WAPO: Sessions discussed Trump campaign-related matters with Russian ambassador

So here's the thing that continues to bother me: can we get these fucking intelligence agency intercepts OUT into the public? It's like we keep hearing "US intelligence agencies intercepted this and that" but it's never released publicly so people never believe it because they figure it's just rumor.

It's classified material.

Can't wait for when we get to the "shit's self on purpose" phase of this leak.

There's an active investigation going on, they're not going to release any evidence until the investigation is over.

That's a surefire way to kill your investigation.

They can't release the info themselves, it is obviously classified.

So they just leaked them. Anybody who thinks that the Washington Post just made this up probably can't be convinced anyway.

Fair enough but if we're already hearing that the agencies have the info and the details are essentially being released, how is it sensical to keep it under wraps?

They are classified documents. They can't officially release them. Whoever leaked this committed a felony.

I guess people still think the Trump WH is capable of 4D chess. 💀
You don't get it. He intentionally leaked this story about Sessions talking to Russia so that he can fire Sessions and appoint a new AG who can fire Mueller so that Trump will finally....look....guilty...? Shit, wait.

Jesus lol
But he did just make a comment on sessions, so they could be trying to toss him and Jr under the bus in one last hail Mary.
WaPo likely could have been asking the WH for comment early enough in the week for Trump's interview to be a reaction. Classic sour grapes, easily within Trump's capacity.

This is too convenient for trump. Sessions will resign and trump will pick a puppet who will now oversee the Special Council Investigation and fire Mueller. Bypass Rodenstein.

It would be on Republicans partnering up with Dems to set up a independent special counsel?

Then again Republicans can just ignore everything and let this die.

In a nutshell, heavily reliant on Republicans doing the right thing. 🙃
I expect that they won't. They'll probably cite Scalia's dissent in Morrison v. Olson and argue that, because the Constitution vests the president with the executive power, Congress can't abridge that power by prohibiting the president from firing an independent prosecutor, an executive officer.

You see, instead of accepting Sessions's resignation a long time ago when it was offered Trump decided to leak a story in the fake news WaPo that shows high level collusion, something he has always vehemently denied.

13D chess.

They don't just show up. They have to go through Senate confirmation, during will they will be grilled nonstop about how they will approach Mueller.

13D chess.

You never know with morons with Trump. Might be somebody feeding him these dumb ideas, he might've gotten more angry with Sessions over time. We don't know.

WaPo dude on CNN just said this is something they've been working on for a while, not something in last 24 hours.

I think people are giving Trump too much credit again

Considering the general competency of this administration, that's a massive fucking if

No doubt. If I was in control, an actual story placed in specific hands would be the first thing I did. With this administration?
Who knows.

Also, that Gutek comparison was low.
I've been practically giddy about how fucked Trump is lately.
I just don't think this is something we should be celebrating.
And people who are basically saying. "Fire Mueller. I dare you." are sniffing glue.

This whole thing is stunting their agenda so I wouldn't be surprised.
