Mobile Suit Gundam: Versus Coming July 6th In Japan

thetrin

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
The real news is that HOT SCRAMBLE Gundam from Build Fighters Amazing Ready is going to be in it. :D (along with Psycho Zaku and Gundam Kimaris Trooper)

I'm a little bit pissed that it's, at least as far as I know, currently 1 player per console. So locals and tournaments need like 4 sets of 4 goddamn items to run. And if it doesn't have LAN, then well, that's trouble, because hotel/convention center wifi is butt.

Need to get it out before EVO Japan.

Bandai's pushing Hot Scramble way too hard. It's been in a handful of games already, whereas I'm still waiting for Star Build Strike to be in SOMETHING that isn't the old SD Gundam Online game.

Mmmm, Star Build Strike. Definitely would like to see that in Versus.

They've just released Hot
Mess
Scramble on Maxi Boost ON, so here's what to expect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09aTNjlwwIE It's looking like its a first print thing like EX-S was back in the day. Plus another premium g sound edition as well.

PS4 Versus a lot sooner than expected though. Can't wait!

Also, already called dibs on the OT. ^^

Sooner than I expected, certainly.

Then again, perhaps this is why a number of stand-bys are still missing...

The game is like four cabinets in arcade, why would this be any different? And split screen results in 30fps, yuck. You need the entire screen.

EVO Japan is using arcade T7FR and Rev 2 over PS4 T7 and Rev 2, so your console talk is out the window.

Eh not really seems like both of those games are ports. Gundam Versus isnt a port of anything

We had to do that at Evo for Full Boost already. Split screen had massive fps drops and you can't play a tournament like that.

I remember split screen being straight ass, but that was FB being too rough on a PS3. This game is made from the ground up, they could at least scale down the graphics and keep that shit even.

The problem is, if Gundnam wants to be played seriously, it takes a hell of a lot more work to do than any other fighter. I still plan to support the game and run some tournaments but it's costly. And it'll probably be hard to entice people to pick this up since every individual needs a copy. It's not like Tekken or SF where you only need one copy for two people to play.

Part of that is the nature of the game but another part is the game being too rough on the underpowered consoles. But that too is sonys fault. I really don't want this game to burn out and would love to see more mass appeal but it'll be rough.

Edit: Hell even LAN would be nice but as far as I know that's not an option.

Yeah, I'm definitely worried about local options. Namco never brought up LAN and this is supposed to have a global release at some point (basically meaning US) and no LAN is going to cripple it. Weren't they supposedly taking some input from western players? I highly doubt it didn't come up at some point.

Hot summer incoming, damn, super excited.

I am doubtful of a NA release (should I be? I thought 'global' really just meant Japan + Asia) but I don't want to be tied to the HK store for DLC, so I think I may grab the Japanese version. Price though... rough with the weak Canadian dollar.

The Vita spin off got released in the US (instead of Breaker 3 because yeah that's smart), so I'd say it has a decent chance.

I was hoping that global release talk was about the US. I coulda sworn they said "world wide".

Anyway, I'll be picking up a copy per region so whatever.

Another sad thing is that this game has loads of single player content and unlocks. Like, you don't even have to be that big of a Gundam fan to appreciate what it's doing. That could grab a bunch of casual players looking for some meat on the bones of a fighting game, and possibly convert them into semi-hardcore players.

But asking three of your friends to bring over three TVs, three PS4s, and three copies of the game is a little much. Only the big boys can get away with that shit.

Basically, I don't want this game to end up like Anarchy Reigns lol

Would somebody be able to make a guide on how to purchase this of the Japanese psn store.
Like the steps to find the Premium G Sound Edition

So I wonder how they'll do an NA release since it seems like Bamco love's the extra cash in their pocket with the "Premium Sound" business. But can they even be bothered to license any tracks for a western release?

At the very least, Gundam is a more well known a property, so it's at least got that much going for it! LOL

But seriously...yeah. Bamco has to be willing to do some things in the interest of this game's prospects if they want it to hit off in the West. LAN would be the easiest "gimme".

I'd expect it will be a digital only vanilla release, like Vs Force.

No. Entire soundtrack will be Linkin Park.

Also the Ez8, Nemo, Turn X, Blitz Gundam, Qubeley and Throne Eins; lot of new announcements today. I'm hyped for the Kimaris Trooper.

The real question/concern is how many units at launch?

They're shooting for 90ish, according to interview.s

I'm hoping a pass won't be required, since we're already dealing with PS+ requirement.
I would hate to be required to play on my JP account and get PS+ for it.
