Monster Hunter XX coming to Switch

Hey y'all.

1) Leave the "Monster Hunter for PS4" speculation out of this thread. Gets folks riled up.

2) Calm down.

3) We frown upon port-begging. Speculation about a completely different game isn't quite port-begging, but it is annoying, hence the first message.

4) You don't want gaming mods to go hard as hell on port-begging, especially in regards to the Switch. Relax. If you have a problem, point it towards a mod. Even if I don't handle gaming side, I can pass it to another mod who will.

Would buy MonHun-themed joycon!

Now I need to think whether I should continue investing time into Generations or hold off..

You recall wrong (for the second at least) since they never localized the third PSP entry until the PS3's HD version.

I haven't followed the series since MHFU, so my knowledge on it is severely limited. How much did the last Sony entry sell versus the last Nintendo entry?

Do the audiences get platform fatigue, or is it just too many entries perhaps?

Do you think there might be a chance that show off MH 5 when they show of MH XX for Switch?

I mean Capcom released MH4 teaser when they showed off MH 3g...

That's the $64,000 question now, isn't it? Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Capcom leaves it at just this and leaves a possible MH5 for the next year or so. But if that were to happen, it would likely be at the Tokyo Game Show while they would use E3 to show off MHXX and confirm that it is indeed coming to the west.

Still, if they actually pulled that off, Capcom would have people lining up around the world since region locking is a thing of the past and people won't hesitate to get their hands on some MH action on the Switch.

ALL-NEW #5 For SWITCH

5) This is your Maginot Line. Don't talk about MH for PS4. Don't talk about MH for PS4 being dumb, smart, or any form in-between! Don't talk about others talking about!

I can picture a "MH5 on Switch Coming <Season> 2018" along with a logo, just to let fans know it's coming at the very least.

Can't wait to play this from beginning to end as felyne.

Loved what I played of Prowler mode on 3DS (I have about 40 hours logged in that game only as a cat man). Hope they keep expanding on it in future titles.

What do you think the control scheme will be like? Similar to the WiiU port of TriG? Will touch screen be important? Motion controls like the Wii version of 3?

fatigue most likely. Most people werent expecting them to do a G rank version of Generations since it was an anniversary game(especially since I recall them denying it would even happen when Gen got released there)

Its been stuck on 3DS for a while people are waiting for the next big leap for the series

Well hopefully this is a chance to expand with a new audience. Was the addition of G rank the only main feature between X and XX? If so, yeah I can see why it wouldn't sell up to expectations.

I haven't played a MH since the WiiU, and nothing has quite scratched that same itch so I'll be jumping on this for sure!

Man I wish I saw what everyone else sees about this game. I love the idea of it but every time I buy one I play a few hours and are bored to tears.

It'll be just like MHX on a New 3DS, I expect. The sub-triggers and button combo will be used to fire off the possible 3 Arts, and all the 3DS touchscreen stuff will work from the menu instead.

I can't imagine that the touchscreen will be required for anything at all, if that's what you're asking. There's already button shortcuts for your Style moves, and in general, there isn't anything that you can do on the touchscreen that couldn't already be done normally. It was just a nice bit of convenience.

To that final point yes I really do. Where is this when ppl do it for the switch repeatedly.

Anyway if the city's of Philadelphia grace me with a switch monster hunter is my go too

What was the critical response to MHXX in Japan?

Even though I personally enjoyed it, I do acknowledge that Generations is a breeze for veterans and that environments were kind of a step back. Did MHXX introduce anything to alleviate any of this?

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Apparently people like ignoring multiple warnings from mods.
Feels like people wanna get this thread closed ASAP for some reason. Not a good look... But then again stuff like MH brings out the worst of many fanboys.

Glad they finally announced it. Now i wonder if it'll be much later or can they get it day and date with the North America 3ds launch. Or will they make me wait for 6 months.

Have about 200 hours of Generations and for some reason never dared to experiment this. How's it like?

I enjoy it because it lets me focus on combat more so and not so much things like item management for gathering. Prowlers have to be downed 3 times before they re-spawn at the camp. They have infinite of gathering items, so no hassle there either. It seems like an easier mode all around really.

It's kind of lacking in play-styles compared to humans but there are a couple of nice focuses (traps, horn, boomerang upgrades to name a few).

Day 1!! Haven't really played the series since the PSP days with Unite, plz tell me they've nerfed the RNG drops so you're not stuck killing the same monster 100 times for a specific part

I didn't like 3DS for MH...but not because of "muh HD MH", but I don't think 3DS's button layout is particularly good.
Not sure if Capcom will make things simpler with the added buttons (freed up d pad and triggers), but hopefully they do. As is it's a bit too complex for newcomers. Making the camera better would be nice too.
I guess this is why they bothered porting MT Framework, but hopefully they put effort into this. If the assets aren't going to improve much, a solid resolution and performance could make up for that.

So the second screen was not really used for much?

Real talk, I feel like this is gonna be a hit for college campuses.

I remember lugging my Wii U around for MH3U sessions with my friends in high school.

Why? Is it the combat? The grind for materials?
Personally the game just feels extremely lousy to control imo.
I bought it thrice on 3ds and each time quit feeling exhausted after a fight or two. Unless theyre reworking this or the next one for consoles specifically i cant get back into it

Nice! Hopefully the conversion quality will be at least as good as Tri G on Wii U, with clean textures, native res and detailed vistas.
