If they don't fix the worst issues, I wonder how they can in good faith push out DLCs while the vanilla game is suffering from alpha animation bugs.

So this Mass Effect game is shipping with what are essentially unfinished cutscenes with placeholder assets/animations still in place and countless bugs in the proper gameplay. Can't say I saw that one coming, but I guess it was nice of them to let people show how broken it is before it released.

That makes a lot of sense. Also why we still had the 'indicative of gameplay' disclaimers just a few weeks out. The game was far from finished and EA pulled the plug, so they were rushing to clean up the bugs and a lot made it through.

What I don't get is why. I mean I understand EA getting tired after five years and saying enough is enough. But just a few months ago they told the shareholders that they were going to release it around the summer. Why move it up by months so that they have to rush out an unfinished game to release right in the shadow of high profile releases Nioh, Horizon, Zelda and Nier. I doubt EA was particularly afraid of Persona that they needed to come out right before that.

I posted the conspiracy theory earlier that EA wanted to release alongside other big hitters in an attempt to bury the Switch, like they did with Titanfall for CoD. But eh, that seems really far-fetched. At the same time, I can't think of anything that would make more sense.


Edit: fiscal year. Ah yeah. Maybe? Was EA performing so poorly that they needed another game? Didn't Battlefield 1 do fantastically?

Developers are getting in too much of the habit of releasing undercooked games and expecting the fans to splurge on deluxe and premium editions to float them along.

I love this thread. Never gonna buy this game (I've only played like 3 hours total of the mass effect franchise), but this game is pretty entertaining from afar.

Probably because the game is a rush job and there were absurd hair physic moments making the already laughable cutscenes that much more hilarious, so instead of trying to address the issue, they just turned it off.

But seriously with all the cries of racism and SJW bs that people have said has been plaguing the studio for some time now doesn't explain this shitstorm.

It's obvious the people that made ME:A just gave no fucks. They completely ignored established Lore, didn't bother writing a good story, terrible character designs including lackluster bad guys that even though are to be found in a different galaxy don't seem like fresh or different enemies than what we have seen previously.

All theses screenshots just prove how little anyone at EA/Bioware cared and none of them bothered to make an actual effort.

I was hoping for something great from ME:A.. but son I am disappoint.

I'm pretty sure someone noticed and posted about the backward gun thing while watching the Giant Bomb stream in real time, no need for a slow motion instant replay or an example of the gun model. How did a team of testers and game devs not notice?

It's a futuristic sci-fi pistol. Who's to say it doesn't shoot out of that little nub on the back too? Just make sure you double-check the switch on the gun that flips it from forward firing to backward firing or you're gonna have a bad time.

I'd take it. The combat in ME1 is the worst from all the ME games and it's still my favorite one. And, by the way, I find the combat of The Witcher 3 pretty awesome for an open world action RPG. Not 'Bloodborne awesome', but awesome. Skyrim's combat is a joke in comparison.

As a non-white person, I have found some of report on his tweets utterly appalling. If a white person was tweeting it, they'd be slammed and rightly so.

This article highlights the issue. I have ZERO respect for people who berate others based on race.

All the jank and bad animations have made me curious to play the game. That goofy Sara Ryder face is almost strangely endearing at this point. I hope there's a good game underneath all this.

She is cleary using either a M-77 Paladin or a M-6 Carnifex (very common firearms in Mass Effect universe), both pistols have the same shape by the way. This is 100% a mistake.

Glad I can finally put my Mass Effect fan knownledge to use in this game...*sobs*
