Didn't know about Eight Days. Interesting to think about an alternate future where SCE London Studio would be producing big AAA titles for PS4 today if they went down the Eight Days path, but we got Wonderbook instead.

This seemed to happen a lot with WiiWare, which I followed avidly back in the Wii's heyday. Games would be announced and never heard from again.

I remember one in particular from a studio called Team Blooper. There were screenshots and interviews published. It was a game set on a plane in which creatures were attacking. It had a sort of cartoonish appearance to it. Was still hoping for it even a few years back.

Not as big as Agent or the like, but still.

They admitted it was cancelled in 2014.

On September 23, 2014 in an interview with Polygon about the cancellation of Blizzard's next generation MMO Titan, Mike Morhaime confirmed that StarCraft: Ghost was also cancelled. Morhaime said, "It was hard when we canceled Warcraft Adventures. It was hard when we canceled StarCraft: Ghost, but it has always resulted in better-quality work."

That Toki remake that was announced forever ago. I've always loved that game and really wanted that remake. Just did a quick search and didn't see anything saying it's been officially cancelled, but I'm guessing it has. Too bad, looked like it could have been cool.

WHY THE FUCK... I hate everybody involved in canceling this game!!! It's not because I thought it was an awesome game or a nice concept or anything! I am not the person that cares thaaat much if a game gets canceled or not. BUT! I hade a dream BEFORE the game was announced! It was a very weird, but somewhat realistic feeling dream. I was walking down the street at night in a big city and across the street I saw a girl being harassed by three guys in black suits(I think it was in front of a hotel IIRC). There was nobody else besides me. The whole street was deserted and that didn't feel normal. I ran across the street to help her! Suddenly, as I approach, she pulls out a sword/katana out of nowhere(kinda like Noctis) and cuts her harassers to pieces! Instead of dropping dead those guys disappeared like smoke, slowly fading away. I slowed down from running and approached her and asked her literally "Who the fuck are you?". She said "Lilly Bergamo" and BAM I woke up. I was pretty confused, because I remembered the dream and her clearly. I rarely remember dreams, but I didn't think too much of it. Days or weeks later the game was announced. I was in shock and super confused! Some time later the game got canceled and I was really disappointed. I wanted to know if there was ANY connection to my dream, but that got taken away from me and I am very angry because of it.

From what I remember the DI2 that was demoed/showed to publications was a hot technical mess, and then it got its lunch eaten by Dying Light? And then the developer had issues(??).

If it's still ongoing, it probably went through a reboot

I was about to say Fable Legends, but then I remembered. Feels like that whole debacle was swept under the rug. Sometimes even feels like Lionhead was closed just to save face and nothing else.

I wanna say Deep Down, but I wouldn't be surprised if it rose from the grave somehow in a couple years time with some new coat of paint.

I genuinely think the portable versions of Mighty No. 9 are done, though. Comcept are either hunkering down to get them out along with the remaining Kickstarter rewards tiers, or they've thrown their hands up in frustration and are trying to pretend it never happened.

Level-5 announced "Layton 7" for smartphones like six months after Azran Legacies. Then it vanished and resurfaced years later as a Werewolf/Mafia game. Then they announced an actual new Layton game due out this spring (which has also been strangely absent since its announcement.)

You can still see the Layton 7 page on the Japanese Layton site, but at this point I'll be stunned if it ever actually comes out.

Half Life 2: Episode 3 was never officially cancelled.

Valve just refuses to talk about Half Life in any meaningful way. Which i guess is close enough...

Anyway is Hiveswap ever coming out? I hear they ran out of money and had to restart several times, so prospects probably aren't good.

The bolded have since been confirmed as cancelled, either through announcement or because the studio shut down.

As for Get Even, I believe it's scheduled for late next month.

KOF 2 actually came out on PC, but it's an MMO. Also, Next Car Game was renamed Wreckfest.
