Have you ever bought a game because a hot girl/guy was in it

I've bought games because I thought the main character looked cool. So yeah i guess. Having characters I think look cool/nice/sexy is all apart of the appeal process, right along with gameplay and whatnot. Most games are at the very least passable on those fronts lately...so yeah designs you like go a long way.

You might be saying this jokingly, but I know at least one person who bought the game because of him in BOTW.

This fanart of his Gerudo outfit, specifically.

I will also add myself to this list of people who got BOTW earlier than usual because of how good Link looks in the Gerudo outfit. Posted some more fanart in this thread here.

Damn shame that it's the weakest outfit in the game or Link would be spending the vast majority of the game that way.

I can't think of it being the only reason but there were times a character's appearance or art style helped sell me the game. I find "interesting" or even "cute" to be more persuasive than "hot" these days.

Batman - Arkham Asylum
As a huge batman fan, I needed it.

Fighting games. And I mean all fighting games, not just DOA and other bikini juggle fighters. I pick characters based on who I like the look of and after trying a few I stick to the ones I like most in terms of gameplay and appearance. When they return I'm always tempted to pick the game up.
Ein/Hitomi, Hayate, Eliot, Kokoro, Mila - DOA
Terry, King, Iori, Kim, Leona, Vanessa - KoF
Taokaka, Hakuman, Litchi, Ragna, Noel - Blazblue
Chipp, Testament, Sol, Jam, Millia and Ramlethal - Guilty Gear
Hwang, Kilik, Mina, Mitsurigi, Hilde - Soul Calibur

Skells - Xenoblade Chronicles X. Remember that side quest with the NPC that is oozing all over for the skells? That is basically me.

Yuri - Tales of Vesperia
Kat - Gravity Rush
Ravness - Tactics Ogre
Assassins - Assassin's Creed games
Lin - Advance Wars Days of Ruin

The NA boxart for Tales of Symphonia pretty much sold me on the game.

Specifically Lloyd. Mind you I was 10.

It was certainly not the main reason... I will admit though part of the reason of why I bought Nier was because of 2B / A2.

The demo sold me on both the gameplay and 2B haha.

I still can't deal with that image. He's way too androgynous for his own good.

I don't get it. We live in a golden age of porn. We have (easy) access to a nigh-endless supply of masturbation material. So why do people need their video games to be all sexed up? It just strikes me as so unnecessary.

I'm a habitual offender...

Bravely Default on 3DS - bought because of that damned sexy fairy...

Bro... that "sexy fairy" looks like she's 12 years old.

But that game came out in 2012, so maybe you were also 12 back then? Please let that be the case.

I like interactive sexiness.

Twelve year olds don't have thighs and waists like Airy, folks.

Anyway, no. Not really. Maybe one will pique my interest in a game but I'll never actually go out of my way to play it just because of that.

When I was 14 I bought that Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja game under the guise of just wanting a roguelike on the DS other than Pokèmon Mystery Dungeon. I was very much definitely in it for the fanservice no matter what I told anyone, though.

I mean, it wasn't a bad game. I got the first game because of puberty, but got the sequel for the genuine reason of wanting a sequel. And also puberty.

Y'all who can't seem to grasp the concept of feeling attraction towards attractive depictions of individuals need to lighten up.

While it wasn't the main reason I bought the game, Catherine had me like

Only time I can think of was me being 13 in Blockbuster video looking to rent a Playstation game and Parasite Eve was on the shelf and I thought, hmmm. One of the better rental decisions I made as the box art by itself didn't prepare me for the mind-fuckery of that game's story.

I imagine if you bought pure waifu games, DOA, or just straight up eroges. Then you'd be here in this thread.

Also if you like Summer Lesson as well.

What if I just want to enjoy a fictional platonic relationship with a fictional Japanese schoolgirl?

Threads like these are always filled with people in denial, trying to take some high road and refusing to be honest.

I'm sure I've bought more than a few games based on sex appeal, but no specific titles spring to mind at the moment.

Atari2600 games had hot guys and girls covers all the time, though they were irrelevant to actual game art
I was fooled

Geez, now I see why the gaming community can't ever get along. No one is wanting to sex up the characters. People find things attractive, go figure. People read erotic fiction over watching porn, look at magazines, etc. Different markets push attractiveness for a reason, otherwise models wouldn't all look the same in physique.

if it has cute creatures ill probably check it out. Human characters though couldn't care less unless they're really uniquely styled. Perfect complexion human characters are so trite and often just blatantly appealing to teen aged boys going through puberty.

If I'm being honest, sometimes!

I love my fighting games, and a lot of the characters are really attractive. DOA & SC primarily. When I was younger, I thought Lara Croft was everything. I loved John Marston's face and Rob Wiethoff's gruff voice. Kazuma Kiryu is pretty as hell, and Akiyama was the suavest. I bought Bayonetta for the sass and hypersexuality and I still think Jade from Beyond Good and Evil is beautiful.

Shit no. Not that male leads are ever hot anyway, barring one or two exceptions.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f on PS Vita - Miku :)

Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky on PS Vita - literally just the twin tails of Estelle...
I pretty sure Nowi is the only reason I bought Fire Emblem: Awakening.

I also bought Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate for Maria Rose.
Ick. I hope you guys are, like, 14 year old max. If you aren't underage yourself, um... *backs away slowly*
