Anyone played 2064: Read Only Memories? It's been on my list for awhile, since I love the aesthetic in the trailer, but I don't think I've actually heard any impressions of it.

It's a fun point and click with shades of Snatcher without the grossness of a Kojima game. The voice cast they added is really nice too. It's a deal at that price.

Anyone else having checkout issues? I added a new credit card last week for the golden week sale and haven't been able to checkout with a browser since.

Anyone on the fence about ME Catalyst, buy it, I liked it more than the first ME game, beautiful, fluid and extremely fun game. For 10$ is a must.

Slain for $5 is totally worth it. Great little game.

Will buy the technomancer at that price. Even tho I never did beat that last boss in bound by flame.
Hahaha, I never beat that fucker either (played on Hard). Game was OK, but not nearly good enough to be worth my time and frustration, so I just never finished it.

Not sure about ever bothering with Technomancer. Mayyyybe one day if I'm ever in some sort of drought (like I was when I played Bound by Flame), but right now? Nope.

Is Slain back from hell any good ?
Bought Slain. Hope its good.
It's easily worth it, for that price, assuming it runs OK on PS4 (don't see why it wouldn't). It's a fun old-school side-scroller with decent combat, glorious art and kick-ass music.

Here's my Steam review for Slain, if anyone's interested in some impressions:

Pretty nice guy (apart from the blue shadows thing...)
An absolute steal for ROM, which will also be Vita cross-buy by extension.

I'm such an asshole, literally like 12 things I've added to my cart, decided to check Steam and I already owned them. God damn bundles. At least my desktop is now covered with shortcuts of things I'm forcing myself to play.

Grabbed Soma though, wanted that for awhile.

Picked up 2064: ROM and Alone with You. Had a blast with the demo of the former on PC years ago, but haven't got the chance to buy it until now.

Is there significant changes between the original ROM (which IIRC is the version I played with the demo) and 2064: ROM besides voice acting?

Is the Söldern X2 bundle the definitive version, the one that includes everything? I ask because it's the cheaper of the two offerings.

Hoping for the Danganronpa games to go on sale next time...just picked up a new Vita memory card and I've been looking forward to checking those games out.

It's worth it for 10 if you like Metroid type games. The value is there unless 10 is what you want for like a 20 hour game. I think I ended up getting about 10-15 hours and I didn't 100% it, something like in the 80s I think. But I play slow.

There are some great games in here. I see quite a few getting some love, but here are some not many are talking about that are great:

PS4 Games:
inFAMOUS First Light - $5.99

If you like inFamous gameplay, you'll likely love this. While smaller than a main infamous game, it has great powers and part of the game is a cool, dedicated arena mode which really let's the combat shine.

Risk of Rain - $3.49
Realllly good. It's kind of unique, and almost seems simplistic, so watch videos first. You essentially fight baddies on an alien planet, getting pick ups that wildly change gameplay, and deciding when to move to the next area before you get swarmed.

Assault Android Cactus - $4.49
Dual stick bliss. This game is absolutely fantastic. Possibly the hardest platinum I've gotten, if you want to dedicate yourself to this game it will reward skill with it's combo system, but it's fun to just kill stuff too if you're not into that.

Crimsonland - $1.39

MORE dual stick bliss, and at that price, a STEAL. It was worth full price. Don't be fooled by the simplistic, almost ugly graphics, this game is a finely tuned, near perfect, dual stick shooter with an absolute ton of content, great weapons, and a great overall feel.

Galak-Z - $7.99
It wasn't quite as great as I wanted it to be, but damn is it still good.

Neon Chrome - $4.49
By the same people that did Crimsonland, but with more of a branching storyline [you go through a building, and you can unlock new rooms/etc for future plays]. It's missing a little magic to make it stellar, but it's still a solid buy.

Titan Attacks! - $1.99
Ultratron - $1.99
Think indie fast paced versions of Space Invaders and Robotron. Both are fun, both have issues, both are a bit too easy for me. But at those prices? Worth it if you like the originals.

PS Vita:
Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype - $2.99
Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype Complete Bundle - $2.59

Great shmups.

Crimsonland - $1.39
Risk of Rain - $3.49
See above

Super Stardust Delta Interstellar Bundle - $5.99

Super Stardust Vita is even BETTER than than the original. There's one major change -- instead of 3 'bullet' types [different ammo = better destruction of certain asteroids/enemies], they reduced it to 2. While this sounds like a major drawback, in practice it really amps the game up and actually improves overall gameplay. This game is absolutely fantastic.

Velocity Ultra - $1.49

SO good. I hate platformers, and this is basically shmup meets platformer meets time trials, but it's so well designed and so... perfect... it's worth every cent.

You might be thinking of the sequel, Velocity 2X. Velocity Ultra doesn't have platforming.

It's still an excellent game, and easily worth that price.

Can someone please tell me if it's worth getting the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe over the regular version?

Here.

It varies, the Alien Hunters dlc gives you some unique new weapons/armor but also makes the game more difficult early/mid when they start hunting you.

Shen's Last Gift is worth it because it gives you a robot unit that is super OP for the early game and remains strong throughout the entire game. It basically replaces the SHIV from Enemy Unknown but doesn't have the drawback of taking up two squad unit slots and is way more versatile.

The other dlc is just cosmetic stuff for your squad.

Oh, I know, I should have been better with my words. I've plat'd both [not easy]. You're right, V2 does add actual platforming, but what I was trying to get at was that even though it's technically a shmup, it owes something to the platforming genre due to the precision flying, perfect timing, dodging in and out of tunnels, etc...

Because it's the Super Metroid sequel Nintendo will never make. And how can you not support the dev?

Man - this was beautiful up until I read they'd put that kid through a bone marrow transplant - that's an extremely high morbidity treatment with no evidence for treating that disease. I wish people wouldn't go outside approved medical therapies - there really is a reason they're not approved :(

Anyways, he absolutely deserves support.

Infamous: First Light worth it?

I have Second Son and it's pretty enjoyable (except for the protagonist).

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about Headlander. It was one of my favorite games of last year.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
How scary is Soma compared to Amnesia?

Repurchase Doom and finally dipping into Slain.

Soma isn't really that scary. It does have tense moments and a few monster encounters reminiscent of Amnesia, but its not attempting to mirror the fear element. Definitely more sci-fi than horror.
