Am I correct in that the microstuttering is/was predomentently caused by poorly optimized code relating to CPU threading, cores, etc?
I ask because at the moment I'm getting a ton of microstutter with The Witcher 3 whenever using tweaks to increase the grass distance. It's always been on-and-off, where sometimes I get microstutter and other times I don't, but now it's consistent. It's a shame as it basically makes the game unplayable when using grass settings beyond ultra, the game incrementally hitching the same way FH3 did whenever moving through the world, particularly in dense grassy areas.
I assume, like FH3, this is the CPU hitching with the load of having to stream all the foliage in.
