Finally, proper vehicle damage...

I like the way they've incorporated the pit-stop but there's a glaring issue with it.

The pit lane seems really, really short. Looks like all competitors will have the same entry, pit, and exit no matter where your garage is.

EDIT: Yes, I understand this player was the only active player but it does look like 'set' mechanics.
It was not the case in GT5-6 and it does not look like GTS will be any different.

Since release is suppose to be later this year have they commented on how progression will be done in the game? The single player?

Will it be like the past games where you start in a lower tiered car and are able to buy new ones as you wish while getting the occasional gift after betting certain modes? Or will things be unlocked from the start?

Will the career mode mirror past games or just the online focus?

I really do not like how all cars available in things like Project Cars. Nor do I like wining or being gifted really powerful cars. Actual progression is what made really enjoy GT6.

I think 'Campaign' has 140 events that vary from teaching you driving basics to full-blown races. In a recent interview they were saying that they hadn't yet decided how car unlocks would work, or if there will be an in-game economy to purchase them. The campaign sounds like a combination of the licence tests and regular race cups etc. I assume they'll go into more details soon on this part of the game!

I guess this brings up another question: Will you be able to buy upgrades/tuning components for the cars?

I feel like GT Sport has had the worst marketing for any AAA game from Sony ever, especially one of its status...People are still confused what it is, and what SP even is in this game.
Sony seems to be afraid of it or something, really boggling.

Have you seen how Microsoft show cases Forza?

It appears Gran Turismo is like the red headed step child who gets ignored by the parents. GT cant even get a proper showcase let alone an E3 trailer during the show, instead they show it during the preshow LOL

Yep. I completely agree. It is also annoying that Forza 7 and Every other racer has a release date or month. GTS... newp.

What else would they show? *rimshot*

Also, what's this have to do with the beta, that I still haven't got my invite to and looks like I never will :'(

I don't think Sony wanted to show a trailer with no release date at their main event. Gran Turismo has a long history of delays so they wanted to slip in a quick trailer after the main conference to keep some people happy.

They haven't released an official date yet just a timeframe. Marketing usually doesn't start until it's about to come out.

Not to say that they were supposed to launch it last Holiday season and postponed only a few months before it was supposed to launch. So, in theory the game was almost done, they have the whole year to polish it (it will be a holiday title for sure)... But yeah, its time they give us a date.

Wait until the launch event. In GT6 it was big but in GTS with the FIA involved it should be even bigger. There is no reference that can be taken in other games to evaluate what GT does, they rarely make great shows at videogame expos but when the time does come they create their own exclusive events with a broader focus.

Do you mean you can get mechanical damage from running hard over kerbs and stuff, and not just from contact/collisions? That would be great imo.

Hi guys, do you think that buying a Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari Alcantara bundle is worth it at this point with the T-GT around the corner?
I mostly play on PC so I was initially looking at the TS-PC, but I am very interested in GT Sport and will probably end up buying it; so compatibility for both PC and PS4 will be important. Ill also be looking at picking up the T3PA Pro set and a Formula rim in the future.

Regarding the car models used in GT Sport, Yamauchi had this to say:

“The models that we use for Gran Turismo Sport now, these models will probably support generations of consoles beyond the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro.
This level of data will probably carry us for the next 10 years or so, I think, because the level of precision of these models is unmatched anywhere in the world right now.
The only models that are higher in quality to what we have here would be the CAD models coming straight from the manufacturers, which cannot be rendered in real-time, obviously.
For models that can be rendered in real-time, this really is the best data that you’ll find anywhere in the world.”

“The things you can do for sound are limitless. I mean, there’s no end to the amount of work that it can take.
And there are still more things that we want to make better, but having made a number of different discoveries in doing our development – and having been able to implement that now – is actually very satisfying. In terms of graphics, even with the PS4 and PS4 Pro generation, we could always use more power.
But in terms of audio, there is actually a higher degree of freedom with what we can do now. In terms of just audio, I think the environment that’s available to us now is very rich, relatively speaking, compared to graphics.”

Don't know how impressive the car models are, but that quote it's safe to assume they'll be re-using the assets in GT7.
