It's pretty easy. Treat her like female Thor. Warrior with a fish out of water vibe. Nobody knew Thor all that well or his villains. Marketing helped alleviate that.
to be fair, your point isn't great either. This bad argument was directly addressed in the OP already
Or maybe they're waiting until Guardians is out first?
A Dr. Pepper consumer is generally very low income, Caucasian, and upper middle age. Dr. Pepper consumers are more likely to purchase Dr. Pepper during larger pantry stocking trips.
Guardians is out tho..
How is that image misleading? It's not like Wonder Woman doesn't have multiple characters that could have their own videos. Kirk's got a whole squad with him. Hera's got an island of Themiscyrans.
The fact WW doesn't have TV spots to feature yet is part of the problem being highlighted.

btw, you all might lol at Dr. Pepper demographics, which should tell you about the marketing prowess of the WW team:

No, it's not, it comes out May 5th
Yep. Wonder Woman's got basic cultural awareness levels just below Superman/Batman/Spiderman/Hulk in the sense that people are aware that she exists and have a basic sense of her iconography, but very few people outside of the existing comics fandom could actually describe her backstory, name any of her villains, et cetera.
But also, we can't discount the fact that this is a female-led superhero film, WB's just seen Ghost in the Shell tank, and there's a lot of basic sexism in the industry and conventional wisdom that says that nobody wants to see a female action hero so it isn't worth spending money on.
I'm not expecting it to be fantastic and I think the DCEU has been pretty awful so far, but I think chalking it up to 'WB doesn't think it's very good' is missing the forest for the trees. They're demonstrably fine with spending huge marketing budgets on not-great movies. It's the woman factor.
I see a lot of digital marketing, maybe these "journalists" that bitch and moan about adblockers should disable theirs?
🤔🤔🤔
I honestly didn't know Wonder Woman has her own movie coming out till this thread. I thought she was in some other movie with a bunch of other heroes. Is there a justice league movie coming out soon too? That's the one I know about.
Movie business is weird...
Was JL filming before we ever even saw a trailer for WW?
Was JL filming before BvS released??
Don't films take at least a year to make?

I thought it was coming in March...then April...then May...
I kinda lost interest in late March
Ummm..it's out. I'm American, but I don't pretend this is the center of the universe. Been in theaters in some spots since the 25th..
Justice League is November this year. Wonder Woman right now reminds me of Man of Steel. I don't remember any ads or many trailers for it and didn't know it was released until a week after it hit theaters.
I dunno.

I get the sinking suspicion that the marketing department is overthinking how to sell a female-led superhero film and can't decide on the best course of action to take, which leads to no action being taken at all.
Wonder Woman doesn't need to tell us about anyone except Wonder Woman.
I keep thinking this movie is coming out end of June or early July.
But nope, June 1st.
Really hope this is just a marketing stunt gamble for WB.

Yeah.
The ad campaign for Man of Steel was massive.
She's on Dr. Pepper cans. That's the extent of the marketing I've seen.
My would they make a movie like that and then not stand behind it with marketing? Also even if you're right, it wouldn't be hard to make trailers that make her part look bigger than it is.(My personal worry: They know exactly what they have, and what they have is a Wonder Woman movie where Captain Kirk is the primary hero, and you can't really sell that and not drive the anticipation for your movie into the dirt).
I see TV spots saying May 5th. It's out May 5th to me, because I don't care enough about it to google when it came out in other regions.

After BvS & SS, maybe sponsorship partners don't want anything to do with these movies?
Better bet to partner with WBs other franchises like Harry Potter and Lego.
Man, I was good at ignoring it then.
Warner Bros.' 'Man of Steel' Nabs $170 Million in Promotional Dollars
The Superman reboot has 98 partners -- more than "The Dark Knight Rises" -- with Sears playing a "dramatic role" in the film, plus action figures (Mattel), razor blades (Gillette), cars (Chrysler), shoes (Converse) and even the National Guard.
It's a bird! It's a planet! It's an ad!
Warner Bros. has booked a whopping 98 promotional partners worldwide so far that are providing about $170 million in support (on top of paid ads) for Man of Steel. Thats even more than The Dark Knight Rises $150 million in third-party promos last summer. In addition to those already on board, Warners sources say even more international partners are expected before the movie takes flight June 14 in the U.S. and elsewhere this summer.
