Gonna be interesting to see how the Pokémon Direct goes tomorrow.

Admittedly, it would be fairly disappointing if Switch isn't mentioned at all. I think a Stars 3DS/Switch release is likely, but at the same time I know how TPC likes to operate. B2/W2 released on the DS even after the 3DS released. Although this time the Switch isn't BC with the 3DS so that changes the game a bit.

I really just hope it isn't 3DS exclusive at this point. I won't be shocked if it is, but it would be a missed opportunity if that's the case.
the thing is, B/W 2 and Crystal can also be played on the 3ds and Gba, they could act as a cross-gen release. This in another hand is different, Star being a 3ds exclusive and Switch will miss out completely
The monster hunter discussion will continue until it's actually announced and even then I think in the short term that will only fuel the discussions anyway. At this point it's potentially the biggest 3rd party franchise in Japan and has a history of jumping platforms. It's inevitable that there will be a lot of discussion around its future. He fact that capcom is the company making the game only makes things worse.

I don't really mind it's just that the conversations are very cyclical and nothing new is really ever added to the conversation. At least after the announcement we'll have something new to discuss even though it's going to heat up the console wars something crazy.
but what if the series will just end up moving to the switch and that's it

MH discussion will never end. It didn't end when MH4 was announced for the 3DS, and it won't end when MH5 is announced for whatever.

I agree though. The fact that it's essentially the same exact conversation every week is a bit tiring. It should be more interesting once Capcom actually reveals it (or that will make it a hundred times more unbearable, but we'll see).

Surprise Surprise. Pages of MH5 PS4 discussion and as far as I can tell no mention of ff7r, kh3, resident evil or persona 5 ports outside of this post.
Wow, please tell me you are joking.....I would assume you know exactly why the chatter is stronger for mh PS4 at the moment.....

Moment of truth for that Eurogamer report tomorrow. I trust them so I'll go with what they said and predict it will be Switch only.

  • “MatterFall” (announced in 2015, listings were recently added to various Spanish retailers, a re-reveal is likely soon)
Square Enix
  • “Wander Arts” (also trademarked in Europe)
Koei Tecmo
  • “Atelier Online”
  • “Bureseiru no Renkinjutsushi” (Alchemist of Braceir / Breseir / Breceil / insert other romanization attempt here)
  • “Shin Sangoku Musou Zan” (the Japanese title of Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed)
Nippon Ichi Software
  • “Koeroku”
FuRyu
  • “Nisemono-Hime to Juu-Nin no Konyakusha” (Fake Princess and the 10 Fiancees)

nah, if either PS or Switch got an exclusive MH, the chatter would turn into when will the other get a port or not, etc.

Unless both consoles got the same game simultaneously. But then the chatter would be "which will sell better?"

Atelier online sounds like either a mobile game or a good excuse to go PS4 only(+PC in the west).

Online game and console only does not sound feasible lol. PC is almost guarantted a must.

So u mean, we will forever be tortured by MH discussion? Goddo help us.

If MH5, MH5G, MH6, MH6G, MHX2 and MHXX2 are Switch games, people will still be speculating, gossiping and bitching about whether or not MH7 will be a PS5 game.

By then we'll on to much more important things.
Like if FF7 episode 1 will be at PS5's E3 conference.

and then there will be a 4chan rumor anout MH7 being a cinematic movie fps game and the portable series being resurrected as switch 2 exclusive and shit

Given that they can't even afford to keep the quality up with their single-player games, I struggle to think how they'd manage an online game also.

The other one is clearly their next console game. Although I wonder if it's the start of a new series or not. Mysterious never properly seemed to take off.

Interested to see what FuRyu's game is.

A mobile game by Gust is probably the only logical move and that even scare me for how underwhelming it can do seeing how bad Koei manage their mobile push lol.

For Furyu, lets see what big names they are pushing again this time lol.

S-E continuing their streak of releasing troubled mobile game now with Sino Alice. Not only it is hit with censorship controversy, huge maintenance immediatly after the launch lol.

They already made a mobile Atelier game:

http://atelier.wikia.com/wiki/Atelier_Questboard

They re-used all the assets for the 3DS version of Atelier Rorona, lol.

Lol. And i never heard that game at all at Qooapp lol. Shows how dead the game is i think.

I'm not the one who brought up ff7r, kh3, resident evil or persona 5 Switch port begging as a counter for the MH5 PS4 port begging.

Of course I know why the chatter for MH PS4 is stronger. 4chan rumor and a 7-month old Capcom Q&A.

I hope it does get announced for PS4 just so we can move on. Because if it's announced for Switch only there will be years of speculation about how the PS4 will surely get MH6.

No mate, its E3 and Sony just came out and said they would have some big Japanese games to announce.

Whilst true I don't think that means anything specific to Monster Hunter. There's a massive number of things that could be referring to.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if Sony had a big trailer for the new Dynasty Warriors game for instance.

The timing for a MH5 announcement doesnt seem right, in my opinion. Capcom has both Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter XX this fall. Both are "old" games, but still.

That hasn't stopped Sony from having games announced at E3 years before they even release.

You mean like KH3 and FF7r? :p

Or FFXIII vs? :p

Deep Down was announced at E3 but hasn't even come out while stuff like Street Fighter V already released.

They were both titles Sony had a hand in, in some way.

E.g. Sony was assisting Capcom on Deep Down with regards to the Panta Rhei engine.

While true, its not just about announcing games early though. Its about having competing games in the same genre, from the same company, not being released yet and announcing a new one on top of that.

I'm sure Deep Down has been retooled into whatever MH PS4 will get one day.

Or it was always some form of vaporware

I think it is going to be low 80s for reviews across the board. It'll have similar complaints as launch Splatoon with lack of content and some may have problems with the controls or online components of the game.
So it will be a game that will gain users and trusts ovver time then
