ok I didn't want to post but I have to, thank you for this.

I haven't laughed this much quite a while.

Based on some comments from insiders i'm thinking this game had really troubled development and we're now seeing the results of it come to light. Some of this animation is blatantly unfinished whether it's that gif that Lime posted or stuff like really bad motion capture cleanup that looks like the guys barely had anytime to even get this remotely cleaned up to what I assume an animator would deem ideal:

The joints are popping and jittering all over the place, they have the mocap sausage arm thing going on, like...whoever did this scene certainly did not have enough time for it.

Maybe they bit off more than they can chew in the time allotted for development?

Hmm, maybe. It seems uneven at least and in some parts worse than Dragon Age Inquisition.

The game definitely felt rushed, It's painfully obvious.
ME fans deserve better.

It looks rushed, but I don't understand how it could be given such a long development time period.

Inexperience of the staff for this project seems like a serious problem. For all the faults of Inquisition, even that had superior models and animation was better all around. Definitely seems like the "A" team is elsewhere, which is strange considering Mass Effect used to be their baby.

Inquisition had the problem of everyone looking like they were made of wax. Also the custom characters looked so similar no matter how many hours of work you out into the character creator.

But the CC still has more options than Andromeda's. I thought they'd use Inquisition's version with major upgrades but nope.

Maybe the A team is working on the new IP that we will see soon i guess

Yeah, if I had to guess I'd say that after Inquisition came out they had to rethink quite a few things.

Wasn't the rumour that stuff got rebooted during development? Destiny also had a long development cycle with experienced developers but was still rushed because of reboots.

Everyone in this game stands like old he-man action figures

And they look like action figures. Is it me or does everyone look kinda short. As if they didn't want to scale the characters to the world, so everything looks a bit more massive. It's weird.

Honestly this looks beyond amateur. I've seen parody Source videos made by one or two people with animation that looks like Pixar compared to this.

It's embarrassing and worse than the previous games, which is saying a lot because the animation in these games is downright awful.

Look at her face when she stands up holy shit. If the absolutely horrible close-up of the beginning isn't indicative enough for you, that is.

Lol, though I'd honestly prefer that then them just walking around aimlessly in the background.

Also, were Krogan's always that small? My head canon had them at like 7ft tall at least.
It's perspective trickery - Krogan is actually 50ft away.

I've kinda gone totally limp over this game, man.. I've had an off feeling about for game for ages, but definitely not getting it at launch anymore.

I really don't get why they're releasing it like this. Should have been delayed. Considering the ME3 backlash this game needed to be great. Stuff like this will only further damage the brand.

And I don't care about downgrades. Just that animation and the general look of the characters is abysmal.

I'm like 99% sure Krogan's on average are like 7ft tall, so either I'm misremembering or he's a tiny Krogan. Even Grunt who was a young Krogan was like over 7ft.

They've always been shirt in game. Grunt is about Shepherds size in game

For those asking about the krogan size, i'm pretty sure that's a female. I don't remember from ME3, maybe they always were smaller in size than males?

Also I sure hope every patch notes will have this:

Patch Notes 1.xx
-Updated animations in various scenes
.

DA:I worked out super well as a first attempt with Frostbite, so wondering what happened between that and this. That day one patch better be substantial because some of the issues in these animations genuinely look like leftovers from the layout stage. :|

Ah, yeah I think that's the case actually, I vaguely remember Grunt's intro cutscene showing him being huge, but then cutting to him in game being way less impressive.

Could be female too, though I can't remember how big they were in-game.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?

Wait, isn't the 'day one' patch already included in the EA Access trial?

Could have sworn I remember someone from Bioware saying that.

Haha, this looks like crap. The Giant Bomb stream is just destroying my interest in this game. It seems horrible in every aspect. Not just the visuals.
