I love how he wants an FPS counter on this console, cause you can't help but wonder why spend the extra money if you can't see the difference without a giant flashing indicator to remind you.
A transparent FPS counter in the top right corner is the most I would ask for, Steam style.
But even that is far far faaaaaaaaar down on my list of priorities.
He's all over the place
How the fuck can anyone working at Polygon genuinely call themselves journalists?
All I ever see from them these days is pure bullshit.
Listen, no one is going to buy whats promised to be the most powerful gaming console ever created to not know the frame rate of each game in real time.
He means that he loved Polygon for sharing gaming news, but wants them to not exist because they are reporting on something everyone on neogaf has been asking for everyday for years. Sounds like the story when a 13 year old girl wanted a pony delivered by a pink helicopter with Barbie flying it, then daughter asks to be put up for adoption because parents forgot the specific shade of pink she liked most. What do you mean?
Consumers already have a FPS counter for consoles... Is called Digital Foundry... Also consoles are nothing like the PCs. FPS counters in the PC world is used to test every new piece of hardware.OK so you hypocrites cry for pointless 60 FPS, now you get demanding system that boasts about the performance that you've been begging for and say it's dumb?
I can't believe someone actually wrote and think this (in a non-satiric way, I mean)
Edit. Is this parody? The tone of the article isn't really clear and reads like a serious request rather than parody, but parody would make more sense.
Oh lol, I see. A closest PC fanboy rant. Whoops didn't get the inside arguments there. I forgot PC must not be matched so that console peasants can be laughed at by having less.Consumers already have a FPS counter for consoles... Is called Digital Foundry... Also consoles are nothing like the PCs. FPS counters in the PC world is used to test every new piece of hardware.
You know microsoft would just put a sticker.
I legitimately thought this meant first person shooter counter for a little bit.
I can hear my plasma TV screaming from the burn-in right now.
Same here.
I don't get the disgust of some of the reactions. It'd be a neat little feature for a console being sold on raw power to people who care about raw power.
I can take it or leave it, but its a fine suggestion, and better than putting that info up on the game screen imho. Its also obvious that there wouldn't be many upsides for MS and devs on this, and potential downsides for both, which doesn't make it a very realistic suggestion. But as a player, *I'd* appreciate it.
I see what you did there.
It will be so solid 60 it will get burned into the TV.
Was there ever a problem with having a clock tell time on a cable box?Actually, in my stupidity I thought Polygon wanted a FPS counter on the TV screen, but it turns out that they want it on the console, excuse me for misunderstanding their great idea.
But you are bitching up a storm over it anyway.Fuck. No.
Besides adding this stupid feature would work against MS' best interest for the system. The moment a game had a framerate drop, people would bitch up a storm.
You heard them MS, go back to 30fps and 900p. They secretly wanted all along. No need to prove to anyone that your system is more powerful than competitors.
