In interested to see the DF on this, I bought it on PS4 because i had heard the pro was running at 30 pretty locked, however after completing the first mission and into the Nexus I feel as if there were a lot of sub 30 drops on the first planet, maybe these vanish later in the game.

Ps4 pro by the way.

They haven't vanished for me on the pro. I've had constant fps issues and times where I talk to characters of my crew only to see another version of that character walking around in the background while I'm talking to them lol.

Ok this shit is stupid.

How do I call the Nomad?

I left site 1 and I saw what I thought was a mineral deposit so I went to it and hit triangle because I thought it was going to extract the mineral to the Tempest but I was wrong.

I read the tutorial and it doesn't say how to get the Nomad to come to you.

You can summon it at Forward Operating Bases. Don't think there's another way.

I don't think you can just call the nomad randomly to spots unless you have a pod or forward operating base whatever it's called established. You mine while in the Nomad by pressing right on the D pad. Then when you're in an area it will show you how much mineral and of what type there is. Once you've found a good spot you press RT. If you're roaming around the planet on foot you'll probably either need to fast travel via the menu or see if there's a pod station/FOB nearby.

And, for those who are playing it, what do you think about the game so far?

Hating it. This isn't mass effect. Scanning is boring and tedious. Combat is "OK" but wouldn't call it amazing. Thought I wouldn't care about the animations, but turns out, they're pretty fucking immersion breaking. Love when I walk up to talk to an NPC, and they walk away at the same time, leaving me to talk to an empty screen with their voice from a distance. Also love when I die due to an enemy getting glitched in the environment and because of the horrible checkpoints, losing about 15-20 minutes of progress.

The Ryders don't feel like heroes, or heroic in any sense. They're entitled brats who get titles literally handed to them, without any sort of qualification.

The multi was mildly redeeming but I think it was because I played with friends.

I'd like to add that I'm generally not a harsh critic of games. I don't shit on everything that's popular and go against the grain. This was a very eye-opening situation, where I could swear this game was going to be magnificent, and a true return of the franchise I loved, but I just can't seem to enjoy it.

Thanks for the replies.

I tried every button combo you possibly can and opened every menu before I remembered the foward station. Atleast I got the change the paint job of my Nomad.
:/

I thought what I was looking at was a deposit but I probably was wrong.

I am kind of floored at how bad this game is. So so disappointing.

There's just no charm and almost every aspect of the game is sub-par when compared to the previous games.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

I'm having the opposite experience. Feels 100% like Mass Effect to me.

That one "my face is tired" NPC has the most awkward and unnatural voice acting I've ever heard in a AAA game, though. Like "bad 90's dub" level of bad.

I feel like I am playing a different game entirely. This is very much Mass Effect to me and has sucked me in the exact same way it always has. And no way in hell is the gameplay worse, unless one prefers tank controls.

She does have some good lines. When you go to her and complain about her assistant....made me laugh

Weird, I'm finding so many things charming: 30 hours in and the game continues to surprise me (mostly) in happy ways.

Feels like Mass Effect, and the mystery of ME1 is there in droves, recommended.

Nothing like having a heart to heart with Drack only to see Drack walking around in the background lol.

That's promising that you guys like it. I'm only an hour in so far. I'll keep trucking.

oh man. It took me about 5-7 hours I'd say before I was feeling the game. Once I spent an hour upgrading, researching guns, upgrading my abilities, then went to a planet, and go to use all that shit it felt pretty good. Then I spent another hour walking around the tempest talking to the crew. It really brought back the Mass Effect feel and then it finally had it's teeth in me.

Don't think it's even possible to get Tali after Liara since you have to become a Spectre to even reach the planet where Liara is located. And you can't become Spectre without Tali.

Yep. You run into Tali, Garrus, and Wrex on the citadel while you're trying to find evidence of Saren's guilt. Tali is mandatory, because she has the evidence from the Geth tech, you run into Garrus immediately after your meeting with the council, and you run into Wrex around C-Sec. I feel like Wrex might be missable? Truth is I found him on accident in my first playthrough, and on subsequent plays I always went straight to him.

The only one that's really possibly a late game pickup is Liara, if you do her mission last (and make her go nuts). :D

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
Honestly, it does open up from an exploration aspect, and get better.....but it took a long time for me, even past Eos, to really get into it.

And the writing/animations, though sometimes not as bad as some are claiming, have rarely done a good job at drawing me into the world further to make up for the early exploration shortcomings.

I haven't really seen any 'shining' moment from a character or situation, and I'm 20ish hours in.

Is the bronze Apex mission from the strike menu broken? I swear I cleared that thing twice and I never get the story rewards and the mission never goes away either.

I've had no patch yet. I hope they continue to drill down on each and every issue thus game has especially in the Cc, and conversations/cinematics area. For that reason I'm holding off playing the campaign until later this year.

Yeah the performance is jarring, I am waiting to buy this when it runs at a decent framerate on the PRO. Looking forward to playing it but not like this.

I was listening to the Giantbomb podcast this morning and they made it sound like this game was pretty broken at points. Is it really that fucked? They recommended waiting for patches.

FWIW about 90% of my MP games crash to desktop mid game, I haven't attempted SP yet. If the co-op is of any significant value to you, I'd suggest you wait.

It's even worse on Xbox One S, so much stutter and freeze. The game has very little polish, which makes no sense given the dev time it had.

It seems that I missed the Pathfinder I chest blueprint along the way, while I've already got Pathfinder II set completed.

Anyone know where can I get it?
