What games does everyone have?

I just have zelda and snippet clips now.
Oh yeah, I forgot to answer this.

Zelda: obviously. I've put it down at 120+ hours + 100 shrines + ⭐️ on the save file and the rest of the game can wait until the DLC drops.

Snipperclips: first game I bought; has been great for parties. Four-player at the bar last week, OMG.

Graceful Explosion Machine: see above.

Blaster Master Zero: haven't been feeling this one much, unfortunately.

Puyo Puyo Tetris: playing the NA demo, physical version ($32 with GCU; my daughter who has played a bunch of Puyo due to Project Mirai DX is excited about the keychain) on the way.

Zelda and BoI.

Will be getting Puyo Tetris despite owning the 3DS version already.

Wow, I just learned this hit 3DS.

Hi guys. I created a separate japanese account to grab a couple of extra demos, and now the news section is showing a bunch of articles in japanese. Anything I can do so those don't show? Or do I have to delete the japanese account.

And I'm reeaaally enjoying the Switch and its flexibility after buying it begrudgingly JUST to play Zelda on the TV. It's giving me a childlike exciting feeling like I haven't felt for a console in a long time. Zelda is incredible (for sure top5 best games of all time for me) and Snipperclips in tabletop mode is a blast with my girlfriend (not a gamer at all, but loves it). Bless Nintendo. Can't for more big releases like Mario Kart and Mario Odyssey.

Thought I'd share my experience going through several switches in the past month, the good news, I experienced no issues with the joycons, it would appear the issue has been rectified with the recent batch of consoles.

I haven't run into any issues with console displays either with no sign of stuck/dead pixels or issues with colour balance/temperature.

The switch console I had with a warped/curved tablet, seems to be a one off.

Unfortunately I have been running into issues with hair line cracks/scratches showing on the consoles to varying degrees, I think you certainly have to be lucky to end up owning a pristine console if such a thing does exist.

But most concerning to me is how common it is to find the dock bent inwards, my current consoles dock may be the worst one yet, I can feel the plastic pushing against the tablet while inserting the console.

My son doesn't find the attached joycons comfortable. He is ok with detached joycons because you hold them a little differently in the hand, and the pro controller is comfortable generally.

I'm not the person you relied to, but I find the Switch in default handheld mode uncomfortable to use. All the weight of it presses into the middle of my palms. Plus, the Pro controller is a gazillion times better than the Joy-cons.

When I want to play Zelda and the TV is in use, I remove the Joy-cons and sit cross legged with the Switch on my lap while using the Pro controller. Works well.

I find handheld mode super comfortable. When I got my Switch on launch, I was going back and forth between handheld and TV w/Pro Controller. I started liking handheld a lot more and have been playing Zelda exclusively that way for the last couple of weeks. Haven't played it on the TV at all.

Aiii

So not worth it
Using the Wii U gamepad holder is the only way to play, shitty kickstand angle should have been like this:

Picking one up sometime this week, any essential accessories I should get?

What size of mSD should I aim for?

Yay, i was worried on getting dinged for about 1500 dollars in taxes this year, but I'm coming getting back about 500, so I can start planning a switch purchase.

I have a poem that I totally stole from twitter

Roses are Red
Taxes are Filed

With my Orzly screen protectors, I got an Amazon code for 15% off of next purchase. Are any of their other products for Switch any good?

128+ sd card I would shoot for 200 that is where the sweet spot price point is. Case, Screen protector, pro controller if you are ever going to use it outside of handheld.

Have fun, it is a great system.

Online play.

We have two Switch's in the house, my daughters (8 years old) and my own. Will she be able to play online without the Nintendo service in the future? I'd like for her to be able to play online, but not talk to anyone. Basically, I want her to be able to play Mario Kart, Minecraft, Splatoon and ARMS online, but I don't want her to be able to hear the stuff I hear online. I gave online chat a chance with Minecraft on the Wii U, but some boys came into a her world and started calling her a bitch (heard with my own ears).

I don't wan to deprive her of multiplayer, just the randoms and their opinions.

We don't know too much about the online other than the fact that a smart phone app seems to be required for all voice chat and lobbies w/ friends. Free trial will launch with Splatoon 2 IIRC, paid version this fall

Screen Protector

Case

Extra USB C Cable
https://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030319&p_id=14941&seq=1&format=2

I live near the Monoprice Distribution center (I know, lucky) and they have a little store you can go in. I was able to get those USB cables in store for $3.50 each. I got three black and two pink. All tested and work great.

