They didn't bring up the glorious Poledouris score, but I will:

dat klendathu drop

It's weird that they didn't bring up the news interview/segment before the "I'm from Buenos Aires and I say kill 'em all! " line in regards with tipping your hand too much.

It was funny watching this reView, considering Verhoeven just made a movie about rape and desire. Somehow he went from overt satire to something that attempts to be more subtle in the last 2 decades.
