Sony 2017 E3 Conference: Chun Li's face and L2 R2 L2 R2 L2 R2

What a train-wreck of a show. To their credit, just showing games was the right move.

Besides God of War and Spiderman and maaaaybe SOC remake, everything else was meh. Also that huge VR segment really ruined the pacing.

Sony 6/10
Microsoft 7/10
EA 0/10
Bestheda 5/10
Ubisoft still leads 8/10

Surprise us Nintendo
Metroid Prime 4

What in the actualy fuck is happening to E3 this year?

Like quality of the conferences are extremely under delivering to super unprecedented levels.

Its like everybody had a secret vendetta to make E3 look plain bad.

Sony's conference was one of the worst ones. Not just in the gaming line up, but on the presentation itself.

E3 is supposed to be one of the biggest events in entertainment.

This is alarming, man.

In for God of War and Spider-Man. Very disappointing lack of Japanese games shown. Hoping they would ride the momentum of all the great Japanese games released this year. Guess not.

I guess it's one of those years where they focused on this year and early 2018 because everything else is too early to show. I like the no talking though. Been a pretty low profile E3 this year.

So to review:

- God of War is 2018

- Spider-Man is 2018

- Detroit didn't even have a date

- Days Gone didn't even have a date

So are two DLC packs the only original stuff Sony has for the rest of 2017? What the fuck.

Uhm. Kind of underwhelming tbh.

I guess it was ok? Certainly worse than 2015 and 2016 but to be fair those conferences were amazing.

Days Gone doesnt look very good. Like, at all.

Expected to see more of GOW. Same for Detroit (and no release date, not even window... uhm...).

No Sucker Punch, I mean, what the fuck... So disappointed.

The MH trailer was boring and uneventful. Game looks ok at best.

Now for the good parts.

Shadow of the Colussus looks amazing.

Spiderman looks UN fucking BELIEVABLE. Like holy shit, I need that game.

Great trailer for Uncharted and good to see DLC for Horizon.

But yeah, I hope Sony ups their game for PSX.

Excellent conference but zero megatons or wow moments.

7/10. Still best conference this E3, which is kinda saying a lot.

Sad that there was no big surprise and I really really expected FromSoftware. But Horizon DLC, God of War and Spider-Man all look simply amazing. Add Detroid, Shadow of the Colossus, Matterfall and Days Gone and I am happy with the upcoming exclusive lineup. Not sure about Monster Hunter. That looked a bit off, but we didn't even see a real fight. "Capcom presents" concerns me that this is handled by a b-tier western studio.

And man, God of War: That looked just amazing and the fighting seems to be on the right track with more than 2-3 enemies at once and nice combos. And that setting is simply ace. Still a bit concerned about the child getting on my nerves during the game, but I am very optimistic. And we didn't even see one of the gods. Easily my most anticipated game now.

In for Spider-man, God of War, Uncharted, Monster Hunter, Horizon DLC so I liked the conference even if no big bombs.

Detroit really really interests me a lot but I assume it will control like total garbage like all of QD's games so waiting on that.

Sounds like Sony holding all their cards for TGS and Sony Experience

They saw MS was just a s mediocre and was like "well fuck it"

So I think they don't have enough to fill 3 shows a year with new content. That really lacked oomph. I mean, I get that they need to get these games out and next year should be all new content, but really...why are they cutting it so short? They should have moved preshow content into the main show. Ninokuni could use stage time. But then again they showed that at PSX.

I guess you do have to remember they have 3 shows...

Yep. And that's ok, but people on gaf didn't realise that the calender of big announcements is now spread throughout the year.

But they definitely could have done a better job. I guess their main focus is anyway what they'll show throughout the week on their streams + with the press previews ?
