More bits

- He says Crucible is changing to 4v4 because Bungie "tested it and found it more fun"

- Hints at the new heavy weapon type being grenade launchers

I can see that, I found 3v3 a hell of a lot more fun than 6v6, which I didn't like much. Less Supers and tag teams too worry about too, and just less laggy. But it would be really weird without at least 1 6v6 option, I guess a reason for that is they want smaller maps and having 4 more would make them too cramped.

I don't remotely see how Control would be fun with 4 players.

I really don't like the idea of 4 vs 4 in game modes such as Clash and Control. But I play elimination most of the time so I'll survive.

Also, gun shaders isn't something new, we already have that in a different form.

I completely agree with anyone who feels like 60 fps is a deal-breaker for their console buy. The competitive MP in Destiny 1 is one of my favorite aspects of the game, but the lack of dedicated servers and 60 fps makes it feel behind the times (sluggish, yes, but also domed behind walls, anyone?).

Basically, choosing PC strictly for 60 fps sends a productive message to Bungie that they need to start actually considering it a needed feature, and not an optional one. Titanfall 2, Call of Duty, and a lot of other competitive games have it out of the box. It's not a rejection of Destiny 2; just a rejection of the feature set on release, and jumping to PC can reinforce the importance of that.

Personally, I want to get it on both console and PC, but it's going to sting pretty bad if it's not 60 fps at least in MP on console. I know it probably won't be, but I want to pray that they at least get that.

I mean the locations and abilities have been leaked or rumored for quite some time. You can see the abilities in the fake but real character artwork that leaked out months ago and those locations have been rumored a lot too. Hell, there is concept art that exists for some of the locations from Destiny 1 pre-production.

The locations they leaked, by specific name & quantity no less, has not been talked about before. Like many are pointing out in this thread - this leaker is going against the prevalent leaks & saying Saturn & its moons are not going to be featured here, and i've had that confirmed to me as well.

If this leak is right, you want to talk about the meltdown that will happen tomorrow. Earth, Taken, some random outer system moons, no sparrows, only three new subclasses with the subtraction of one per character, big Crucible changes, massive changes to the weapon system, etc.

Yeah, people will go crazy. But I really don't see an issue, except that people have expected too much. I'm still super hyped, even with what I'm hearing from this leaks.

Just to collect all of the stuff that stands out as weird from this leak:

- All Crucible modes will be 4v4, which would obviously include Control.
- Machine guns are gone.
- You have two primary slots, one for "elemental" primaries, while sniper rifles and shotguns now use the same heavy ammo as swords and rocket launchers.
- You don't get Sparrows until the end of the game.
- Despite Shinobi's leak getting a ton of stuff right, this Reddit leaker says he was wrong about Saturn. It's not in the game at all.
- Taken are back.
- A huge portion of the game takes place on Earth, in the European Dead Zone area that we already visited in Destiny 1.

Yeah if this is all accurate there will be major meltdowns all over the place. Even if some / a lot of good comes out of it this is all going to be extremely controversial to the fan base

Obviously control ain't coming back.
More fun indeed.

This leak is seriously a downer- while there's some cool tidbits here and there, most of it just sounds not only bad, but like Bungie didn't learn from all their Destiny 1 mistakes.

Maybe I should hop off and cool off, but this is seriously affecting me- I had high hopes for this game and this guy is just crushing them.

Wasn't there a time, before launch, when snipers were heavys?

Where have we visited the European Dead Zone? Crucible maps? I can't believe that I need to ask this based on how much I've played.

Edit: I also don't like the part that exotics will be even more common now. :lol It's clearly a game which is being designed even more for the casual players, which one should understand when you think of the budget etc. But still, I had hope. I'm still going to play the shit out of it though.

I'm just saying, if I was making up bullshit, Titan, Io, and Europa would be at the top of my list for D2 locations. He even says Myriad is a made-up name, but it's basically Io/Europa. We'll see in less than 12 hours.

that's fine, it will still be the biggest game of 2017

Yeah we've only visited the European Dead Zone in the Crucible. Maps like Widows Court and Memento.

My speculation is definitely that if we are spending time on Earth, which is all but guaranteed at this point, we are going to spend some time in European Dead Zone.

