Nah i understand that, it's just that i mentally associate the word rim with the discworld and with the way that title is structured, yeah.

I really hate to say it but I realized this morning that I don't like Nier Automata. The first few hours are so awesome, so weird and creative and exciting but it just sort of continually went downhill in terms of fun/interesting/weird for me. The combat and world (visually) being boring didn't help either. I think I am near the end of C and have stopped playing and I kind of hate myself for feeling this way after there being so much praise for it (and after liking so much of it myself, early on).

After the fifth dungeon, I believe it was Haru and the localization that finally broke me and I haven't picked the game up in like a month and a half.

Having "this guy are sick" stuff in an otherwise very tightly-produced game in 2017 is ridiculous.

Also I can't not hear Futurama's Nixon saying "Haru" whenever she's mentioned or on-screen.

I'm getting too bogged down in side quests and its killing all momentum re: my interest in continuing to play it. Fucking hate how you can't just teleport from the pause menu, getting around is such a pain in the ass.

I lasted until about halfway and just couldn't play it anymore. I really really really found the game boring

I will say Nier Automata should probably win Best Soundtrack. Even if I don't think there's enough combat music, the OST in that game is pretty incredible.

If you're that far in you might as well see the final ending which is by far the best part of the game.

I want to see Abby and Vinny do an improv skit together

Giant Bomb has talked about getting an RV and going cross country before. There you go. A travelling Improv troupe.

I'm waiting for Nier's story to go beyond the usual anime sci-fi tropes. I remember Alex being pretty down on the story at first too.
Yeah, it's sci-fi anime as fuck, but what makes the game special is how it tells the story. It does it so well that it's my goty so far and I can't stand anime.

I quit at the same point and wish I'd gotten out earlier tbh

I just played through Virginia and: W H A T

Is that a good W H A T or a bad W H A T

It's a "I don't even know what to make of this thing" W H A T. At first it's confusing, but if you pay attention you think you've got the story figured out about halfway through (and it's like 90 minutes long) but then the last 20 minutes it just... goes some places. I don't think it earns what it's trying to go for at all, but I'll give it this: it's interesting. For like two and a half bucks it's worth seeing.

I'm about ten hours into Nier 1. It's... man, it's really good. There's a level of jank present that was Platinum'd over in Automata, but it's a certain brand of jank that I'm completely okay with (somewhat reminiscent of Team Ico stuff).
