WipEout Omega Collection releasing on June 6

Just a few more days. Gonna take the weekend to review and revise my Spotify playlist for the game. I'm loving what I have so far, but it's also sounding far more... eclectic than I expected. This is what happens when you're raised on Hip-Hop and House music.

“We played around with the idea of an interactive comic called Wipeout Chronicles, which would shed some light on the backstory of WipEout’s founder

Man this would have been so incredible! There's the foundations for some great sci-fi already with the WipEout lore.

Pretty hyped for this. I have amazing memories of Wipeout all the way back to PS1 era.

I'm bummed by the music issue but trying to not let it get to me, esp with Spotify workaround.

There is a surprising amount of series lore but it's kinda hard to find unless you seek it out. Comic would have been cool.

Does anyone know if the US amazon preorder comes with the Van Uber ship? I just emailed my Amazon rep and they indicated as much, but it was a little garbled and not terribly confidence-inspiring.

I loved wipeout fusion on ps2

Bought all the ps3/vita games (wich I understand is this collection) but did not click at the same level

Shorter tracks
Not so big difference between ships (like the unique weapons they had in fusion)

I liked the 3D in the ps3 version. Is that still here, in 60fps now? Might buy these games for the third time..third platform

So close to preordering this. Just need some reassurance on the 4k mode. Have there been any impressions reported from the 4k mode? In particular if it can hold framerate. Hoping for a locked 60 and not some "unlocked" situation.

And with Dirt 4 being a continuation of Colin McRae as well as Crash Bandicoot, Micro Machines and a game from Media Vision, June is the 90's revisited.

This whole year is 90s revisited with RE 7 going back to its survival horror/exploration roots (sort of) and Japan gaming in general becoming very good again (Nier Automata, Nioh, Yakuza 0, Zelda, etc.) plus we have the TRUE successor to Super Mario 64 coming this Fall. It's really a dream come true because there was a long stretch of time during the ps3/360 era where the gaming landscape was unrecognizable and unappealing to me.

Dynamic 4k has been mentioned before so if performance stress is too high, the resolution will dip but not the framerate like in the ps3 version. Not reporting on actual impressions but it seems likely.

Dynamic res probably the better of two evils. That's good news.

Someone must have playtested though and I'm sure some copies have arrived early. Might scour youtube...

Since we don't get the cool case in NA should I just get digital version or physical. I like the convince of digital but since I already bought RE7, MGSV, and FF15 physicsl and was planning to for crash I kinda want a physical PS1 games modern sequels collection on my shelf.

Argh decisions decisions

Can't decide. This or DIRT 4? 🤔
Ain't got money for both with Arms coming up 🙄

Skip Arms?

Not telling you what to do but from what I played of Arms I wouldn't get that much out of it, it's pretty shy on content, even if it is fun. While Dirt and Wipeout 2048 are sure to be packed with things to do.

Get this. Its going to awesome and if it sells we will get wipeout ps4!

Now that would be something 👍🏻

Skipping Arms is not an option. My two sons have a Switch too, and it's gonna be fun kickin their butts ( in a digital way)
guess they'll kick my ass

When are the reviews out for DIRT4 and WipeOut btw?

This is pretty much the ps1 all over again. Strider, Metal Gear, Marvel VS Capcom, Tekken, Gran Turismo, Crash Bandicoot, WipEout... Even Farpoint gave me a similar feeling to getting Time Crisis with a G-Con 45!

Got myself a copy as well. The 90s are back and that's a good thing. I hope it sells well enough for a true PS4 WipEout.

Sounds like as good a reason as any.

Shame they didn't add 4 player split to Wipeout to be honest. That's the worst thing about this collection.

Saw some YouTube vids and looked silkly smooth. So went and preordered.

The fidelity in the gameplay I have seen is nuts. Looks so good. Although I noticed the ai count is only 7 in single player races. I was hoping they could squeeze a few more in!