It's just been teased at for way too long.

I don't mind having most of the game on earth, as long as we don't spend any of it in the areas that were in D1.
Just want new spaces

I wouldn't really call that a proper visit. We know from old vidocs that this area was meant to fleshed out more.

I don't think he's implying that it's catastrophic that we've seen parts of it already. More like just indicating that we've seen it earlier.

Edit: I guess I was kinda wrong.

4v4 actually makes sense. A lot of players have found that Destiny 1 plays a bit better with this number in certain modes. Also would maybe support the idea that normal fireteam size is now 4?

Machine guns, does seem weird, but with two primary choices they would probably be a less ideal choice for that heavy slot (especially with snipers being moved off and *maybe* now a one-shot body weapon? Having two primary choices is actually a bold and interesting move imo, and plays into the changes that they have made recently in D1 to reduce special weapon reliance; now people can just pick 2 reasonable good choices for close and long distance and rely on those for multiple situations. Shotgun / Sniper being moved off to heavy is going to piss a lot of the better players off though in competitive, since it does close a skill gap (makes the game better for normal humans, and worse for 2.0+ kd Gods).

No speeder early is dumb, but then again, it will make the areas take longer to explore which might be okay if the content density is better.

Revisiting the same areas; probably a lot of people fine with that if it's a limited "see how the world changed since D1" kind of thing. That said, if we are retreading a lot of the same ground, yes, people are going to be upset and rightly so. Hope this part is only partly true.

edit: These are of course videogame leaks, so realizing it's more than likely bullshit -- just trying to see how it *could* be true based on D1 changes.

Yeah, nothing wrong with that.

I feel like if you're going to expand on something teased in PvP maps in the first game, it should be a brand new planet like Mercury. Not a new area on a planet we already visited.

The whole point of a sci-fi space game where you fly a ship around should be to visit other planets. We had Earth in the first game. And then they already expanded Earth with the Rise of Iron expansion.

To have a large portion of Destiny 2 also take place on Earth? That's just really disappointing to me.

But we'll see.

There's no way they completely scrapped everything they had for Saturn.
Also no new classes? Gotta be BS.

Better question, what happened to all of that Mars content that was being worked on years ago -- the social space, the new patrol area, the new raid? I assume the geometry could be used for a different location.

Yeah, this 'leaker' looks like he is full of shit. There was a similar named (since deleted reddit account) that posted stuff about Rise of Iron (I think). He writes similary too.

He is trying to hard as welll with his barrage of replies. He is getting too excited for his 'moment' in the limelight on reddit.

No new classes.

And no, Saturn content wasn't scrapped, just being reworked for now. Apparently this is the big shakeup Luke Smith facilitated.

Honestly, hearing more about it, my excitement is back to 10. I just gotta decide if i'll stick with PS4 or switch to PC.

Why would earth be a disappointment?

It's not going to be old Russia.

Given that the CG trailer was set in the aftermath of the Towers fall, then surely it will be?

That would actually make some sense. Whatever, 10 more hours!

This might be the worst attempt at a leak i've ever seen. The dude should at least put some effort into it, jesus.

What mistakes? People that logged 400hours said Bungie can do no wrong

Then this people have some fantastic revisionism going on.
For example, by far one of the biggest complaints, on launch and up to this day, has been how few and small the zones Destiny 1 has.
And now apparently they went and... did it again. It blows my mind if this is true.

We're just about out of places in the Solar System unless they want to start saying the gas giants were terraformed into rocky planets. We've got the outer moons and that's it. So sooner or later, we're gonna be revisiting planets.

Leaker said he believes ranked is happening in Crucible.

Boy, would I love a legitimate ranked mode with seasons and stuff. Hell, straight up steal Overwatch's "play of the game." I would adore seeing that at the end of every Crucible match.

Yeah the mouse and keyboard ones would be amazing.

Well if we assume this leaker is telling the truth, and Trials of Osiris is Trials of the Nine. We do have a confirmed Expansion Pack set to be dealing with Osiris related content.
There is an extremely good chance that Expansion I is Mercury content. Great opportunity to expand on the story, PvE and PvP.

A lot of assumptions but I don't think it's farfetched.