The case I posted is the best case I have ever purchased and the screen protectors work beautifully and were easy to put on. And I suck at put these kinds of things on.

Has anyone traveled with their Switch on a plane yet in the US?

Wondering what the protocol is for security. Can I just leave it in the case I bought for it, or should I take the whole unit out and throw it into a bin like I would a laptop?

Loving my switch, but the random switching by the TV to the HDMI input is killing me. It's switching when I'm watching movies, playing online on PS4.

I think they took the switch concept a little bit too literally.
There is no other fix currently than to turn off CEC entirely right? Which is sad because it's such a nice feature.

I think there's a feature you need to uncheck. Something with matching TV or something.

Deleting the Japanese account will only stop new ones from showing in your feed. The ones you already received will still be there. I imagine you have to reset the system to clear them out.

I recommend just rolling with it. They're fine.

I saw lots of people with laptop cases leaving the laptop in there. Why not just leave the Switch in the case? If there are problems the security will open it.

Hey guys, just thought I'd share my friend code with anyone that wants to fill up their friends list with other adults.

SW-3845-2101-2917

I plan to play the following games online:

Mario Kart
Minecraft
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Lego Worlds

I can't wait! Less than 2 weeks for Mario Kart!

I'm currently playing Lego City: Undercover and Zelda. Once I beat Lego City, I'll dive into Blaster Master, and then Shovel Knight.

I'd have to re-watch the video, but I'm 99% sure the Parental Controls app will cover just that scenario. I seem to remember the cute little Bowser video mentioning that you can restrict voice chat in online games.

Edit: Yep! You can restrict voice and messaging features for certain online titles. Seems like it's at the system level and not per account though. So if someone else wants to use her Switch you'd have to turn the feature off. Here's the video

Is the Switch really this disappointing in this regard?
Sitting about 3m away from mine I half of the time get a failed calibration of the motion controls while having the controller in question positioned as instructed. On a stable, flat surface with the stick pointing upward. This is the right Joy-Con i my case.

I'm thinking that the BT hardware is kind of shitty?
Being almost as expensive as a PS4 Pro you'd think that they could at least sync and properly connect the most common i/o operation being used on the console.

My problem is that while playing Breath of The Wild it's enough to just aim to the sides a couple of times for the point of origin to shift from looking straight forward down to Link's damn feet. I don't have to aim fast for this to happen. Happens every damn time. Left, right, up or down. It's exhausting having to readjust the sight all the time.

In comparison my Wii-mote connected to my laptop works flawlessly in this regard over at least 10m. There's nothing in the way between me and the console I might add.
I have a router close by, but if their tech that's entirely dependent on wifi to work to it's full extent can't cope with it what's the damn point?

Does everyone else experience this or do I have a bad set?
Only write if you're unbiased and don't praise the console just because it's from Nintendo. You can love any company you want as much as you want, but every piece of tech has flaws and this needs to be addressed and pointed out.

So am I the only day 1 Switch owner without Zelda yet?

I've been playing Fast RMX, World of Goo and Graceful Explosion Machine (my favourite of the 3) I chose these titles as they are easy to dip in and out of in small bursts, and I don't have time for a big game like Zelda yet. (I will either get Zelda in the summer, or wait for a "Game of the Year" edition with the DLC included.)

Of the titles coming soon I've got my eye on NBA Playgrounds, Wonderboy and maybe Arms. I am considering Minecraft as I've never tried it, but I think it will require longer play sessions than I have time for? If so, like Zelda, I will leave it until I get more free time in July / August.

I think you might have a bad set, as I've had zero issues of that sort and I've been playing a lot of different games and configurations since day one. I would send your Joy-Con in for replacement/repair ASAP.

Would be just my luck. Will have to do that then. Thanks!

I haven't had any of the Switch problems, even the Grips are easy to remove (or I just remove them like they are supposed to?). Joycons don't have any issues, range is great. Wifi works, haven't had any problems.

Clearly the manufacturer did skip a bunch of QA, but the hardware itself is pretty neat. When they get things sorted out, there will be a lot less of malfunctioning consoles or controllers. Maybe wait for the holidays if you can't stomach some growing pains? I mean, PS4 had abysmal analogs, the coating breaking after one week, XBox 360 had it's famous problems...

These things happen, and if you want to have a flawless consoles, maybe seriously wait at least a year so they weed out the kinks in the system? Just a friendly advice. Not everything needs to be had right away. I wait with games usually, all the modern games tend to need at least half an year to get all the necessary patches to get them working...
