Miyamoto: Pikmin 4 still "progressing"

So...Hey! Pikmin isn't the game he was talking about after all?

EDIT: wrong image fuck

So Hey, Pikmin! isn't 4, that's a relief. Expect it to be like Fed Forces, bad game released this year, next year announce a sequel

I was worried the "new Pikmin" that's been name dropped over the last year or two was "Hey! Pikmin", so this is good to hear.

Good to have some confirmation again, I never thought this but I know some people were thinking Miyamoto had been refering to Hey Pikmin in the past.

Pikmin straight into my veins Miyamoto-San. Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Pink, and Rock Pikmin.....straight into my veins.

Best news of the conference. Absolutely adore Pikmin and I can't wait to see what they have in store for 4 after the brilliance of 3.

People should start asking him about everything. I imagine 1 out of every 5 will be 'I can't tell you about this, but it's totally happening!'

Pikmin is the one series he keeps talking about before he's supposed to, he did the same thing with Pikmin 3, he talked about it at a 2008 Roundtable and it released in 2013

Pikmin 4 is starting to sound like Pikmin 3. As in that it was announced via an off hand comment, kept being a no-show at various E3s, moved from one Nintendo home console to another, and then released as an incredible game, despite many believing it was vapourware..

Looking like we will have a constant stream of quality first party stuff from Nintendo for the switch.

Combined efforts from handheld and home console will pay dividends.

Really odd that he mentioned it was near completion previously, now it's basically nothing, no footage or teaser, makes me wonder how far along it really is.

Overall some really glaring omissions from Nintendo's show: no Pikmin 4, no Retro Studios game and no mention of VC. Also disappointed by lack of MHXX localisation, but that's on Capcom.

Didn't Miyamoto do this before? Inadvertently just announced Pikmin 3?

Or am I imagining things. Either way I am happy to hear of its existence!

I don't know, I could live with that.

They must have run into some trouble late into development, this game was "very close to completion" all the way back in 2015 according to Miyamoto.

He said last year it was put on hold.

Yeah, he announced Pikmin 3 back in 2009, I believe. Might have even been earlier than that. Edit - Yeah, I think it was E3 2008.

And he actually announced Pikmin 4 two years ago! Pretty crazy.

It really is, LOL

Glad it's not Hey! Pikmin, much as I'm looking forward to that.

Crazy that people doubted that this was a separate project from hey pikmin, despite the fact that Pikmin 3 was announced and discussed in the exact same way.

I love how he's basically like "yeah I'm not supposed to say anything, but what are they gonna do? Fire me?"

I mean at E3 2008 Miyamoto said they were working on a new Pikmin game and it only released over 5 years later.

He talked about the next one in September 2015 so expect holiday 2020.
