I can only think of Cobra and Kyros as the best dads in OP.

The rest are either deadbeats or boring. I must be drawing a blank on other ones.

It is Father's day somewhere? It is only in August here. It must be like Valentines where everywhere it is in february but here in Brazil is in June.

While we're discussing the anime: OnePace had been recommended many times and I finally decided to check it out. I like the edit of the first few episodes but WTF many arcs are incomplete or not even done at all?! There's like a jump from Syrup Village to Loguetown lol. I watched the rest of the regular Syrup Village episodes but at 2x[/b[/] speed. If I can find a recommended episode guide without out the fillers I might blaze through the anime that way...

Right now, the team is focusing on the arcs that are in desperate need of proper pacing.

They're almost finished with Dressrosa, which will be a total of 50 episodes. And then they'll work on Impel Down and Marineford afterward.

For now, you can just plow through the canon episodes and skip all filler until around post-timeskip, then switch to One Pace.

You can keep track of their progress here

Rebecca takes an L but him not wanting his lil girl not to fight definitely shouldn't be seen as a problem

That's because in one piece even a man without a leg is more capable of taking down the most elite guard of their city than a girl with years of fighting experience.

It's too bad they couldn't have done something really crazy, like work together to beat him.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Looking at that Captain Morgan art reminds me how different the high seas feel of East Blue was. You still had weird shit everywhere but it was way more down to earth and pirate-y. I don't want to say they went to the Grand Line too soon, because the series is super long as it is, but I would have liked to see more of that.

This is not okay.gif

Pretty sure that wasn't even the worst of it.

I don't remember thriller bark being bad and there wasn't enough in Amazon lily to go off of, Impel down I personally felt like had zero tension. Marineford had ok fights but had too many episodes where it was Boa fawning or Buggy pissing on a wall. I haven't seen anything from whole cake at all yet aside from big moms song.

He wasn't afraid, that she loses, he was afraid that she would kill him. Since he killed a person before, he wanted a better life for his child and not make the same mistake as him. If Rebecca would have been a boy, he would have done the same. At no point did he uses her gender as an excuse. It isn't also like she loved fighting, she was forced into those situations.

You could agruee, Oda's under use of fighting woman, could give the story a sexist undertone (her outfit didn't help, even so it fit the theme). But here Oda clearly wanted to portrait a father and child relationship and nothing else.

PH had episodes of the crew just running in the hall and they extended the final Boss for the FH arc

Somehow I doubt that. Either way, obviously not a good look.

Not calling Oda a Ferengi level sexist but i don't think we would have a similar character if she was male though that's me being biased.
I keep trying to remember a similar character we had to Rebecca besides the Princesses of the arc (but just a story role though mermaid girl i found annoying) and i don't so i will give him the benfit of the doubt and just state Rebecca was a shit character

I keep thinking though Ohba writer of Bakuman and Death Note after watching a death note retrospective how bad he can be as well

What, kill someone? In one piece? Good luck. She'd have to do a hell of a ton of intentionally lethal damage to even start. I don't buy the argument at all that she couldn't have cut him up enough to disable him, assuming that she could infact do that. Shit, that's what Kyros ended up doing, and Diamante lived through that just fine. It takes more than a couple sword cuts to kill anyone in this series. Besides, the way it's presented implies she's just out of her league, so there is never the less a "Stay back lady, I have to save you" moment.

Even if you don't buy that excuse, the fact is that there is always some arbitrary reason women can't. Oh, she's too weak. Oh, she doesn't have the right fruit for it. Oh, she believes in peace. Rebecca wanting to be a pacifist would have been fine, if kinda stupid given the threat that Doflamingo's group presents, if she was the exception rather than the rule.

Can you expand? It's been years since I glimpsed at either of those, though I do remember some shit going down. Just not what.

My one panel starts this again argue about oda sexism all you want there was absolutely nothing wrong with how kyros was portrayed however he's a father you protect your children period
