Actually, I'd argue they have it right. If they release Wesker, Zero, and Vergil, I'm only buying Wesker, because he's the only one of those I used in MvC3. I already know how they play. On the other hand, if we get, say, Leon, I'm buying him regardless because I like RE. Granted, plenty of people use Zero or Vergil, so it's not like that DLC wouldn't sell...but I think the newness factor is important for DLC.

Putting vets in the base game gets people to buy it. Ideally the game would be a mix of old and new characters, but there's not enough people in the base roster to really do that. I'm curious as to how the overall DLC plan will go.

1 or 2 classics could make people put up with 3 or 4 fresh, new characters. Especially as a full season pass set. Plus, I personally find my DLC value much better respected by 100% new assets, and not characters where 70% of their moves are ripped from old animation files and texture resources. But that's probably more "me", and less then general populace.

DLC doesn't bother me much, but Capcom is depending on DLC being the meat of the game's new experience lately, and that's getting tiring. Hope whatever they reveal at E3 puts a better light / perspective on how they're progressing with this project...

My guess, they couldn't use the mutants and if it was planned to be MCU focused sans TV.

I mean, last time around we got 2 more Marvel characters revealed than Capcom ones. Announcing characters in pairs is literally the most basic assumption/knowledge we have about reveals, and it did not apply.
