As far as weight percentages go, each armor has its own weight that it will tell you, by the thumbnail, and that's compared to your carry capacity for the overall encumbrance percentage.

Yes but what does the overall encumbrance percentage do?

Like what's the difference between 30 and 70%? Is there any reason to go below 30%, or 70%, or any other number? What actually changes?

It doesn't last very long though? I once tried it against Tachibana to get the "defeat without getting hit" prestige points/challenge, and I didn't find it very useful. Ended up just doing the anti-ki-regen cheese instead. :p

Combine sloth with something else.

For example, use sloth, defense down spell (forgot its name), then a carnage talisman to double up on dps per any given opportunity. Do all this with a spirit animal to top it off.

What's the fastest and most easy way to get weapon+? Want to get my weapon to +10, currently 160 +8. I have been doing the Giant Frog duel because it only takes me 15s.

I hate Ume Bozu. That one fucking beam attack fucking one hit kills me EVERY TIME. Like, I got him down to 1/4 health and he just hit me with that BS attack again and ARRGH

man just unlocked the mystic arts for sword and combine with some talents and guardian spirit getting 3k-5k backstab crits now with sword. Just demolishing through NG+ and twilight mission. Combined with carnage and the talisman that reduce bosses defense...I am like melting all bosses so far in like 1-2 combos lol. Especially the human bosses because once they go down final blow critting them for 11-12k lol.

Speed,Running stamina, Stamina per block, Stamina regen and Stamina per hit are neartly instant with a L full set.

The animations don't need much more work. It's not like a woman holding a sword and swinging it will be largely different than a male. I say this as a kendo practitioner. And the running animation is already kind of "anime cartoony" and not realistic so it won't matter. The only thing they'd need to add is VA for the grunts etc. which is minimal, there's not much to record.

And isn't a lot of that already done with Okatsu and Tachibana's wife?

Just got into the game and I’ve got a whole bunch of questions lined up here. Thanks to anyone who bothers to respond!

• The story. Some magic stuff helped in a war, next I’m taking control of a guy in Tower of London. He’s got a fairy. Meets obvious evil guy. Also, he’s a great swimmer even with armor. He just up and went to Japan to take back something I don’t even know what it is. What the hell is happening?

• Can I remove the DLC armor and stuff? I accidentally claimed it all but don’t want to use it. I’m starting fresh here, damn it!

• Any major funtions that are easy to overlook but absolutely key to understand? They did have that tutorial stage (after the first mission where I died like five to ten times at the first guy – WTF?) but they tacked on quite a lot in a short time span there..

• The color codes for gear – is that level or rarity or what?

• Using sword and spear. Any skills I should focus on? What is prestige?

I feel like I've only been getting the + weapons from main missions but if they drop in frog duel I'll try it instead. Do I have to use ochoko cups to get them to drop? I don't have any left.

But is it based on the exact percentage or rather each color "tier" of weight? Like is there any benefit to having 50% encumbrance instead of 70% encumbrance, since both of them are in the "green" tier?

If it's just done by tiers, then how much of a difference is there between tiers? If it's not, then why bother with tier colors in the first place?

So weapons higher than 150 can drop from the bosses now? I just picked up 155 sword from the twilight mission and I know it's not forged because I didn't forged anything in last few days.

So, after Tachibana has obliterated me a dozen times in a row, is there no way to quit out of the subquest other than quitting to the dashboard? I don't feel like subjecting myself to this beatdown any longer lol

Is there a shrine closer to the second boss in nioh? The creepy paralysis chick? Also if I run out needles how do i get more? Just farm nearby mobs?

It's done by tiers, but there's equipment in the game that gives you a bonus depending on much total weight you have on. The difference is both significant and noticeable, aside from ki regen and ki expenditure it changes your dodge and double dodge animations and speed. However with more weighty armor comes better defense, more toughness (poise) and less ki loss while blocking.

Yo I'm doing the first mission of Region 5! I'm not imagining it right? There's a enemy with
dual pistols
!!

That has to be coming right? So far almost every weapon an enemy can use, we can use as well.

When you enter the larger cave area, there will be fork in the path, one side leads to a ladder, the other to a skeleton and a longer path. Around where the skeleton is, look to the left and there will be a place you can drop down to with a yokai zone. Shrine is after that yokai zone.

Check out the story of William Adams, the story in the game is based off of that. But essentially you're trying to get back the spirit that was stolen at the beginning of the game

Yes sir, you can. Take off pieces of armor at your leisure.

Learn to Ki Pulse and learn it well. When your stamina bar gets depleted but you start to see it refill in white that means you can Ki pulse, which restores that stamina. Use this to purify the cloud like aura on the ground when fighting Yokai. Make sure you get the Flux skills. You can use stance changes as a way to Ki pulse and you get more stamina back that way. Grab the dodge ki pulse skills. You dont even have to look at the stamina bar to execute a ki pulse when you get used to the telegraph on williams body. (when the white stuff (for lack of a better term) clusters at his waist you can Ki pulse)

Dont be afraid to change stances and learn all the movesets. Be sure to read all of the skill descriptions and try out what you like. Some are really powerful and fun. Some of the passives in say the Axe skill tree will carry over even if youre not using as Axe. Example the Health bonus passive

• The color codes for gear – is that level or rarity or what?

Yes, there are multiple levels of rarity in this game, its an RNG based loot system. Think Diablo.

• Using sword and spear. Any skills I should focus on? What is prestige?
Spear - Flying Monkey is a lot of fun. They're all pretty good, Id try some stuff out and see what you like. Mid stance poke is probably the safest attack for spear. (Mid stance + triangle)

I can speak too much about sword as I havent used them much myself but I know a lot of people use Iai quickdraw a lot.

Prestige is basically paragon bonuses if your familiar with Diablo 3. Small passive buffs. That are granted for basically killing stuff. Example. Doing 60,000 fire damage makes me a fire master. I get a point for that. Its just a nice little bonus.

Sorry for the mess of a reply. Its kind of all over the place. Hopefully some others can add to this

:)

Hm.

So the question is then, 30% or 70%? I thought I could tell a difference but I didn't know if it was placebo and I was just playing poorly.

Im at 69.9% now and I def notice it compared to below 30% but there are mods that can help. Such as reduced dash ki usage etc. Along with passives in the ninja tree.

If your play style is to evade/dodge/sprint and be mobile, it's best to be sub 30%.

If you like to block attacks, then go for sub 70%. Keep in mind you still have decent movement options. It's not like you are some kind of fat turtle or anything.

It depends mostly on your playstyle.

If you prefer being agile and like to dodge attacks, go for the under 30% tier.

If you prefer to block attacks then go for the 70% bracket.

You could also just switch it up depending on what you need at the time. Some bosses have a lot of unblockables, so light gear is better, on the contrary sometimes you might want the tougher gear to block attacks.

Finally beat the game after around 89 hours and did all sub missions except for all those Twlight Missions. And what a game. But now I need to put NG+ on hold and give this game a break so I can focus on Nier: Automata.

Also I'd like to point out
that it's Ii (uppercase i, so it's pronounced [sounds like "e" in enormous] as E-e) Naomasa and not Li.
:p

I need help. There is a treasure chest surrounded by flames and rubble near the first kodama shrine in the mission Immortal Flame. How in the hell do I get to it?

Did they nerf the bat boss in the second level since the Beta? I just beat her on my first try but in the beta it took me hours. I was dreading her the whole climb down the caves haha.
